zantac and nexium

Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

I went to a GI and she prescribed me with nexium in the morning (I usually take nexium everytime my gerd acts up) and zantac in the evening before bedtime. The next day, we went to my pulmonologist for my routine checkup, since I had primary spontaneous pneumothorax last november.

Not sure about Zante but pepcid and nexium is ok.

I was put on prilosec with no difference then zantac 300 mg and now nexium. The zantac showed improvement. Then went to a gastro and he changed me to 40 mg Nexium with marked improvement. I had an ultrasound, hyda scan both normal. I then had an endoscopy that showed stomach was irritated and and a raw spot in my esophagus. It appeared to be healing. I have changed what I eat and how with little difference.

I came across a happenstance. I was dx with Gerd in 1999 and was on zantac which after much time cleared up and zantac was stopped. Starting in 2001 I happened to get an SVT episode. In 2006 I had an afib episode and would have about 5 with each progressing year treated with verapamil "pill in the pocket".

Nope, Xanax. I was just saying how I'm trying to avoid heartburn, being off Nexium and all. But, nevermind, I looked it up and found out Xanax does wear away the area where the stomach meets the esophagus.

I have a hiatus hernia and gerd and I take nexium. Recently I started coughing ?acid or saliva while sleeping. It is annoying and wakes me up. However I find it is relieved by emptying my bladder, why is this? Do I need to worry?

I'm on Nexium, 20 mg a day, and have been for 5 years. Within the last six months they diagnosed me with PVCs, 8500 a day on average, when I never had them before. Naturally I'd like to get rid of the scary things. But how can you just go off Prilosec or Prevacid without getting acid rebound? I'd like to get off it because too little stomach acid can cause anemia, osteoporosis, and B12 deficiency. PPIs have been implicated in all of these.

My doctor prescribed Nexium but my insurance doesn't want to cover it, so it would be over $200 out of pocket. The pharmacist said it's because it's so similar to Prilosec, when the drug company lost their patent for Prilosec, they removed a isomer and named it Nexium. (Similar to what happen with Celexa and Lexapro) I don't get how Nexium is category B and Prilosec is C? How did you get your insurance to pay for it?

I take Nexium 40mg which is class b. I took it with my first 9 years ago and taking it now and im 37 weeks. Zantac, and tums didnt work for me either. ask your dr.

I was on 60-80mg of Nexium and after about 3 years of going through a lot of tests and alternatives I ended up having the Nissen Fundoplication on the 8th of Feb. 2012 and due to the longstanding GERD I have long segment of Barrets and damage to UES muscle. I am on 5mg Reglan 2-3 times daily for gastroparesis. Also, Nexium 40mg and zantac 150 mg. Is there any concern of being on any of these drugs long term?

I started taking Zantac 150 and it seemed okay but I started have occasional nausea and sharp pains in the stomach area. My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain!

The last year it has gotten worse where I occasionally wake up with back and throat pain but it is quickly resolved by getting up, moving around and taking tums. I have been to many gastro dr.s, have been on nexium and zantac and am mostly constipated (wondering if I have IBS-C?) For some reason, I am petrified of having pancreatic cancer and worry that the back pain could be this.

Did you ever try taking acid reflux meds or GERD meds? this may be a reason for it. Try and let us know.

I was diagnosed with Gerd in 2013 since then i have taken omperazole, nexium, zantac basically anything i could afford since the insurance stopped covering it. Ive had issues here an there with dysphia but lately it has gotten worse. I always cut my food in tiny bites i take my time in fact my kids pick on me cause i take so long to eat. But in the past 2 days i have had the issue 3 times. My new dr only wants me to try omperazole for another 3 months then she's sending me back to the gi dr.

You can take over the counter Zantac before eating. How often do you eat spicy food? Because if it bugs your stomach, I'd really suggest not eating it often. That can lead to stomach problems. If the Zantac doesn't help, try seeing a doctor. I take Nexium and Zantac (Ranitdine) and that doesn't always help, but I don't have the greatest stomach.

I have read that allergy meds combined with Zantac or Nexium help as well as the thyroid hormone. Read the post here about Hives and Hashimoto's. I am using Vaseline, which works much better than lotion.

My midwife even told me that after a while some quit working so switch to something else.

I suppose Nexium 40mg and Zantac 150mg each day that I was taking are considered either PPI and/or H2RA? Those are what I was instructed to stop 5-7 days prior to the test. Thank you!

and I think it was bad on me cuz i stopped the Zantac when I started the Nexium......I ended up in er cuz thought I was losing my mind and gonna have a nervous breakdown! So I don't know for sure if the Nexium made me feel worse or if it was from stopping the Zantac. Was having muscle twitches too.....having them today and yesterday again so I know it must be the Zantac as part of the problem.....this just really depresses me.....not postitive if my thyroid is part of the problem or not!

I went to my Dr today and told me to take nexium, is the safest thing right now, and my nurse told me that in Walmart they have a sale, 42 pills for $23.

I am taking 2 zantac and about a roll of rollaids and then at night chugging the Maalox. Nothing seems to help. I swear when I eat some ice cream trying to cool things off, I swear that ice cream curdles as soon as it hits my throat it is so hot. I am hungry, I just cant eat because it hurts so bad to swollow ANYTHING even just some ice water. What in the world is going on? What am I doing wrong that I am getting NO relief? I cant afford to have any test done.

s common with pregnancy. Take some antacids. Zantac, nexium, prilosec all work for 24 hrs. Try drinking some milk for some relief.

I started with tums and nothing, then with zantac and lately, it hasn't do anything, but this now, omg, I love it lol
