Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.
Avatar f tn t conditioned enough to be running on the treadmill. Running on a treadmill is jarring. Stay with brisk walking on the treadmill. To be honest there is no need to run on a treadmill. Plus, brisk walking is easier on your joints. Maybe add: Resistance Training Strength Training Elliptical Machine Cycling Whatever you add I recommend something low impact until your weight comes down a bit more.
Avatar f tn You do need to be sure to mix up your exercise, though and not just do one thing. Be sure to add weight training with your cardio (running), since weight training is what builds muscle. You can do weight training using light hand weights, or if you don't have any, use your own body weight. Check out YouTube for examples.
5891248 tn?1406410864 I don't think u should try to lose weight... If ur gaining weight too quickly try changing ur eating habits... When ur pregnant u should never try to lose weight..
Avatar m tn Other than cardio as in treadmill, cross trainer, running, skipping, jogging you can indulge in whatever sports or physical activities you enjoy. It is your personal choice but remember regular cardio is important to lose proportionally. Take care!
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any secrets to losing weight with hypothyroid? Have been diagnosed now for a yr and 1/2. Have joined a gym and been eating more veg. and fruit but still can't lose any suggestions?
797971 tn?1238008431 I have a ifit treadmill at home. A few weights for your hands, and that's about it. Dh & I came up with a schedule for exercise last night. I wanted to run them by you so you could see what you all thought. Push ups will be a lower amount because I can't really hold my weight up good yet. I just have to pace myself. Eventually the push ups will be every other week because I don't want too much muscle on my arms. My Dh bought me some perfect pushups to help me with them at first.
Avatar f tn Regular cardio for 1 hr like walking, running, skipping, jogging, treadmill, cross trainer, elliptical or swimming is strongly suggested for you for the next 1 year till you achieve your desired BMI. Take care!
338416 tn?1420045702 I'm kinda irritated about it, actually. It looks like I can't lose weight unless I'm running. Which means that when I have another flare, wham, the pounds come back on. I've got to figure out the foot thing. And the bladder thing. Maybe it's just a stamina problem - as I get in better condition, I'll be safer on the treadmill. Who knows... I'm just going to keep plugging away until I flare up again.
Avatar m tn 11 219lbs( thyroid broke after back to back pregnancies) I am on 100mcg of thyroxine and am now losing weight. About a year ago I had chest pains, pvcs. They did all the blood work, echogram,EKG . All normal. My blood pressure is 120-80. No high cholesterol.. I have a family history of heart disease. I just got back from a stress test, and the doctor said it went fine except for a couple of times my base line dipped.
Avatar f tn For losing weight the most effective way is to sprint for about 30seconds then jog for 30seconds and keep this going for about half an hour
1285110 tn?1420147378 Yes, the WiiFit is an excellent tool for losing weight. I do have a treadmill and actually really like it -- I put in my ear buds and crank up my MP3 player, which is loaded with my favorite music. I also love walking in the streets and have been doing that (3-6 miles/day) for the past 3 months, with my "winter neighbor". She's now gone back to her home state and I'm no longer walking every day, because my hubby doesn't think it's safe to do so alone.
Avatar m tn m not sure if not having enough protein is contributing to me not losing weight. I hear people talk about how they lose a pound a week and the such, but I've run 5 miles a day for 5 days straight for 1 month and have only lost 1-2 lbs. What am I doing wrong?!
Avatar n tn You will actually end up gaining fat and losing muscle mass if you do this, so in turn the scale will say you lost weight, but all you did was loose muscle because muscle because it weighs more than fat. If you dont eat anything for 24 hours or so, your body goes into "starvation mode" storing almost anything you eat as fat, because your body thinks your food rations are low and wants to keep you alive.
Avatar f tn Trying to conceive. I'm now 6 1/2 weeks (46 days) from LMP all my tests have come up negative. Blood test at doctor showed HCG at 3 and all my HPTs are negative. I've never missed a period in my life and know I ovulated on day 19 (postive LH surge on OPK, plus ovulation pain and "egg white" discharge.
Avatar m tn Streach your legs both before and after running. Have you lost a lot of weight recently? Loosing weight can SOMETIMES cause bone strenghth to be lost. Also staying hydrated will help with the tight feeling. I had this feeling lately too but I got weird legs and feet so I should always take more care to them. If you want to do a sport that won't put much pressure to almost no prussure on your joints and bones, swimming. But do what you like best. Yes a good pair of shoes will deffently help.
1612720 tn?1298346909 (I just thought of this too, and it is the case in my case) You may be gaining muscle mass. Instead of losing weight, you are staying the same by developing muscle mass. (I actually began to gain weight because of my training routine. I was training like a body builder which is really all I knew. Now I concentrate on cardio, cardio, cardio! The treadmill, the stationary bike, the eliptical machine and the stair stepper are my best friends in the gym.
Avatar f tn Have you thought of keeping a food journal, if even for a couple of weeks, to make sure your getting enough calories and the right kinds of foods? You could also measure yourself to see if your losing inches instead of weight. Don't forget even if you know what your doing your body sometimes takes a little longer to figure it out. Don't stop what your doing.
Avatar n tn Most experts recommend 30-60 minutes of aerobic exercise three or four days a week, along with two or three days of weight-bearing, resistance exercise (such as weight lifting). This is sufficient to achieve satisfying results. You can exercise daily or on alternate days, depending on the availability of time. Walking is one of the simplest aerobic exercises. You can vary the intensity to match your fitness level.
Avatar f tn Im normally little lazy. Running is like killing myself. So everyday 30 minutes I walk in treadmil increasing speed and incline. It burnes 150 calories. I don't eat sweets.and im a vegetarian. Will I lisemy wweight fast?
1149046 tn?1264361586 For your height, you are just about perfect weight. Losing 20 pounds would put almost in the "underweight" category. I would not advise doing that. Here's part of a height/weight chart that applies to YOU.
Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar n tn My workout consists of 10 or 1 mile on the bike which ever comes first, and the same running/jogging on the treadmill. And then doing the weight circuit at my local gym. I feel like im working my butt off yet the machines only say i have burned like 50 calories! And last night i got on the scale and weighed myself for the first time and i about started to cry! I cant be THAT big! Im just frustrated and want to know how long its gonna take for me to see results and if im doing the right things?
Avatar f tn If you scroll through the exercises listed, you should see treadmill. Another way to look for it is to type it into the search box above the list of exercises. Entering time on treadmill doesn't calculate calories. If you want your calories calculated, use walking, running, or jogging. Most people just count treadmill as a form of these other exercises.
4193337 tn?1355698372 Me personally I wouldn't do it my sis on the other hand was on her treadmill until the day she went into labor !!!! But she also didn't want to gain any weight, I think she starved herself the whole pregnancy!!!! I don't think that there is anything wrong with walking !!!
