7349088 tn?1390661333 I've had other pregnant women tell me zantac is way to go. My dr just keeps saying tums. I go February 4th for next appointment. I'm going to talk to her then.

299260 tn?1304219705 I know I understand not wanting to be upset, but hopefully you will start feeling pregnant soon. I am keeping everything crossed for you!! About the progesterone it kind of makes sense that it can delay AF a little longer, but I really don't know. Hope you have a wonderful day!
299260 tn?1304219705 A Strong Woman VS. A Woman Of Strength A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape… But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape. A strong woman isn't afraid of anything… But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear. A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her… But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.
Avatar n tn My patient insert says acidphex is Category B. Then it goes on to say there have been NO studies during pregnancy and should be avoided by pregnant women. Even though it isn't a category X or anything, I'd take it serious. Definitely worth a detailed discussion with your OB and GI doc. If other drugs are safer, it might be worth paying more for them, or ask to get a month or two supply of samples if possible to stretch your copays.
299260 tn?1304219705 *********************************************************************************** So, I'm fasting for my 3-hour glucose test ;( No fun when you're pregnant, I tell ya! My heartburn got so bad last night & I couldn't take a Tums. Every time I layed down, I felt like I was going to throw up. So, I sat up in bed til after 12:30 before finally falling asleep.
Avatar n tn studies done in animals have shown NO bad effects on off-spring and there are no trials in pregnant women. This is as positive a recommendation for use in pregnancy was we can have. There are almost no medications where studies have allowed pregnant women to be included. Thus, you can use this medication in pregnancy. Antacids, such as Rolaids, can magnify the constipation that often troubles pregnant women. Finding the antacid that works best is trial and error.
Avatar n tn (GULP) Dear Tammy, Gastroesophageal reflux is a very common disorder, but as you pointed out it is much more common during pregnancy. Pregnant women have the highest incidence of daily heartburn. This is due to increased progesterone levels during pregnancy and due to mechanical factors that put pressure on the stomach as the fetus grows. The hormone progesterone decreases lower esophageal sphincter pressure thus allowing for gastroesophageal reflux to occur.
Avatar m tn The researchers used statistical techniques to focus solely on B12 levels and factor out the role of folic acid, a nutrient known to help prevent pregnant women from birthing babies with neural tube defects. The study authors noted that B12 and folate are jointly linked to several key biochemical reactions, but that a lack of either B12 or folate increased the risk of a neural tube defect.
Avatar f tn Pregnant women have my sympathy when illness is added to thier concerns. I've had reflux for over 30 years. Your obgyn should be aware of any meds you take before you take them. That said, I would begin by taking samples of pepcid (famotidine) from the Dr's office. There are many other reflux brands, some strong. Pepcid, zantac, tagamet are all old basic meds. I guess these are good to start with. Ask your doctor. They are also OTC, over the counter.
659957 tn?1224857787 Just make sure you DO disscuss this with your doc because there are meds that are OK for a pregnant women to take to prevent w/d.
224256 tn?1212260623 The good news is I asked my DR cause of my pregnacy being high risk for heart failure, She said not to worry in the begining women have different types of chest pain that are caused by reflux, the constant morning sickness, your muscles get tired of the purging. She said if it comes to pain in the left side then we need to go to the hospital. and also if its not a heart issue but you are purging up blood then you might have a more serious reflux issue go to the hospital. Well hope this helps.

Avatar n tn I have friend that went through this when she was pg. I know one thing for sure there are lots of women that have pvc when they are pg. One because of all the raging harmones. I think if there was anything to worry over they would not had let you go. I also know that my frined had to go on a beta blocker during pregnancy because she had pvc that resulted in tachacardia. They said this is commen in pregnacy as well. What ever you do try to eat foods that will not upset your stomach.
Avatar n tn Within days, I felt better than I had felt in years. Then, 2 weeks later, I got pregnant for the first time. My husband and I had been trying for a while. I have a beautiful 8 month old now. Also, I had become intolerant of several foods, such as all dairy, and now I can tolerate these foods again. Just not gluten. And I was totally unaware of the problem before I went gluten free (could not see any connection between how I was feeling and the consumption of gluten).
Avatar f tn R u sure my doc said zantac wasn't good for pregnant women

Avatar f tn My doc told me Zantac is safe for pregnant women. Iwas doing tums but they only worked but for so long and it says not to exceed 12 in a day. Zantac was a life saver for me.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 59 year old women in the UK who has suffered this unbearable itching on both arms (alternately) for about 10 years.it has worsened with each attack and I have currently had it for about 7 weeks..all day..every day. My doctor told me about 3 years ago that it was Hives,so I have been taking anti histamines, these have gradually helped me less and less..I have only just discovered this site and am amazed to discover that my symptons are BRP and not Hives!

This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Avatar f tn Doc gave me Pepcid It's class B. Safe for pregnant women. Tums didn't give me any relief. Pepcid works really good.
Avatar f tn I went for months like this and ended up having a gallblader attack. It's not uncommon for pregnant women to get gallstones because of the increase in estrogen.
Avatar f tn my dr prescribed me prilosec but a lot of women sweat by zantac ..
Avatar f tn Is it ok to take pepto bismol for heartburn while pregnant?
Avatar f tn Good luck. Mine has gotten so bad that nothing hardly helps. I have to take Zantac and zofran (which is for nausea) before bed. If I don't do that and sleep with my head elevated i wake up at least twice to go throw up from the burn of acid reflux. 28w today and been having heartburn every day going on two months now.
Avatar f tn The dosage is low for me so I take one in the morning with breakfast and the next one I take it for dinner. Tums does not work for me either. Milk helps me when I run out of my meds. Just be alittle more cautious with what you eat that way you can monitor what gives you heartburn.
Avatar f tn Try milk, and tums. Works for me most the time. I have had heartburn sense I found out I was pregnant. Some days are worse than others. I've noticed eating smaller more frequient meals helps.
