I just a negative today after 11.5 weeks.
I had sore throat and still do, been over 2.5 weeks now
I also have swollen lymph nodes in groin, armpit and throat and under my ear/ jaw (confirmed by doctor today).
Had fatigue as well. Could be from illness (virus) or just anxiety and stress.
I also have joint pains, specially my knee. Not as sore as it usually is when you have the flu, but still bothering.

Some of your symptoms such as fever and sore throat do overlap with the symptoms of recently acquire HIV infection however these same symptoms are also caused by a number of other far more common problems including both bacterial and viral (non-HIV) sore throats. In fact when symptoms typical of the ARS have been studied, less than 1% are due to HIV. Further, the presence of white patches on your throat is typical of bacterial (strep) throats.

The quick reply is that your risk was too low to even have HIV testing, regardless of your symptoms. Interesting to see those statistics on HIV in Scotland; that's less than one third the rate in the US.
While the timing of your symptoms, and some of your symptoms themselves, are consistent with a new HIV infection, absence of fever is strong evidence against acute HIV as the cause. In addition, HIV doesn't cause isolated lymph node enlargement only in one or two area, such as the head and neck or an armpit.

HI, I had sex with an escort 2 times in the month of oct(2009) nd nov(2009). My main concern is that in these 11 month's I have faced strange symptoms like breathing problem,ulcers in my mouth,rash on my stomach which is still present( it's in black color), bumps on my thighs(which is still present and I am having them from past 2 month's),feeling drowsy all the time,pain in my ribs,nd my skin color was changed to dark.
A recent blood work I did shows a very low WBC count and low neutrophils. Does HIV cause low WBC/Neutrophils.Could I be infected and do I need to take a test. Please advise.

Being scratched is not a risk for HIV infection. You don't have an HIV concern. Time to go to the liquor store and purchase a bottle of champagne, and enjoy life.
