Avatar f tn and many times it is the fact we tighten up and clench up everything including our jaw when we r cold...so this also may be a part of ur pain.... Carry a sweater with u , I do all the time in fact I even carry a sweatshirt with a hoodie in the summer cuz I get cold....and I found that I do tend to tense up all my muscles when I am cold.... Try to think about it next time u r cold...stick ur tongue btwn ur teeth every so often to be sure u r not hold ur jaw firm.
Avatar f tn It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not. I never had any jaw problems before having my wisdom tooth out, my jaw had never even locked before. It is very frustrating and I just want to know what could have happened and how I might make it better?!?!
Avatar n tn The dentist told me when the permanent went on, this pain would go away, but it has not and I still have intermittent jaw painn. There is no hot/cold sensivity or pain when biting and the crown feels completely normal. Is this something I should be concerned about? How long might it go on?
Avatar m tn I had four cavities filled two weeks ago two molars on top and two molars on the bottom. Two days after they were filled I had several pain in my right jaw and gum. I went back and had the bite fixed. But by the weekend, I was in pain again. The dentist called in Tylenol with Codine. By Tuesday I went back to the dentist and they took an xray. They claimed my teeth look fine but since I was in pain in the one back molar they removed that filling and redrilled and filled it.
Avatar f tn it always hurts.. its a throbbing pain.
Avatar n tn The pain is still mainly in my jaw but I have noticed that hot/cold causes the pain in my jaw to intensify so I am not sure if the pain in my jaw is just pain radiating from my tooth. Any thoughts on if it is just a pulpitis situation and may calm down without further work being done? Thank you.
Avatar n tn kind of sensitive to the touch, but there was no bruising no swelling so temperature change and it went from above my right eyebrow across to my temple and down under my jaw line. Even my eye hurt a little. The whole right side of my face basically. Consequently I also woke up with a several cold sores in the corner which hurt worse than any I've had. Yesterday it felt the same but around my cheek and jaw it started feeling warm to touch.
Avatar m tn Other than thermal sensitivity, occlusal interference may induce a variety of other symptoms, such as, hurt when chewing, gum pain or discomfort, jaw bone aching, sensitivity to touch, masticatory muscle pain which may manifest as headache, tmj tightness or pain, and stuffy ear or pressure. Going back to your restorative dentist to have more meticulous occlusal adjustment is advised.
Avatar f tn t think I needed a root canal at this point but that during the dental procedure, the ligaments in my jaw were pulled (it was a long procedure, I have a very small mouth and she did a lot of jerking on my jaw) which changed my bite. He filed a tiny bit on the back molar and took the pressure off those teeth, which immediately made a big difference. Now, however, the area where the pressure was shifted to has started to ache off and on.
Avatar n tn I am taking way too much ibuprofen. Had 2 crowns on bottom back 2 teeth in Feb. Continue to have pain in jaw/ear. Teeth don't hurt - I don't think they are terribly sensitive to cold. I have appt. Monday with dentist. What can he do - what can I tell him? Will xrays see if there is infection? What if I need root canal - what will happen to my crowns?
Avatar f tn observation they said that it was muscle pain, not heart pain. By that time the pain was gone. Now today again I got left chest pain along with some jaw pain. I am writing with a nitroglycerine tab under my tongue. With slighest wind or loud sound I am getting ear pain and throat pain nowadays. Now I get panicked with jaw pain. How can I distinguish that these chest pains and jaw pains are related to heart or not? Please help me to get rid of this situation.
Avatar m tn The procedure took about 45 mins and during the drilling phase, I started to get a build up of pain in my lower jaw, which I initailly attributed to the cold water that is used during the drilling process. 5 days after the filling was done, I was still getting a lot of pain from both the tooth and my lower jaw. The tooth that was filled is extremely sensitive to the cold air test and the dentist suspects that there may be an infection in the tooth and has put me on a course of amoxycilin.
Avatar n tn But I also have pain in my jaw at random times that is true TMJ pain. I also have a sinus infection, which makes my jaw hurt too! 3. The tooth doesn't hurt spontaneously, but it's so close to my jaw, I'm paranoid that I'm mistaking a dying nerve for TMJ. Would a dying nerve react positively to heat or ice on the outside of the face? I use a heat pack or ice pack on my jaw and that takes the pain away.
Avatar f tn You did say you had a deep cavity on one of the upper right teeth. If this cavity has gone deep enough or a dentist has drilled on it (which happened to me) it can compromise the pulp chamber - and that is the worst pain I have ever experienced with a tooth! There has to be a reason for the pain - don't ignore it because (chances are) it will only get worse with time. I wish you the best!
1827123 tn?1383865276 Good Morning! Just wondering if any of you have ever experienced jaw pain with CM? It started near my ear and has progressed over the last few days. Now the pain is in upper and lower jaw to the mid line. VERY uncomfortable, and I'm not sure what is causing it.
Avatar n tn I also have tooth pain after having a filling done. But, my entire left jaw hurts, upper and lower. However, the lower is much more painful. The pain comes and goes. It will hurt for about an hour, so bad I can hardly stand it and then it stops. A few hours later, it begins again. My teeth on the left side are very sensitive to hot and cold. I've just been taking Tylenol for relief, which isn't much. Help!
Avatar f tn I have had blood work to check for infection, pituitary issues, arthritis, and thyroid issues. A round of antibiotics has brought no help. Had a normal CT done this week. It is not a clogged salivary gland and all the teeth are in good shape with no roots seeming to have gotten to close when the fillings were done. The pain does radiate from under and inside the jaw line and effects my ear and tongue on the left side. Any ideas where to go now?
Avatar m tn Yes! me. I wound up having jaw surgery (btw it didn't fix it) but the TMJ was making my ear messed up. I had horrible dizzy spells and nausea along with the swelling. I kept going to the ear doctor, I'd get drops Lidocaine to help numb things as the pain was awful and the noise in that ear was terrible. My hearing improved too! The surgery didn't work out for me, I still have alot of problems. I do cold laser and chiropractic adjustments to the jaw.
424634 tn?1277857528 I have the same problem and can't find a cause/cure. Oddly, my pain is worse about 15 min after I get back from being out. Nothing seems to help - wrapping my face before or hot compress afterwords. The pain is an 8-9.
Avatar m tn Just to add on to the above, i've had a small node below my jaw which is movable but not painful. But this is only below my left jaw, nothing on my right jaw. And i dont have any issues in my throat. No sore throat.
Avatar n tn i have very much the same problem. About 3 weeks ago, i had several old fillings replaced with composite and since then have had pain in addition to sensitivity to both hot and cold. In addition, I've developed jaw pain in addition to some ear pain. While it's a great diet aid as I don't want to eat, the pain is terrible. I told my dentist and he suggested occlusal adjustment. I understand this is done for TMJ but this was never an issue for me prior to the fillings.
Avatar n tn Im a 51 year old female been going through my menopause hot an cold mood swings, cant sleep resently my jaw on my cheek have started hurting to the touch, its not my teeth or my gums i healthly going out doing yard work I have put on some weight gain im tryn to keep that under control but its just my jaw why would it start hurting me now please help me understand whats happenning
Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
