Jaw pain when running

Common Questions and Answers about Jaw pain when running

jaw-pain

Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
Avatar f tn I have been having pretty uncomfortable pain in my jaw and neck after running coupled with coughing and scratchy throat. I plan to go to the doctor to see if I have exercise induced asthma. I hope you went to the doctor. Those are some very serious side effects you are having!
Avatar f tn I am 21 and i am not the fittest person ever, but i am not awful, i have recently started running again (as the weather is nicer) and i have found that after a shorter and shorter length i time i start to get a stabbing pain in the right side abdomen area, once i stop running then the pain stops but as soon as i start again it comes back. I am easing myself back into running quite slowing i don't run too fast but the pain is really starting to get annoying.
Avatar m tn Press under the corner of your jaw (by your ear) to feel if it is unusually tender. When these muscles spasm it can cause strong ear pain just as you describe Try this next time it starts to hurt: use a massage vibrator from behind the ear, to down under the jaw, working your way to where the clavicle meets the base of the neck next to the esophagus.
Avatar n tn Hi there, for me it started when i lose my voice (not competely) but no pain in the throat area. then area around my left jaw joint area (below the ear) starts to feel uncomfortable especially every time i moved my jaw or open my mouth wide to eat something. i dont have toothache etc. then i start to have running nose and nose block. i went to see a GP, he say there is slight infection in the ear and nose. i was on medication for 6 days.
Avatar f tn Pulse is normally low in the 50s but does manage to get into the low 60s with training. Blood pressure remains unchanged. No arm or jaw pain, but I really feel like I can not catch enough oxygen and I may pass out. I try to train in the evening when it is cooler and the sun is not as strong. I am beginning to think I have a heart problem. My physician does not think so but am going for a cadiac workup anyway. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
730826 tn?1317943334 I am not sure what other symptoms you may have, or what correlation there is to running, but when I put tongue pain into the new Medhelp symptom tracker, the 7 possible causes were: tongue problems, Glossitis, iron deficiency anemia, folate deficiency anemia, Pernicious anemia, Megaloblastic anemia, and Chlorine Poisoning. Most of these are one form or another of anemia. You may want to see your doctor about checking levels in your blood.
Avatar m tn you start from my just below my earlobe and move down, around the corner of my jaw, just past the main jaw muscle that flexes when teeth are gritted and it is there. Right on the edge of my jaw and the sensitivity continues down and under the jaw. It is painful to touch (not debilitating) and the strange thing is that is on both sides, perfectly symmetrical. There is no swelling and when i manipulate with my finger all i can really feel is what feels like a channel/vein...
Avatar m tn Aside from TMJ, which is a muscle-contraction type of pain and sometimes associated with jaw pain, another differential is exertion headache which follows physical exertion (running, jumping, or sexual intercourse) or passive exertion (sneezing, coughing, moving one's bowels, etc.). Majority of this conditions is related to migraine or cluster headache.
587537 tn?1220104892 I went to dentist because there was something stuck beside top moler #2 and was cutting my cheek. Was told it is jaw bone and they pulled it out. Oh did that hurt; thats when the extreem pain started and swelling of both upper and lower gums. I do clinch my teeth, jaw pops/cracks more as I get older. So I was sent to a oral surgen to get the moler pulled, took exrays and he said No way; your sinus are swelling. Went to medical Dr.
Avatar n tn The previous weeks, while I had my temp on, I had occasional low level pain in my jaw running from my ear to my chin. The dentist told me when the permanent went on, this pain would go away, but it has not and I still have intermittent jaw painn. There is no hot/cold sensivity or pain when biting and the crown feels completely normal. Is this something I should be concerned about? How long might it go on?
Avatar f tn the area where the tooth was pulled does not hurt but 2 of the injection sites hurt terribly. There is intense pain towards the back of my jaw, ear, and lower jaw bone.they gave me antibiotics but have not been running a fever. They don't seem to help. I have also been taking 800mg ibuprofen which helps for about 3 hours then the pain is back. It is not getting any better. The pain is almost unbearable. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I had very severe neck pain along with pain in jaw line, dizziness and loose motions. The neck pain lasted for almost 2 months and now its totally gone..!!!as if it was never there. But after three months i am facing red/brown elevated spots on my fore ahead and below my jaw line area. Every day i find a new spot on my face.Which makes me concerned.Persistent loose motions are still there along with dizziness. My questions are:- 1 Are my tests conclusive?
Avatar f tn IVE BEEN HAVING PAIN IN MY TEMPLE, THAN I CAN FEEL PRESURE IN MY NECK JAW AND DOWN IN MY GROAN . I WENT TO THE DOC SHE IS RUNNING SOME TESTS, BUT SHE THINKS ITS NOT MY HEART OR A STOKE, OR BLOOD CLOT. DO U KNOW THE SIGNS OF A BLEEDING BRAIN, WOULD SOMEONE DIE FAST? I FEEL THE PRESURRE IN MY MAIN ATRIES LEFT SIDE.
Avatar f tn Pressure moves in head from temples, bridge of nose, ears, teeth, jaw. Also with this is constant dry eyes. I also experience aches of my upper and lower extrems, muscle twitching in all limbs with some tingling, and a constant tremor, which I would classifiy as isometric (I tremble when I put pressure on my upper limbs) and also feel clumbsy with keys, separating papers. I do great with eye makeup, writing, percise slow movements. The quicker I move the clumbsier I get.
Avatar n tn It started about 2000 and seems to be getting worse. I have terrible ear pain, 1-10 a 9, burning, tingling, and weak and very tight muscles in my neck, running all the way down my upper back. I have been on Rx Topamax and a Flexeril a muscle relaxer for years. Do you think it could possible be a pinched nerve in my neck ?
Avatar n tn I getting another troponin test done tomorrow so I will be interested to know the levels. BTW the jaw pain subsided when I pulled the tooth and the TMJ (although still there) calmed down two week after the horrific dental visit. It is really hard to tell but either way many changes are on the way. Thanks for your response.
1590446 tn?1297148470 I am 19yrs old, female, healthy weight. I have had chronic rib pain for MANY years. As far back as a can remember i would get this "aching" feeling in my lower left rib (near the very bottom), always in the same exact spot. In the past it would come and go and wouldnt come back for a long time. However, in the last year or so, it has started aching way more frequently. (sometimes daily as opposed to maybe every few months or so in the past).
Avatar m tn I have had about a dozen episodes over the past three years where I have a linear flash of pain in my heart area and then my legs seem to cut out and lose blood flow -- mostly when running up hills. This only occurs after an hour of intense running or two hours of jogging. I have passed all stress tests (too short in duration) and none of the scans can detect a bridge easily. Doctor is against a coronary angiography due to its risks.
Avatar m tn TMJ disorders — a type of temporomandibular disorder or TMD — can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement and this can radiate to parts of your head. If it continues, then maybe a trip to your dentist might be of some help.
Avatar f tn On Monday felt a little pain and discomfort which gradually increased through Tuesday and still experience pain and discomfort on wednesday. When mouth is closed there is no pain. When moving jaw from side to side, no pain. I experience tthe pain and discomfort when opening my mouth. II also noticed my face get a little puffy on that side on Tuesday.   Do think my jaw is broken, dislocated,  or just bruised?
Avatar n tn There is NO PAIN except when I open my mouth....the jaw hurts, or the muscle in the jaw. Is this from the shots the dentist gave me before he extracted the tooth?
Avatar f tn I recently found out I have an enlarged heart (>55%) when I went to a cardiologist because of jaw pain and heart palpitations. I am a 29 year old female, my total cholesterol is 152 and HDL is 77. Blood pressure is normal. My parents both have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and my paternal grandfather died of a heart attack in his 50s. The jaw pain is only on the right side and only when I exercise, but the palpitations can be anytime.

Avatar f tn I have had a consistant sore throat, bit of ear pain, swollen glands and jaw ache, plus sharp pain in jaw when trying to eat, for over a month now. Dr gave me antibiotics but it hasn't helped. Has anyone else experienced this please?
Avatar n tn anything wrong in my throat, although I feel heat around my ears, swelling of cheeks inside mouth, and a bruising like pain in the jaw from my ear to my chin. I am not however running a fever (like you might expect from some type of infection). Also, the pain does not improve or get worse when eating, chewing, talking, etc. I had a CT scan with dye done Friday and am waiting on the results, but am just curious if anyone else has ever had these symptoms.
Avatar n tn My mouth will not open and close evenly and when I lay down my jaw locks up and I can’t open my mouth. When I’m up it always pops on the right side opening and closing my mouth while talking and chewing. I would like to know why it does this and what is causing this and if it can be treated. I am in pain everyday with this problem and it is very frustrating. It started a few years ago and it is getting worse. Please help!! Thanks!!
