Neck rash dry skin

Common Questions and Answers about Neck rash dry skin

Avatar f tn I have a red patch of skin that appears on my neck from time to time. It gets very hot and bright red and stays there for 1-3 hours and then returns to its natural pale color. This usually happens a few times a week. It doesn't seem to be affected by temperature and I haven't been able to correlate it to anything else. The skin itself itchy and doesn't feel dry ... or anything besides really, really warm. Have you heard of anything like this before? Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Whenever I get wet my skin becomes extremely dry like its being pulled back on myseelf. It started as a red rash on my neck and has progressed to this. Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be due to seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily).
Avatar n tn The back of my neck, around my hair line, has been itching for months. I have always just assumed it was dry skin, or my scalp was dry. There are like 6 different spots on my neck. I am wondering if it is Psoriasis? If anyone has any information, its greatly appriciated.
Avatar f tn Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching. No treatment is usually required. In most patients, the condition lasts only a matter of weeks or months(upto six months). If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn It is a red rash sometimes it is dry and it sometimes itches. When I get this rash I also have a rash on my scalp I compare it to that of a baby with cradle cap. It comes and goes not sure if it is brought on by major stress or medications. seems the two usually go hand and hand. When I get really stressed I shack like I am freezing to death. Could that be a symptom or just anxiety? How can I make sure I have not developed Lupus?
Avatar f tn I noticed an itchy rash on my neck days ago, but, being winter in Canada, thought nothing of it-- thought it dry skin, even though my skin is not overly dry, or my somewhat sensitive skin was irritated. Now I have rash all over body-- neck, chest, arms, legs, back, behind. Rash is not *****-- no heads. Some are raised, some are flat. It looks different from my typical allergy, dry skin, razor rash skin reaction.

Avatar f tn We decided to use a topical cream, for the more oily areas on my face, and for me to take a 100mg dosage of Apo-Minocycline two times a day (morning and night). This worked fantastic for a few months. Eventually, I developed this odd rash on one side of my neck. The skin was very red and dry, somewhat scaly/bumpy, a bit raised, uneven + about the size/shape of my thumb. It kind of itched/hurt as well. I wasn't sure if it was connected to my skincare or not, so I continued with my routine.
Avatar f tn I'm 25w2d and I have had the rash for a month I've been to my ob twice my primary 3 times a walk in clinic once and the er twice. It's nothing like an allergic reaction and it's not infections or harming me or the baby just annoying the poo out of me. It's a type of dermatitis due to me having super dry sensitive skin and being pregnant so it's basically a pregnancy related/caused dermatitis..
Avatar m tn Other differentials for a rash will be psoriasis , a fungal infection or a viral infection. You have noted of dry skin along the hairline. With regards to the rash, would you be able to identify any scales in the area also? Psoriatic rash may involve the scalp and they may present with some patches of scales. There are cases of psoriasis which do not present with the scales. As for seborrheic dermatitis, they may present with some dryness and flaking of the scalp.
Avatar f tn I have had itchy, dry patches all over my upper chest, neck, and upper back, with a few extending to my underarms, lower back, and lower abdomen for over a month, almost a month and a half now. They were very red when they started, a few of them tan-ish, and not near as itchy as they are now. Now they are smaller patches, pinkish, and very itchy. They change a little very day. I have tried antihistamines and cortisone ointment, but that didn't help at all, so it isn't an allergy.

Avatar m tn It then turned into a small dry patch of skin, until it flaked off and cleared away. I used some hydrocortisone cream on it. Then a few weeks later I noticed another spot on my torso. I immediately used hydro cream on it and it didn't get any bigger than a pencil erasure and cleared up much more quickly. I then got another on my chest which remained even smaller and now I think I see one beginning on my forearm. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Avatar m tn The lymph nodes are swollen along the neck and behind the ears. The rash develops up to five days after the symptoms first occur. The rash is described as small red patches and bumps that start on the face and neck and disappears the same way it came. Otherwise, you may need to have this checked by your doctor. Direct clinical examination of the rash is important for proper diagnosis.
Avatar n tn I have developed itchy upper chest and neck over last few weeks without a rash. I am 42, could this be a symptom of pre menopause?
Avatar n tn It is more likely to occur on the neck and upper chest, in the groin, under the breasts, and in elbow creases. Adults usually develop heat rash in skin folds and wherever clothing causes friction. Most often, heat rash goes away on its own. Severe forms of heat rash may need medical care, but the best way to relieve symptoms is to cool your skin and prevent sweating. Keep the affected area dry. Dusting powder may be used to increase comfort.
