I have a red patch of skin that appears on my neck from time to time. It gets very hot and bright red and stays there for 1-3 hours and then returns to its natural pale color. This usually happens a few times a week. It doesn't seem to be affected by temperature and I haven't been able to correlate it to anything else. The skin itself itchy and doesn't feel dry ... or anything besides really, really warm.
Have you heard of anything like this before? Should I be worried?
Whenever I get wet my skin becomes extremely dry like its being pulled back on myseelf. It started as a red rash on my neck and has progressed to this. I've been to the doctors and dermatologist none of them know anything they put me a anti fungal cream which seem not to be working any ideas of what I may have?

I cannot confirm anything without examination,but it can be due to seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily).
Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching.
No treatment is usually required. In most patients, the condition lasts only a matter of weeks or months(upto six months).
If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
I noticed an itchy rash on my neck days ago, but, being winter in Canada, thought nothing of it-- thought it dry skin, even though my skin is not overly dry, or my somewhat sensitive skin was irritated. Hi i am a 16 year old female and for about a month and a half i been having these dry patches on both my hands and of both sides of my neck....The dry patches on my hands are located between the thumb and the index finger and it feels dry ,rough,Itchy and on some occasion it burns and then once it feels burn the area that is burning Turns red.
We decided to use a topical cream, for the more oily areas on my face, and for me to take a 100mg dosage of Apo-Minocycline two times a day (morning and night). I'm 25w2d and I have had the rash for a month I've been to my ob twice my primary 3 times a walk in clinic once and the er twice. It's nothing like an allergic reaction and it's not infections or harming me or the baby just annoying the poo out of me. It's a type of dermatitis due to me having super dry sensitive skin and being pregnant so it's basically a pregnancy related/caused dermatitis..
Other differentials for a rash will be psoriasis , a fungal infection or a viral infection. You have noted of dry skin along the hairline. With regards to the rash, would you be able to identify any scales in the area also? Psoriatic rash may involve the scalp and they may present with some patches of scales. There are cases of psoriasis which do not present with the scales. As for seborrheic dermatitis, they may present with some dryness and flaking of the scalp.
I have had itchy, dry patches all over my upper chest, neck, and upper back, with a few extending to my underarms, lower back, and lower abdomen for over a month, almost a month and a half now. They were very red when they started, a few of them tan-ish, and not near as itchy as they are now. Now they are smaller patches, pinkish, and very itchy. They change a little very day. I have tried antihistamines and cortisone ointment, but that didn't help at all, so it isn't an allergy.
It then turned into a small dry patch of skin, until it flaked off and cleared away. I used some hydrocortisone cream on it. Then a few weeks later I noticed another spot on my torso. I immediately used hydro cream on it and it didn't get any bigger than a pencil erasure and cleared up much more quickly. I then got another on my chest which remained even smaller and now I think I see one beginning on my forearm. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I have non-itchy, non-painful, red raised sploches on my stomach, chest and neck. Sometimes dry looking and sometimes get really dark or almost fade away. It isn't uncomfortable, just not nice to look at. I want to be able to wear a bikini this summer but won't looking like this. Any help would be much apprieciated.
I have these like little white bumps on my forearms, and on my wrists, al I have white spots and patches on my neck, a little bit on my shoulders, not so many on my back, and there are these like brownish spots on my chest, and after I take showers, all the spots seem to get dry.. On my neck, the patches get dry too and it seems like a blackish layer of skin appears near the patches, also all the white spots seem to get whiter everytime I'm done with the shower...
My daughter is just over 4 months and I noticed after her bath today that in one of he neck creases it was really red. My wife had a small rash on her face and now she is complaining about her face being dry. I was told it was no risk for hiv but I never had any issues before I had sex with a CSW. I recently discoverd a rash on my scrotum last week it forst started as just really red icthy skin then later devolped into dry red icthy skin on scrotum and penis...then i discoverd a red rash formimg on my neck and chest..then discoverd clear bumps on my hands..what could this possibly be...does it sound like heat rash??
