Just do what you like, both are good exercise, but running fast gets the work done more quickly if time is a factor. For me, I always liked running when I was still able to run and had no desire to get it over with too quickly, but for performance training, sprinting will make you stronger and more athletic overall.

Avatar f tn -running or even fast walking (NO WALKING) for about 30min each day is really helpful (fast walking actually burns alot more calories than running and works you out more) With running or fast walking, make sure you move your arms alot. -50-100squats each day will definitely tone your legs and hips -Horizontal bicycle or situps workout your stomach (I personally find that horizontal bicycles work me out more than situps) Sooo yuup!!
699217 tn?1323438700 I start eating less, but what I do eat is not as good for me.. anyway, what works for me is walking (and jogging but walking is better). I walk/jog about 4-5 miles per day (Ive incorporated it into my commute to work each day). Just walking though is GREAT exercise. And if you find a nice place to walk, it can be fun too... and very therapeutic.. its the only time in my whole day that is MY time. I walk/jog early in the morning, right around sunrise.
Avatar f tn It would be good for weight loss if you team up the jump rope cardio with some toning weight lifting exercises, for all your muscles. Toning is awesome, it will tighten your muscles to make you appear thinner, and in lots of light repetitions it is just like cardio. For toning you shouldn't lift more than 10 pounds, and even then 10 pounds is kind of heavy.
Avatar n tn Your body is made to give birth to any baby. It is very extremely rare when the baby is too big and your weight gain doesn't have anything to do with the baby's size sometimes. Think about long term before you jump to conclusions because if you ever want a vaginal birth after your c section it may be harder because it's a vbac. And like stated above unless it's medically necessary you're going to have a hard time finding a doctor who will do an elective one.
Avatar f tn Here is the answer to this question. In order to lose weight, you have to subtract calories. Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week, so in order to lose 1 lb/week, you'd have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb). OR you can drop 250 calories from your diet and increase exercise to use an additional 250 calories. Changing up calorie counts and exercises will help prevent plateau.

When running or walking tense your stomach, walking or running is great excercise but tensing the stomach muscles adds a whole new element to it and will tone you up. Sometimes for tone to appear on our stomachs we have to lose weight first. I invested in underwear/support wear to define and sculp the figure, especially your stomach and sides, and it makes me feel a lot better about going on nights out ect.

I really don't have much to offer for fast weight loss because I have found that the methods to do that are generally not the healthiest. So, I'd focus on clean eating and cardio/strength combination. And just do a lot of it. You'll be running a lot, so I'd do some long runs.

Funny thing is, my appetite is ravenous, my blood tests all came beck fine last week, as well as still cleared of Hep C. My energy level is normal I've heard somewhere that because muscle weighs, it has to be taken into consideration when weighing someone.

First you need to rid yourself of fatty foods,fried,sugary foods that are very high in calories. such as soda,french frieds etc. Your going to want to add more fruit and vegetables to your diet. But most important exercise walking every day and taking baby steps walking for 5 minutes each day the first week and then buidling up.

You'll have to make sure your blood sugar levels stay steady because of course we want you to be able to get "preggers" and give us a wonderful "grandchild". Metformin is a med for Type II diabetes and/or insulin resistance -- weight loss is only a "side effect" but that's desirable for many.......
