Common Questions and Answers about Zantac and muscle pain

zantac

Avatar f tn I have this burning pain under my left shoulder blade in the back and wrapping around to under my ribcage on my front right. So it's a pain, under my ribs that goes through to the back. It's worst in the back, though. It's different from my "regular" pain. It's more of a burning and deep aching.
484160 tn?1343397921 After month upon month of frustration, the wife goes and buys hubby some extra strength Zantac and within three hours he was wanting a cheeseburger. When the doctors came in that afternoon I asked them to give it a try. After a bit of condescending attitude on the doctor's part, he said, well, it can't hurt her so if that's what you want we will give it a try. It has now been a week since she was released from the hospital and so far, so good.
1088529 tn?1256844030 I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I've been experiencing muscle twitching all over my body for the past 2-3 years. They feel like bubbles or things crawling under my skin and they happen more frequently when I have lots of gas. Sometimes the twitching stays in one place and doesn't stop for hours. At first I though it was a side effect I was getting from Zantac, but I've been off Zantac for months and I still get muscle spasms! What kind of doctor should I see for this problem?
Avatar f tn Eventually I had a consult with an Otolaryncologist who did an Esophagoscopy, dialation to the muscle and injected 20ml botillium into the Chrico muscle. I had 2 months of almost NO symptoms and discomfort! but unfortunately it only lasts 2-3 months and then the effect of the botillium wears off and I am getting my next injection in a month's time. The Botillium injections does work!
Avatar f tn The back pain has definatley increased now then ever before and my nausea has also returned :( looking forward to delivering that's foresure!!!! 6 weeks to go.....
Avatar m tn m bending over, this sometimes will cause it to start. The pain occurs in the mid back area and feels like a muscle cramping with the pain at times being rather severe. If I stop what I'm doing and rest, it will subside in a few minutes. After that, I tend to belch often that that also relieves the discomfort. My family doctor has done an EKG as a precaution which came back 100% normal. Some of the symtoms almost resemble a mild heart attack from what I've read.
Avatar f tn I am a 29 yr old female, 5'11", 230lbs. I take Zantac 150 for heartburn. I was recently informed I have scoliosis. I frequently wake up in the middle of the night. I have fairly regular small muscle spasms all over my body. Otherwise, I'm pretty normal, no other health issues. For the past 2 weeks I have been having this deep feeling soreness beneath my left pectoral muscle. It's not a muscle ache as the pain doesn't go away when I flex that muscle.
Avatar f tn I was using ranitidine (generic for zantac). I was having horrible stomach pain and dr told me to try zegerid....and holy smokes its awesome!!! Expensive but good stuff $23 for 42 @ target.
Avatar n tn It used to be only when I laid down and then the pain would only last like 5-10 min. However these days the pain occurs longer and it even occurs when I'm sitting. I also play the saxophone. I've played it for 5 years and I have never had breathing problems...however these days I've been having trouble breathing and I've sometimes been having chest pain that stays for a while. Sometimes when I eat, I sometimes feel like I want to just throw it back up.
Avatar f tn My eyes will frequently get red in the inside of the lids. There is no discharge, just sleep in the eyes occasionally. They are somewhat dry, have always been dry actually. No itching. This is re-occurring. I had noticed maybe a year ago that it would happen, then get a little better, then get a little worse. Then, it didn't happen again for quite a while(4 or 5 months?) and now recently, it hit again with inside of eyelids very red, and I started to have some pain too.
Avatar n tn My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain! Will be on this regimen for 30 days and then slowly cut back dosage to maintenance level of 40mg once a day every other day.
Avatar f tn I take 40 mg of prilosec a day and it works amazing
7349088 tn?1390657733 Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.
Avatar f tn I got severe muscle cramps as side effects from that and went back to the urgent care and they gave me zantac instead. Still the same dosis of 2 /day. It all started end of June 2015. The dr eho prescribed zantac also mentioned it could come from the gallbladder but there would be no test to confirm that now (super weird reading all about it now). In September 2015 I had an egd done and the dr confirmed the gastritis. I had no ulcers and no bacterial infection.
3055148 tn?1368211800 I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?
14102276 tn?1440788929 ve been having issues with severe upper abdominal pain, stomach pain, and intense reflux/indigestion for about 4-5 months now. Prior to that my indigestion was only mild and depended on what I ate and if I ate too close to bedtime. My PC physician put me on a PPI (Protonix) for an entire year (beginning dosage), but it stopped working after about 5-6 months.
Avatar n tn The most likely cause is costochondritis, which causes pain and tenderness at points where your ribs attach to your breastbone. The inflammation around the joint area gives sharp pain on taking a breath. This can also cause tenderness on pressing the area which pains. An orthopedic doctor can diagnose this for you. Generally there is no cause. However it can be due to infection, blow, injury, or fibromyalgia. It usually goes away on its own.
Avatar m tn Now that I have my test results I will go gluten-free again and see what happens. Also, something new is joint and muscle pain. I feel like an old lady when I stand up or sit down.
Avatar f tn Help im 25 weeks pregnant and just started suffering with severe acid pain in my throat it keeps flareing up like i need to burp but really hurts my throat and find it hard to breathe. Is this normal and how do i ease it?
Avatar n tn I also had headaches (not anymore) intense anxiety for moments and muscle pain (on back and and abdomen) because I am very tense all the time. Yesterday was the worse of all. Horrible. The nausea was absolutely horrible, and I was so anxious that I felt like I was going to get crazy. And I am afraid that this is just starting. I took 10 mg of Paxil cause I couldn`t stand it anymore. My questions are: *Did I stop taking the Paxil very fast?
Avatar f tn I was reading and read that early in your pregnancy you have a high or progesterone and that relaxes the smooth muscle in your body. Your intestines are smooth muscle so you can really be bloated and mistake it for a baby bump. That's what happened to me and I am so glad because I was afraid I'd be huge with this baby since I've heard your first pregnancy is usually your smallest.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old and 115 pounds I was sick for a few days last week and went to the doctor. I was having something like muscle spasms in my chest under my ribs they told me I had massive acid reflux. So I have been drinking water and powerade (no soft drinks) since.
Avatar n tn 6 mo ago he had some internal trauma to the GI track (still have yet to be determined what happend), but he was put in zantac and flagyl for generic infections to the GI track. He was passing digested blood in some good quantity. Nevertheless - since then he has appeared to have twitching/muscle spasms that are concentrated to his chest region, front legs and can be seen in his back legs as well.
