Avatar n tn I'm 15 and I'm 5'3". I use to weigh 166 and then I began my diet plan and for about 6-9 months, Now, I'm down to 147.6. I'm still not satisfied though. I've been dieting on a 1200-1500 calories diet, along with running for 30 minutes every weekday followed with another workout that consists of: 100 push ups, 200 crunches, 60 side crunches, 80 sit ups, and a 1 minute plank/wall squat. As active as I sound, you must be thinking i'm losing weight.

Jumping rope 3-5 times for 3 (trying for 5 mins but right now only at 3) minutes each and a very high intensity with rest in-between or long 45-60 min easyer bike ride? My portions I guess are still kinda big. And love handles and big stomach are an issue. Any tips, healthy foods, drinks, workouts that I should be doing. I'm not in any sports but I like running, so would running just be the best answer. Running, and cardio workouts?
699217 tn?1323438700 I start eating less, but what I do eat is not as good for me.. anyway, what works for me is walking (and jogging but walking is better). I walk/jog about 4-5 miles per day (Ive incorporated it into my commute to work each day). Just walking though is GREAT exercise. And if you find a nice place to walk, it can be fun too... and very therapeutic.. its the only time in my whole day that is MY time. I walk/jog early in the morning, right around sunrise.
Avatar f tn Running fast is better for performance, running far is better for endurance. Just do what you like, both are good exercise, but running fast gets the work done more quickly if time is a factor. For me, I always liked running when I was still able to run and had no desire to get it over with too quickly, but for performance training, sprinting will make you stronger and more athletic overall.
Avatar f tn -running or even fast walking (NO WALKING) for about 30min each day is really helpful (fast walking actually burns alot more calories than running and works you out more) With running or fast walking, make sure you move your arms alot. -50-100squats each day will definitely tone your legs and hips -Horizontal bicycle or situps workout your stomach (I personally find that horizontal bicycles work me out more than situps) Sooo yuup!!

Given that your fiance appears to love you the way you are or you wouldn't be getting married, what's the hurry? Losing weight slowly will keep it off because you'll have permanently changed your life and your health. Losing fast, yeah, there are ways to do that, but then you'll go back to whatever got you where you are.

Any weightbearing exercise, be it walking, running, elliptical, vigorous dancing, running up and down stairs, whatever, can burn calories and tone. Other good exercises include Pilates, yoga, lifting weights, karate, biking ... many choices. Just MOVE. Sweating itself is not the object, although exercise may lead to sweating.
Avatar n tn Hi bidlygirl, I think it's always a good idea to consult your family doctor when you're considering starting a new exercise plan. I have asthma too by the way. Your doctor can suggest some exercise you can do. Personally, I wouldn't do any running or jogging until you have discussed this with your doctor. Running and jogging can put a strain on your heart. You also have to do warm up exercises before you jog.

Do not be discouraged, weight loss can be a slow process but the slower you loss, the higher chance it will stay off. Think of this new way of eating as your new healthy lifestyle and not as a diet. Avatar f tn I been running for a month now ... slowly ... building it up from ! mile in 30 min three times a week to 2 miles in 40 mins (yep I know its slow but I am improving) twice a day five day a week... Cut all Alchol drinks out and changed mu diet to Friut , rice and choc only one a week ... do not seem to have notice a difference in my size... anyboby any ideas where I am going wrong ?

I have awful anxiety and depression so I over think and worry about everything . 1494585 tn?1288728536 you should start off with walking at least 30 minutes a day for exercise if your not used to exercising. also exercise isn't enough to lose weight, you have to making better eating choices, i know its hard i myself am trying to lose weight and have been eating healthier chocies and it hasn't even been 2 weeks yet and i'm starting to notice a difference already, i am still trying to find the motivation to get my self up and exercising at least 30 minutes a day.
