Throat pain under adam's apple
Common Questions and Answers about Throat pain under adam's apple
s apple with and without swallowing. I also have occasional pain that moves around on the sides under the Adam's apple and can be pretty intense after eating. Sometimes but not always my throat also tightens and I feel like I am choking and it is somewhat more difficult to breathe about 15-20 mins after eating. Also, after talking for a while my voice starts to get rough. I can still eat okay without much problem swallowing.
Went to get a endescopy I had a little bit of redness on the lower part of the esophagus I still have that twitching pain on the left side top of my Adam's apple and a scratchy feeling on my throat throat feel heavy
It hurts to swallow and has for about the last 10 days. But it isn't like any sore throat I've ever had. Only swallowing causes the pain. Its on the left side a little above my adam's apple and I have no fever. I did start having thyroid problems about 18 months ago but am treating it with replacement hormone. My TSH is good so that appears under control. Could this be a thyroid problem?
Almost one week ago I started having horrible pain in my neck left side that radiated to my jaw and ear. I looked in the mirror and it seemed like I have swelling on the left side of my adam's apple. The swelling doesn't hurt when I touch it but its a bit hard. Furthermore I noticed that I had a second adam's apple under my first one but its only visible when I lift my head all the way up.
Am very regular with the tablets. But for the past one day ,am getting a pain on the outer throat and neck region ,precisely form under the chin down the wind /food pipe till the collar bone.Am worried and would like to know if ti is due to my thyroid problem.
I woke up about 5 days ago with a weird little sore area way down deep in my throat to the left of my Adam's apple. I didn't think anything of it because the pain was almost unnoticeable. That was Thursday; by Saturday, the painful area had "grown" to a more substantial size around the left side of my Adam's apple, and it hurt to swallow. I thought it might be a canker sore deep in my throat and started taking Ibuprofin for the pain, which helped only a little.
I have a small lump(about the size of my adam's apple) in the front of my throat, underneath my adam's apple. I'm kind of worried as to what it may be. I've read online as to what it could be, but I have few if any symptoms as to what it may be. It doesnt hurt, I cant move it, and its not getting bigger or anything. Does anyone know what this could be. Thank you for any help.
I have had a tender throat to the touch under the Adam's apple region for about two weeks now. I can't even stand to touch it. If I press ion it it almost makes me gag. My throat feels somewhat restricted as well. I have sleep apnea but use a CPAP machine at night. I have also had a nose surgery for turbenectomy (spelling) and something else (forgot) deviated septum I think. Anyway just wondering if I should get this looked at or wait for a week or so.
it is very uncomfortable and i can certainly wait it out for another week or so to see if the pain will go away. it is not a constant pain, however, when i feel the pain, it radiates. Does it sound like the thyroid or something else?
A week ago, I started noticing that my adam's apple is growing. I'm a teen. While I was pressing on it, I felt under it something like another small adam's apple. I ve seen other guys with it, which didn't worry me that much. But as I was checking my neck I felt something vertical above adam's apple by less half an inch is moving along with it. Also that thing under the lyrnex moves. The three moves when I swallow. What it could be? I'm 17.
I have question for anyone who may have some insight on my problem. I have had burning, stabbing pain in back of the bottom part of the neck, and also under my chin on the side of the adam's apple that runs down to my clavicle. I went to see my primary doctor today and the lymph nodes under the chin are very swollen and are causing me excruciating pain that runs all the way to my ears. The ears and throat have a very deep ache.
I have no difficulty swallowing and I don't have a sore throat feeling but on the lower part of my throat I have a weird ache that comes and goes sporadically. When I press on it I feel my trachea and it hurts like if its bruised.when I press it. I don't know what it is. I maybe thought it was a swollen lymph but no palpable nodes, its like the trachea directly right under the adam's apple.?
I am a 24 year old male with no known health conditions. I have a small and round bump about an inch to the left and slightly over the adam's apple, just under the skin. It didn't develop slowly but rather just appeared. It is not painful unless I press on it, but it is noticeable. About a day after I noticed it, I feel a "sore throat" like feeling when I swallow but it is confined to that small area.
My throat has been making a clicking/grinding noise when I swallow. If I place a finger over my adam's apple when I swallow, I can feel sort of a "pop". There is no pain. My throat also feels a little tight. Any ideas what this could be?
I seem to have a hole of some sort in my throat directly to the left of my adam's apple. It sounds wierd but I have discovered that when I close my mouth and nose and try to force air up my throat it seems to escape out of this area. There has been minor pain at times when swallowing or yawning and sneezing.
For the past 12 years or so I have suffered from an odd sensation after swallowing anything more than liquid (This includes imodium tablets which are tiny).
The sensation is a lump that starts on the right hand side of the throat, under the adam's apple, and just a little to the left of where the point of the jawbone is (The furthest point towards the throat). After a few minutes, the lump will move to the center of the throat just under the front of the adam's but still under it.
ok im 16 and i have this weird pain on my thraot neck area. on the front to my left side around where the adam's apple should be..i think ...and it hurts like a needly pain and i have a little ball there. when i swallow my throat feels a little wierd like almost closing up and my left ear also itches and hurts. i dont knwo if it has anythign to do but my breasts hurt it hin they're just growing but you never know adn i get this weird pain on my neck back shoulders and abdomen.
I have swollen lymph node right above my Adam's Apple on my right side and a few on my neck that I am not sure of whether they are swollen or not because they move but the one above my Adam's Apple does not move. Over the last two weeks I had stomach pains a lot of belching, gas, and bloating which over the last few days have gone away.
a friend of mine has a daughter aged 18yrs. since two years or so, i learn that as evening and night approaches she experiences as if her throat is being pressed under the adam's apple, and that she experiences a crawly sensation in the head in different parts at different occassions, leading to no sleep, and followed by slumber the next day. severe cases she bled from eyes too later. currently no diagnosis could be made, what could be the reason and how to approach.
I've had a sore throat now for a little over two months. It started in December when I noticed that the space right beneath my Adam's apple felt very tight, accompanied by a dull pain. I didn't think much of it, but I remember feeling a vague ache in my ears. In the middle of January, my throat started to feel scratchy. I had light surgery done on my stomach for an unrelated matter at the end of January and ever since then, my throat has been very raw and painful.
I am having what looks like a slightly larger appearance of a "heart-like strip" below my adam's apple. I can feel a mile (nearly non-existent) ache always from that area. My doctor tells me it is my thyroid. It looks like it is mildly swelled up, and has been there for 4-5 days.
A few weeks ago, I had a wisdom tooth extracted, and had swelling and slight pain in the surgical site areas.
Thanks for your note and for your words of support. I didn't realize this would be such a process. But I suppose when surgery is involved there is no such thing as "straightforward."
Good luck with everything and please keep me posted with how you're doing.
I hope to see my new endo next week and in the meantime will ask my internist to reduce my dosage.
Re your post above, I too feel pain and tenderness just above my Adam's apple.
