A couple of weeks ago I realized that i was having trouble hitting higher pitches when I was talking. It also feels like theirs something in my throat. I cant sing anymore except in a lower tone without going up. I find my self running short on breath as I talk at times. Im not in pain, just curious about whats going one.
I had a bad cold and then got laryngitis. That lasted 3 weeks and then the 4th week my voice came back but still hoarse. I have pain on my left side of my neck and tenderness on that side when I swallow. Dr checked me out and said throat is not red and gave me pills for acid reflux. It's been 4 days and don't think its acid reflux....voice and neck still the same. Anyone know what it could be ??
Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
When using inhaled corticosteroids, some of the drug may deposit in your mouth and throat and cause laryngitis. This can cause coughing, hoarseness, dry mouth and sore throat. Gargling and rinsing the mouth after each puff on your corticosteroid inhaler, may help to prevent mouth and throat irritation.

s from an infection then you need to try to flush that infection out. I will get laryngitis also from constantly trying to clear my throat as well.
Not sure of your situation but I hope it clears soon cuz I know it can be brutal!!
But drinking lot of fluids, sucking lozenges, gargle with salt water, breathing moist air to soothe sore throat, refraining from taking decongestants (because they dry your throat), resting your larynx will help you. Antibiotics and anti inflammatory against prescription will help you. I suggest you to consult ENT specialist. Take care and regards.
t have any symptoms except difficulty in swallowing and discomfort in my throat. I feel like something is struck in my throat 70% of the time. I feel like soar throat if I shout loudly. I am fearing if I would have been infected with HSV1. Will this be Herpes Laryngittis/ pharyngitis? will viral Laryngitis/Pharyngitis get relief from antibiotics as I was feeling well in a day after I took them. Will Herpes Laryngitis/Pharyngitis cause no sores in the mouth, tounge or lips?
It could be due to varied causes like upper respiratory tract infection like laryngitis or pharyingitis, head and neck cancer, oral cancer, reflux laryngitis in people who have acidity and GERD, muscle abnormality, voice box abnormality, polyps, tumors or weakness of voice box etc.

After one month I went to an ENT and he said it was acute laryngitis. My voice has almost returned to normal but there is a connstant tightness in my throat. If I cough the tightness goes away for a short time. It's very obvious when I try to talk. I get choked by the tightness and cough. Sometimes even after I cough I have trouble talking because of the tightness in my throat.
I lost my voice about two weeks ago from yelling far too much at a party. Since then, I've been able to speak, but I get pain in the left side of my throat and my ear when I talk for more than a minute. In general, I feel discomfort/a small lump in my throat when I swallow which is really what hurts. My voice sounds totally normal, though.
Hi everyone. I have been suffering from GERD for years. I recently got a teaching job, and from day one of talking I've felt extreme throat pain. My ENT confirmed I have Reflux Laryngitis, and ramped up my meds. I was taking Nexium, and keeping weight under control. Now she added Zantac and some allergy meds for my post nasal drip. Has anyone had a job that they talk all day, and due to the GERD had severe throat pain and/or Laryngitis? How long did it last?

10 days before I got sharp pain in my neck and later on I always feel there something stuck in my throat and later on pain in righ side of the neck and now having ear pain with it ...I checked up with doctor he has given me some medicine and said take medicine and show me after 10 days if again same problem then we need to do sonography.... Can this be throat cancer i smoke and now I quit ....
I called my doctor, who changed me to Azithromycin. My laryngitis is better. Most of the sore throat is gone. However, I still have sore swollen glands, and I still have a large white pocket in my throat (Next to my Faucial Pillars). Is this typical? How long should I give it for the white patch and gland stuff to go away?
I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. I went thru same illness 5months ago was in the hospital & then passed around to various specialists without any real answers. I'm a 27 year old female and I have now had a sore throat for 3 weeks. My symptoms initially began as a cold with chest congestion, extreme throat pain, fatigue, and a fever for the first two days. Almost all of those symptoms went away within one week and now I'm left with the sore throat. I also have post nasal drip so I'm wondering if this is causing the pain. The pain seems to get worse in the evening or in cold temperatures. It hurts to talk also.
I tried looking at my throat in the mirror and noticed something at the back of my throat that I’ve never seen before in my life. I looked it up and I guess that my epiglottis is also raised.
I still had neck tightness n the popping but I did regain my voice. I made the mistake of taking that as a sign that I was good to start singing again. Later on that night my voice was nearly gone/completely hoarse it even hurt to speak.

Hello I was wondering if its normal to have dark red veins on the back of throat? I have no symptoms, but I did have acute laryngitis two months ago. Ever since then I had no symptoms, but I still feel skeptical when I see those veins on the back of my throat, so should I be worried?
I have a problem with my throat feeling very rough and tight. It feels like I can not get the air right at night and I have a very nasty cough. It feels like it is swelling and I am always without a voice. It feels like my throat is tight day and night for some reason. I do have breathing problems and I do not smoke. I have lost 60 pounds and my doctor is taking me off depression pills slowly. The only thing new in my home is my plants with fresh earth and none of them flower.

there was no shortness of breath - just the extreme burning sensation and then the immediate uncharacterisitc hoarsness/laryngitis for about two hours; it took much effort to talk and throat clearing did not help. I've had heart burn before but never to this degree.
