Zantac how to take

Common Questions and Answers about Zantac how to take

zantac

I take Ranitidine 150mg at least once a day. I had my OB prescribe it to me but you can get it over the counter.
I had to take two. Now he changed the dose to 150mg and they seem to be working most of the time. When they don't, I drink milk and try to sit up. Laying down makes it worst. Hope you feel better!
H2 Blockers like Zantac can make some people drowsy, so if Zantac does that to you, then you are likely to be even more drowsy combined with Xanax. I would check with your GI doc. He will be more familiar with how Zantac, Nexium, and Xanax react to one another. Your pharmacist is also a good person to ask. Good luck.
Problem is my prescription insurance has run out so I now have to purchase Zantac or Prilosec OTC. Anyway...I started with Prilosec (omeprozole) and all was well until day 6 when I developed the worst, constant, headache, skin rash on my arm and blurry vision.
it's only during my pregnancy that I have changed to zantac and in severe cases pariet or lanzor. I don't know what to do, and what are the dosage since I didn't find baby zantac it's the same as the one for adults the only difference that this one is sirop.. so shall i try it? and how much do i give her and when before or after feed everyday or only when she seems very cranky after feeds?
He has been on it for a two days and it doesn't seem to be helping at all yet( it even seems a little worse) My question is have any of you moms had any luck putting there baby on Zantac? How long does it usuaully take to start working? Do you have any advice for dealing with a baby with acid reflux? Does it get better with time? Any advice is helpful. Thanks!
Last knight he was very fussy and was crying. Nurse suggested to take him to ER. They diagnosed him with Acid Reflux and prescribed Zantac. I gave it to him this morning and I think it made him very sleepy. He has not been spitting as much today. I just want to hear other peoples experiences with Zantac. Has anyone used Zantac? Is it safe? Doctor said it is safe, but I want to make sure.
I have been trying to get my baby to take her zantac (which tastes nasty) but she spits it out, I am wondering if anyone has any tricks. she is 5 weeks old.
I have been on Zantac for about 1.5 years, and used to take 150mg in the morning and 150mg before bed time. A few weeks ago, I decided to slowly get off the medication after being symptom free for six months. I wanted to get off the medication mainly due to it's side effects. At first I took 150mg every other morning and continued taking 150mg every night. I did this for about 1-2 weeks and then stopped taking the morning dose but continued taking 150mg every night.
I was born with acid relfex and I've had it my whole life, the doctor I had when I was a baby overdosed me on zantac which caused me to have pulmonary, lung, and more stomach issues. So I'm wondering could that have long term effects because I'm still dependent on medicine to keep me from being sick and I wanted to know if there is cause for a malpractice suit?
Augment it with chewable Maalox or Tums if you really need to. And if Zantac doesn't work you could try Pepcid.
I had to wait four months for ultrasound wonder how long this will take. Did go to naturepath, she thought galbladder, regular Doc things ulcers. Wish someone could just make up their mind, then we could do something about it. Thanks for all your replies.
My doctor told me to take pepsid. It works amazing! I have horrible heartburn with my pregnancy but pepsid takes it away instantly. Hope you get some relief soon.
After my usual checkup, I told him about my heartburn and he didn't agree with what the GI prescribed me with, and he advised me to omit zantac and instead take motilium and mucosta (rabimipide) before mealtimes, together with the nexium in the morning. My condition has improved since the 1st day I took nexium, but for some reason I'm still having doubts with my new prescription. I want to follow the prescription of my GI instead, especially that my evening symptoms seem to be going back.
Hi..I was also going to ask how long does it take for the hylands leg cramps take to work? I took 2 (it said 2-4 every 4 hrs) like 30mins or an hour ago?,my legs r cramping bad from lowering a lot bc I have only 2 left. So need these to work ASAP!
It is better to avoid the foods that make you sick than to take an expensive, potentially harmful drug so that you can eat the foods that make you sick.
Not everyone is able to manage on meds alone. You're going to need to ask your doc if you can supplement with Zantac. There shouldn't be a problem with that, but he'll need to suggest a dosage. But typically 2x a day on Aciphex should do the job, although it supposedly can take up to 14 days to reach full effectiveness.
What can I take .do to get rid of heartburn..besides tums or milk..I hate it &have a lot from drinking water..but I'm so thirsty..or what better to drink ?
I stopped taking the pills cause it said that prolonged magnesium deficiency can cause serious heart problems. Since then I take Zantac, it does next to nothing even though I take 4 maximum strengths a day, and I pop tums all day, but the heart palpitations have gone away. Not really sure what my next move is going to be. Maybe after 6 months of this I can go back to the protonx for a while.
I have heartburn all the time. I take otc meds like zantac And others but they only work for a few hours. Is there any home remedy that would work? I wake up at night and cant sleep it gets so bad.
Mix a teaspoon in some water till it smoothes out like a runny paste and gulp it down. Doesn't taste real good but you get used to it. When you have a bad flareup take it before each meal for a couple of days. Works for me and it's not a drug so can't do any harm.
Both practitioners gave me very specific movements and a series of exercises to help re-learn how to breath and to become more aware of how I am breathing. It has HELPED TREMENDOUSLY! They have also prescribed regular movement classes, such as Tai Chi, which I haven't started yet, but hope to add to my arsenal of defenses against poor breathing. The counselor impressed on me multiple times that MOST people do not breathe correctly. I have had results.
Hello ladies, I'm breastfeeding my 3 months old son and don't any gassy food but my son has gas problems nonstop, I think he swallows too much air while nursing, I burp him after feeding but he still cries and pulls his legs trying to pass gas, I tried tea to relieve gas, massaging his tummy, pressing his legs up and putting him on his tummy but it doesn't come out unless he screams very hard, why it won't come out? Could something be wrong inside him?
OTC ibuprofen generally says you can take 200 mg. every 6 to 8 hours. Your doctor may say it's okay to take more. At one time, I got a prescription for ibuprofen (which cost me less than buying it OTC.) My prescription was for 800 mg.ever 4 hours. But you have to make sure to protect your stomach. If you do this with your doctor's guidance, they'll determine whether you need something like Prilosec or Zantac, or if you're okay without it.
My doctor refused a referal to a Pediatric GI specialist, and refused to switch from Zantac to a PPI. My doctor pretty much said the reasons behind my childs behavior is due to over feeding....I was not happy to say the least. So in an outrage I packed a diaper bag, made some bottles and flew my hiney to the closest ER with Conner.
I think you're supposed to take Maalox after eating: http://www.medhelp.org/drugs/Maalox-Anti-Gas/show/1204. I'm not sure it will work right away, but I think the goal is after taking it a few times, it starts to reduce the acid buildup, which will then help the swallowing. I had an ulcer and was having the same issue. Took about 3-4 days of consistent use and then I could really tell the difference. Some of them, like Zantac, you do take beforehand. Just depends on the medication.
I would call you pedi and see if you could either switch formulas or if they will give some sort of prescription to help her...Poor baby, I hope you and her get this all worked out...
All of the ppi medicines failed to help. How long should it take to see an improvement in symptoms with Carafate? I've only been on it for 4 days so far. I usually have pain everyday and have been dealing with this for about a year now.
