I have been told the only thing you can take for pain is tylenol, but with a sore throat you can also have cepacol lozenges. Also gurgling warm salt water helps me as long as my gag reflex doesn't kick in!

My throat hurts alott especially when i swallow food what kinda medicine can i drink so it can go away ?

I went and bought hard candies like worthers original instead of cough drops they taste better anyways lol and they basically coat your throat the same way without the worry of the medicine in the cough drops :)

I have been sick for the past four days now and nothing I am doing is helping me get better! But with the help of the 600mg ibuprofen my throat pain toned down a bit and i was able to finally spit out all that phlegm (sorry if thats gross to you) but then i take a look at the phlegm and i see little bits of what appears to be blood.
