Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.
Avatar f tn t conditioned enough to be running on the treadmill. Running on a treadmill is jarring. Stay with brisk walking on the treadmill. To be honest there is no need to run on a treadmill. Plus, brisk walking is easier on your joints. Maybe add: Resistance Training Strength Training Elliptical Machine Cycling Whatever you add I recommend something low impact until your weight comes down a bit more.
Avatar f tn You do need to be sure to mix up your exercise, though and not just do one thing. Be sure to add weight training with your cardio (running), since weight training is what builds muscle. You can do weight training using light hand weights, or if you don't have any, use your own body weight. Check out YouTube for examples.

Avatar m tn Other than cardio as in treadmill, cross trainer, running, skipping, jogging you can indulge in whatever sports or physical activities you enjoy. It is your personal choice but remember regular cardio is important to lose proportionally. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hiya, You probably think that losing weight involves hardcore exercise which can be so strenuous and tiring, however even just 15 mins of stationary cycling (for example) can make a big difference long- term. Stationary biking, cycling, running, treadmill, dancing, jogging... There is so much that can be done and is so easy, you can even do them while watching TV or listening to music. 15 mins a day and a healthy diet with slightly smaller portions will make a difference.
Avatar n tn I'm in my early 30s and have severe Osteoporosis in hips and low bone density (Osteopenia) in my spine. I've been running on the treadmill for about 10 minutes daily, followed by 20 mins of brisk walking. Is running a safe exercise for Osteoporosis?
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any secrets to losing weight with hypothyroid? Have been diagnosed now for a yr and 1/2. Have joined a gym and been eating more veg. and fruit but still can't lose any suggestions?
797971 tn?1238008431 I have a ifit treadmill at home. A few weights for your hands, and that's about it. Dh & I came up with a schedule for exercise last night. I wanted to run them by you so you could see what you all thought. Push ups will be a lower amount because I can't really hold my weight up good yet. I just have to pace myself. Eventually the push ups will be every other week because I don't want too much muscle on my arms. My Dh bought me some perfect pushups to help me with them at first.
Avatar f tn The problem I have is, over Christmas I put on around 10 pounds, and am now absolutely unable to shift it at all. I have never had any problem losing the weight once I put my mind to it but it doesn’t matter what I do I just can’t seem to shift it at all.
Avatar f tn Regular cardio for 1 hr like walking, running, skipping, jogging, treadmill, cross trainer, elliptical or swimming is strongly suggested for you for the next 1 year till you achieve your desired BMI. Take care!
Avatar n tn While training last week I experienced severe stabbing pain underneath my right ribs, not on my side under my ribs but in my upper abs region. When I slowed the treadmill down and tried to catch my breath, the pain became more intense and the only way I was able to maintain breathing was with small breaths. It took about 15 minutes for my recovery and after about another 10 minutes I tried running again, this time it was not as painful.
338416 tn?1420045702 I'm kinda irritated about it, actually. It looks like I can't lose weight unless I'm running. Which means that when I have another flare, wham, the pounds come back on. I've got to figure out the foot thing. And the bladder thing. Maybe it's just a stamina problem - as I get in better condition, I'll be safer on the treadmill. Who knows... I'm just going to keep plugging away until I flare up again.
Avatar f tn I would like to drop my weight down to 50 or 55. Is that an unhealthy weight? And this weight tracker thing says I have to eat around 1200 calories in every day, isn't that a little bit too little? Or is that right? And a side note, I have an injury that doesn't allow me to do any high impact sport, including running, any helpful tips?

Avatar f tn I would suggest you to wear proper footwear and also if possible do some stationary cycling or run on the treadmill at lower speeds. Do not do weight bearing for couple of days and watch your diet during the time you are not exercising. Discuss with your orthopedician and start in a progressive way as soon as you are given the go ahead. Take care!

Avatar m tn Streach your legs both before and after running. Have you lost a lot of weight recently? Loosing weight can SOMETIMES cause bone strenghth to be lost. Also staying hydrated will help with the tight feeling. I had this feeling lately too but I got weird legs and feet so I should always take more care to them. If you want to do a sport that won't put much pressure to almost no prussure on your joints and bones, swimming. But do what you like best. Yes a good pair of shoes will deffently help.
Avatar f tn So, stabilize your diet for a month and see if you are losing weight or not. If you are not losing weight, then consult a doctor to rule out anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism and polycystic ovaries. If you have any of these problems, which can start at any age, then you will find it difficult to shed weight. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
