Common Questions and Answers about Healthy weight height female

Avatar f tn Female grow to about 18 years old so you may be coming towards the end of your growth cycle. Height is usually genetic. If there are females in your family that have small stature, you may be like them. We should all eat healthy. Recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet and will help you with control of your sugar levels. You need approximately 2200-2500 calories per day which is spread across 5-6 meals a day.
1419937 tn?1302561449 am 13 an I think my weight is unhealthy... if im 5"5,female,13, an weigh 186.9 lb is this healthy an if not how do I change it?
Avatar f tn you should not worry to much though, you are 15 which means your growing, and your a girl so your hormones will be doing crazy things. when i was 15 my weight was 76 and 'im only 158 cm. once i turned 18 i dropped so much weight and by 19 i was 58kg without diet or working out.
Avatar n tn According to Weight Watchers, they recommend 120 - 138 for your height and age. As for diet, that seems a little long to go without ANY food...7pm - 2am then sleep time. You should be eating healthy foods all along the day. Since your day isn't typical 9-5pm, eat regular meals at what would be your breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Avatar n tn You are very tall so it might be normal for you. The BMI calculations is good for a lot, and many use this to say if someone is over weight or obese. Using it alone, you would probably be considered overweight. BUT it doesn't work well for everyone and fat percentage (how much muscle to fat you have) need to be taken into account. I would go with what your doctors are telling you on this one. Mine had no hesitation to tell me at 10 that I needed to start loosing weight and eat better.

Avatar m tn I am a female, age 51 and need to lose 61 lbs. in order to get to my goal weight. Other then Weight Watchers, can anyone recommend a diet or some kind of weight loss plan which has helped you. What I don't like about the current W.W. plan is keeping track of the points. It doesn't have enough structure for me the way the old W.W. plan did from the late 70's up until about 1997.
Avatar f tn I'm an 18 yr old female 5'7 height and weigh around 125. I'm starting the Army ROTC program next semester and I'd really like to gain about 7 pounds before then. I've tried to gain weight but really struggle with anything above 125. I do a little jogging but nothing serious. . So Q 1 is what are some good foods for healthy weight gain? Q 2 is what are some exercises I can perform without equipment to build muscle? Thanks!!

Avatar f tn Iam female with height 6'1ft I really need to loose my weight from 88 to 70. I need help please.
Avatar f tn the average says that a healthy weight for a female your height is 115-150 lbs. Rule of thumb states that for a lighter body frame subract 10% & for a heavier body frame add 10%. If you are a large frame this would put your ideal weight bewteen 126-165 lbs. This shouldn't be used as the only assesment for ideal weight though. You should look at body fat %, visceral fat %, & body shape (apple vs pear). Here are some calculators that can help:
Avatar n tn im a healthy weight for my height and basically the plastic surgeon said it was very common to do these procedures. it was very painful and takes a LONG time to heal (im still not fully healed). i wouldnt call it successful. i still have a bulge even tho it is SLIGHTLY smaller. please learn from my experience.. it costs alot of money, it is very painful and really is inconvenient to your life and chances are it wont look anything like you dream of.
Avatar n tn Your goal will put you in a category of being far too underweight from the healthy range for a female your age. Why would you want to be only 93 lbs? (I'm making the assumption that you are presently weighing more, hopefully over 117 lbs) The concern here is that you might have a serious issue deeper issue which leads to you having a distorted view of a healthy and desirable body image. The consequences of being severely underweight can be detrimental to your health and well-being.
Avatar n tn How can I have a healthy diet and gain weight? I've tried to gain weight eating more than usual but haven't been able to, what food can I eat? Or is there a diet I could follow?
1838712 tn?1325734894 I also started out somewhat overweight, so i'm glad this is creating a buffer for my weight gain. As long as you're eating a healthy diet, I don't think 20 lbs is too much right now....

Avatar n tn I do eat at least 3 meals a day and sometimes snacks in between. My concern is that, is this a healthy weight for my height? And how can I get back to my previous weight a healthy way? My weight was always steady and I felt more comfortable at 130. I know this must sound crazy with today's world where people are trying to lose weight but I am having a problem gaining weight. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Avatar f tn It doesn't take into account body type, like height, fat, muscle, etc, or whether you're gaining more weight in the beginning of the pregnancy and less later or vice versa. I'm 5'5" and before pregnancy was 125. At 37 weeks I now weigh 158. This app told me my weight gain was excessive too, but I've always been very healthy and in good shape. So don't even bother entering in your weight. You know yourself and you know what healthy feels like.
Avatar f tn I am a 38 year old healthy female with no other physical, emotional or psychological problems. I am a healthy height and weight and exercise regularly. I have had a facial tic since I was very young--the first time I really knew it was there was when my parents commented that my nose wiggled a lot while standing on stage singing in group choir when I was about 10 years old.
Avatar f tn 95 pounds at a height of 4'11 is too low. Your goal is around 110-115. That said, a weight gain of 14 pounds in the first trimester is a bit high. In the first weeks there's not much to actually cause weight gain beyond bloating and such. Because you were underweight you would want to gain 35-45 pounds the entire pregnancy and the third trimester is where most of your gain will happen. Just make sure you're eating healthy and drinking lots of water and you should be fine.
Avatar n tn As of 2010, more than one-third of American adults were considered obese, defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher. Body mass is derived by dividing weight in pounds by height in inches squared, and then multiplying the result by 703 (weight (lb) / [height (in)] 2 x 703). You can calculate your body mass by following these three steps: 1. Multiply your weight in pounds by 703. 2. Calculate your height in inches squared. 3.
Avatar f tn You aren't eating enough! You need a certain number of calories daily just to run your body systems, 750 is not enough!! When you eat so little, you actually slow your metabolism. There is a formula called "the Harris Benedict formula" that uses height, weight, age and sex to determine caloric needs or basil metabolic rate(BMR). For women BMR = 655 + (9.6 x your weight in kg.) + (1.8 x height in cm.) - (4.7 x age in years) For men BMR = 66 + (13.7 x wt in kg) + (5 x ht. in cm.) - (6.
Avatar f tn I agree shyteen. Let me just say so much pressure is put on young girls to look a certain way and dress a certain way and trying to advertisegirls in magazines that are wearing size 6 and 8 even 4 it is riducoulous.. Honeyif ufeel like u aren't happy with your weight all uneed to do is pay attention to wat ur eating and do some excercise.. Dnt Eva let urself be categorized into wat u should look like..
Avatar n tn You don't say if you're male or female -- if you're male, yeah, you could use more weight, if you're female, you're not that far off at that height. If you want to add size, there are two ways to do it in a healthy fashion -- eat more, but keep eating healthy food -- just eat more of it. The second thing to do is resistance training, which builds muscle. Neither requires you to use unproven and often unhealthy supplements.
Avatar f tn Low impact things like leg lifts while laying down, stretching or pressing your knees to your chest while laying down can be effective in maintaining your weight if you eat healthy. I do these things daily and feel an elevated heart rate for the duration, I am laying down so I don't feel afraid of fainting. Nuts are also a good source of calories in a low volume, that is a great idea. Almonds are great for your heart! Ask your doctor what he recommends you can try.
