My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made.
-I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur.
- I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
I am 21 and i am not the fittest person ever, but i am not awful, i have recently started running again (as the weather is nicer) and i have found that after a shorter and shorter length i time i start to get a stabbing pain in the right side abdomen area, once i stop running then the pain stops but as soon as i start again it comes back. I am easing myself back into running quite slowing i don't run too fast but the pain is really starting to get annoying.

Unilateral headache may be due to migraine, ear, sinus or jaw infections, temporal arteritis. Pain on one side of the head, in an elderly patient, brought about or increased by cold and during night times can well be temporal arteritis. Other signs like anemia, fever and high ESR, weight loss, sweats also may be seen. This may be accompanied by pain in the neck, back. If your mother has any of the other symptoms, you must immediately consult your GP and ask to be investigated.
When I touch anything that is cold like,holding a glass of tea,my hands swell up & starts to hurt & itch & burn & turns RED.. Also when I drink something that is really cold , it hurts my heart ,my insides, I have pain all around my HEART.I am 35years of age, and theses symptoms started 2 years ago.I have no health ins. please HELP me with some advise.
m not sure if that is true in your life or not...as for the cold weather...I know when I am in the cold all my joints stiffen and ache so I'm sure it is a factor as well.
Another factor in Nov. is lack of sunshine which brings down the Vitamin D count and frankly, causes me to feel a little depressed...which does not help the pain. Have you tried taking Vit D supplements?
I'm in Illinois. We're supposed to have a snow storm tomorrow. So not looking forward to that lol. And I just noticed I'm leaking colostrum so I'm sure being wet around that area isn't helping. I have some pads I'm gonna try to use when it gets colder. But Minnesota is definitely colder than Illinois. I'm so sorry lol.
It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not. I never had any jaw problems before having my wisdom tooth out, my jaw had never even locked before. It is very frustrating and I just want to know what could have happened and how I might make it better?!?!
I have been suffering for the past 3 years with what seems to be an allergic reaction to cold weather. When the weather begins to turn cold and the humidity decreases I get very congested and asthma. It comes on strong at dusk when the temperature starts to go down. I am a runner and I get asthma while running below about 50 or so degrees. Seems to be getting worse each year.
For the running I have found that if I wear a neck gator or a "buff" up over my mouth relieves the asthma.

Hello. I am 44 year old. Never smoked. History of MVP and PAC's. For the last year I have been having symptoms that mimic that of Prinzmetal's Angina. Frequent daily chest pain for weeks. A few months of almost no pain, then cycle starts again. Never short of breath. I get the associated left shoulder, arm, neck, jaw, teeth pain. Also get pain in left upper back.
I m not sure if this is a cold or allergy. i dont have any pain in my throat. i seem to be getting it every other day. Running nose, continuous sneezes especially with change of temperature like Outdoors, AC rooms etc. I take half a tablet of Cetrizine which makes me feel better, but it feels like the i m not able to completly get over this cold. What should i do. Even when m joggin, my nose starts to runs. Is it the weather??
someone told me since your body core temp is up from working out and the weather is cold that when you bundle up for the cold weather that is the reason, is that possible? i don't have insurance at the moment (monetary issues), have no medical history, but if it is necessary i should get it checked if it persists. thanks for your advice.
I do have a lot of neck pain that extends down my back and into my jaw as well and have been told that this can contribute to chest pain. I'm honestly running out of ideas. I had a follow up with my cardiologist and he said that he is confident that there is nothing wrong with my heart, but I can't help worrying about it. My father had a bypass at 40 and my grandmother had a quad-bypass as well. I had my cholesterol checked and it was normal, but my triglycerides were 239.
The jaw settled, but I continued having problems with tongue and neck, and throat when I swallow and under jaw when I swallow, where glands are ( on one side only). Cold weather seems to affect all this, mainly throat and neck. Tongue remains continually sore and I have tried the thrush medication prescribed by doctor but it hasn't worked; also tried rinsing with salt water + bi-carb soda.
Any help/comments would be appreciated.
t suppose to shovel snow in the cold if they are not in good shape. I have had problems running in the cold in the past pre-ablation for AFIB. Since my ablation I just have chosen not to run in the cold. I use to run when it was below zero all the time.
When you run outside in the cold do you keep your heart rate down so that you can talk? Most exercise experts state that you should reduce intensity in severe cold or heat. Too much stress on the system.
At a certain point i have to stop running because of the pain. After i stop running, i cant take deep breaths without this stabbing pain at the top of my chest, and as a result of trying to breathe harder i end up coughing, and sometimes i cough up mucus like i have a cold. Also, right at the time the chest pains happen, i start feeling dizzy, like im dehydrated. Hours after i have stopped running, i still have extremely minor pains when breathing normally.
