Just to make sure we're on the same page, are you sure it was "Zantac" you were perscribed? Zantac is used to control excessive stomach acid. Did you mean "Xanax?" Xanax is an antianxiety medication, but has no affinity for depression. If you could just clear that up for us, we can hopefully get you some answers.

They only did a TSH test which came back normal 2.15 (0.34-5.60) They put me on zoloft, and zantac for acid reflux and are referring me to a cardiologist. Well the zoloft made my anxiety worse, I had to quit taking it. I have taking zoloft before and it worked great, so I don't understand that! When I went back to Dr. for follow up I told her about everything and she put me on a beta blocker propanolol for heartrate and did more labs to see if I am magnesium deficient.

I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

Has anyone ever taken Zantac? My doctor told me to take that everyday instead of taking tums b/c they are pointless, but I kinda don't wanna take medicine.

Just came off of 50 mg of Zoloft for panic attacks, approx. 1 month ago. Zantac 150 as needed. Struggling with difficulty breathing, which leads to panic attack, which leads to reflux or some version of this chain of events. Questions: Why am I regurgitating / coughing up phlem everytime the weather gets cold? Why am I regurgitating every single day? Should I look at going back on the Zoloft as the anxiety has become 10x worse since I got off?

Breakthrough panic attacks possibly. I've had them when I first started taking Zoloft. And also get the esophageal spasms and a heart rate as high as 160. It's scary. I was on Zoloft five years and weened off two months ago. Was doing good until last week. Went back on my Zoloft yesterday. It takes a couple weeks to adjust to it. Nothing like starting from square one. If your worried , get a cardio stress test and echo cardiogram to ease your mind. Be well.

t be surprised if many of these effect are indeed coming from your steroid use. BUT hopefully, the end is in near sight.......My doc. puts me on zantac when I need to be on steroids, and quite honestly, some very low doses of zoloft have helped me too. But the BEST thing I did for coping was see a counselor. She's not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but it's a place for me to just "TALK" and it's been great. Best of luck! Keep us posted.

I took Zantac because I had gastritis symptoms. Now I hear that Zantac causes cancer and wished I never went to pills for relief. How long does it take for cancer to appear after you've taken Zantac? I've heard the NDMA in Zantac causes full body cancers in every organ.... This seems like a intentionally made drug to induce cancer.

Hi......Zantac is not an antidepressant it's prescribed for heartburn. Is there another medication she's been prescribed that maybe you got confused with the Zantac?

Go pick up zantac 150 or 75 mg. If 75 mg take 1 pill twice daily and then take tums as needed. Zantac should prevent the heartburn but if it doesnt work on occasion take tums (i normally take 4 extra strength tums or 2 ultra strength at a time) I was prescribed zantac 75 mg twice a day with my first baby and told to take tums if for some reason zantac doesnt help so its perfectly safe!

Im in my 7th week and my acid reflux is aweful! Does anyone know if Zantac is safe? Tums are not working...

So I bought some OTC zantac like my doc suggested today only to get home, takeone, and realize I accidentally grabbed the 150mg when I was only supposed to take 75. Is thus a major issue I should call in to the on call Dr about or just let it go?
