Avatar m tn I was also wondering if some people could describe their initial symptoms of leukaemia wether it be a rash or chronic cough just anything would help thanks.
Avatar n tn The analysis found an increased risk of death due to leukemia, particularly myeloid leukemia, among the workers exposed to formaldehyde. This risk was associated with increasing peak and average levels of exposure and the duration of exposure, but not cumulative exposure. Another study of 14,014 textile workers performed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) also found an association between the duration of exposure to formaldehyde and leukemia deaths.
Avatar f tn These abnormal cells are found in Leukemia. Also rash and neck swelling are compatible with Leukemia. Although I believe there can be other causes for that, so do not rush for diagnosis. The good sign is that his WBC are high not low, that is the opposite to Leukemia and therefore I don't think that bone marrow biopsy is the priority, it is also an invasive test. Also he should have been feeling very weak, with pallor, low hemoglobin and platelets! None of that I reckon.
Avatar f tn They can lead to specific types of anemia but not leukemia. If a patient already has leukemia, then red blood cell production and utilization of these elements becomes impaired, and can lead to anemia. Your symptoms may be indicative of both conditions (lymphoma or leukemia). Other possibilities would include chronic infections such as tuberculosis. I hope that the PET scan can be done soon and tell us useful information.
1553907 tn?1367609586 There are a few The red spots are probably petechiae and are more due to the high blood count than a rash or anything. I would worry about the H. pylori secondly. But it does need to get treated. Are you allergic to all antibiotics that they treat it with or all antibiotics? I am like that with topicals. I don't want to scare you as to what you may have before they do an exam on you. But if you want my opinion and I am not a doctor I will tell you.
Avatar n tn I am a leukemia survivor. I have developed dry dark patches on my back. What caused it? What's the best treatment?
Avatar f tn I have a suddenly-appearing red rash on both upper thighs and below navel. Rash is slightly raised, has no blisters, and does not itch. I have not changed my laundry detergent, body wash, lotions, or anything else that touches that part of my body. What could this rash be?
Avatar f tn hi i have developed a rash that looks like little blood spots under my skin. i feel well but am getting alot of headaches. these things do not dissapear under pressure.they are worse when im hot or when my blood pressure is up. any ideas?
Avatar f tn The redness and itchiness was gone however the skin where it had been still felt slightly raised, just now skin tone. Despite the rash seeming to have gone away, I've still been itchy ever since getting it (mostly on my stomach and occasionally my legs or the underside of my chin). However in those spots, there wasn't any rash and still isn't. But now, I woke up to see that one of my hands that the rash had been on is now speckled with red, just barely raised spots.
Avatar f tn I have not had blochy skin or rashes but I have had dry skin and my hair comes out in small clumps in the shower. My family has a history of heart problems, and leukemia, although I did not find out about the leukemia until a couple of days ago. My daughter told me that my great grandmother on her side had passed as a result.
Avatar m tn My neurologist sent me to an oncologist who took about 40 tubes of blood from me and performed a bone marrow biopsy to test for leukemia. The results of these tests came back negative. From there we just kind of left it alone for awhile. I started having bad headaches; I usually don’t get headaches and have a very low pain tolerance so there’s no telling how bad they really are.
1939607 tn?1324289300 Hello! I am a relatively healthy 25-year old female. I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol and I try to lead a healthy lifestyle. I have no family history of Leukemia/Lymphoma. I've had Infectious Mononucleosis when I was 16 years old, the antibodies are still detected in my bloodstream so I suppose I can't get it again (right?). Last week, I shaved my armpits and put deodorant on right away. It stang and the following day I woke up with a sore and itchy rash under both armpits.
Avatar m tn well the symptoms you describe are typically related to leukemia or lymphoma but you should have a biopsy to be sure
Avatar n tn my 11 month old grand baby boy has had many ear infections, vomiting weight loss skin rash, tiny red raised bumps all over his body unable to keep food/liquids down, could this be linked to childrens lukemia?
Avatar m tn I have what I thought might be dry skin patches on my leg but having looked closer, they're more like small red bruises (about 1 cm in size)...there's four. I was going to wait a while longer to see whether they go but I think they might be Purpura and apparently you should get those checked out asap - can anyone tell me what they might be? C I'm starting to panic a bit!
Avatar f tn MDS is NOT Leukemia, but a precursor to Leukemia. Which does your husband have? The link to the Plavix and this abnormal syndrome and Leukemia is there but the occurrence is rare.

Avatar m tn I suggest that you have the lymph nodes evaluated and possibly undergo a biopsy procedure to rule out these conditions. If ever diagnosed with lymphoma or leukemia, chemotherapy may be warranted. Lymphoma and leukemia are curable childhood diseases. Regards.
Avatar f tn i had a sister who died of leukemia and two uncles, grandmother and one aunt who died of lympomia. any comments or suggestions is greatly appreciated. thank you so much.
