Common Questions and Answers about Ideal weight per age

weight

Avatar f tn I am not understanding your height measurement, and you did not state your age. 110lbs is not an ideal weight for males unless you are under 4ft tall. A male should eat typically 2000-2500 calories per day depending on your age. If you can give me your height and age, then I can give you an accurate amount of calories per day. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar f tn Hi! There can be wide variation in weight as per height and age depending on where you live and your ethnic background. However, a weight around 125 pounds would be ideal. You can however try to maintain a weight below 130 pounds to remain in the BMI range of normal weight. So, roughly you need to lose about 40 pounds. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar f tn I suggest buying a heart rate monitor. Figure your heart rate by this formula, The Karvonen Formula is a mathematical formula that helps you determine your target heart rate zone. The formula involves using your maximum heart rate (MHR) minus your age to come up with a target heart rate range (which is a percentage of your MHR). Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts.
Avatar f tn 8 for WEIGHT LOSS 1.0 is what I use for pets almost at ideal weight or at ideal weight that have a tendancy to gain weight. Now you can see why every manufacturer over estimates pet food quantities to feed. 1. they want to sell pet food, but 2. it's dependent on the pet and their ideal weight as opposed to their current weight. Go online to find the kcal/cup or can/pouch in the foods you feed. Most dry foods have 4-500 kcal/cup.
Avatar f tn The best way to lose weight is losing the weight slowly. Doing it this way will also hopefully allow you to keep the weight off. Losing 70 lbs in one year is too much in my opinion. I was looking at what you eat at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's advisable to have some protein at every one of your main meals. I don't know if this is possible, but perhaps your doctor can refer you to a nutritionist or a dietician. Good luck with all of this.

What is your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)? Basal Metabolic Rate =Ideal Body Wt in lbs. X 13 calories per day. So for me it 150lbs x 13 = 1950 What is your Activity Caloric Level (ACL)? Avatar m tn Your ideal weight should be calculated, based on your age, height and bone structure, not just some arbitrary figure that you think would be good for you. So your first step would be to figure out where you should be, then decide how to get there. Are you getting any exercise to go along with calorie counting? I agree that if you have easy access to junk/processed foods, it's much better to be prepared and take your own food.
Avatar m tn in my case i think weight gain and age are correlated. i also used to have the "eat anything and not gain" profile, but my profile changed at about age 40 or so. but i think the "rebound" point regarding post treatment weight gain is well taken. i'm sure it takes quite some time for our systems to adjust after being stressed so much for so long with these tx drugs.
Avatar n tn However, I was gaining some weight already because I had to quit running (which I started around age 23 to combat weight gain due to a slowing metabolism) due to my TOS, so I think most of it is due to lack of physical activity because of my current physical limitations, and a diet that could, in truth, be better (it's hard to train yourself to eat healthy 24/7/365 when you used to be thin and able to eat whatever whenever). In short, you're 37.
Avatar f tn To lose or gain weight, adjust your daily caloric intake according to your ideal body weight. Step 1 Determine what your goal weight should be. Step 2 Perform moderately-intense cardio or aerobic for at least 150 to 300 minutes per week; or when you increase your fitness level, up that to vigorously exercising for 75 to 150 minutes a week. Step 3 Perform two or three strength-training sessions each week. Step 4 Practice yoga.
Avatar n tn When my husband and I were married just over two years, trying to get pregnant that whole time, we sought the help of infertility specialists. At the time I was about 165 lb at 5'3. I started to gain weight at about age 25 and at age 31 I was very overweight even with diet and exercise. My cycles were all over the place as well. My husband is Air Force and infertility is not exactly first on their list of things to help people with.

Avatar n tn I was already on Wellbutrin 150 mg twice a day and a diet, by the way,and struggling with depression over my weight. Two years later, I am at 200 mg per day of Topomax, headache free with no change in the flavor that I can apprciate. I am also wearing a size 6 working to a size 4. One caution. If you have anorexic tendencies, as I do, be very careful. I forget to eat, don't want to eat, strive for that smaller size, although everyone tells me that that is enough weight loss.
1139187 tn?1355710247 1.6 to 1.8 mcg per kg ideal body weight. It gives this range for most women: 100 to 150 mcg Most men: 125 to 200 mcg Then it states those with severe hypoT require more medication. It also states that a person can receive full replacement dose to start treatment if they're under 60 years old. According to the site's recommendation (written by thyroid specialists), my dose should be 125 - 137 mcg. I am now on 162 mcg.
Avatar f tn First, it should be noted that based on 147 lbs and 5 ft 5 inches tall, your weight and BMI fall within the normal category. Per the calculator, your ideal body weight range is 111.17 to 150.23 and current BMI was calculated at 24.46. From the history you have provided, in my humble opinion, I believe your body may be in starvation mode. This is when your caloric intake is not sufficient to maintain your weight based on the level of energy you are expending.
Avatar n tn I lost 10 pounds using the Weight Watchers program, but I still have the extra pounds 2 years later. I had heard about weight gain while using the shot, however this is the first time I've heard anyone say anything about gaining weight afterwards. I had suspected all those hormones effected me some how, but didn't think much about it. Now it really makes me wonder....
Avatar n tn My weight problem started at age 39 up until that time I never had a problem with my weight even after having five children. I was still able to keep my high school figure. I've never exercised or maintained a healthy diet. I am 41 now and I know I'm paying for my stupidity of taking my health for granted. I'm 5"10" and I weigh 215lbs. I am tired all the time but I try and block it out of my mind and continue to try and achieve all my daily task.
140437 tn?1215113342 I am walking about 1 mile per day, 5 days per week. Can anyone tell me why I am not losing weight? I am very frustrated!
Avatar n tn You are probably at your 'ideal weight' by the sounds of it. sometimes you don't need to actually lose weight off the scale to look and feel 100% better. The muscle weight has replaced your fat weight so why worry about the last few pounds? Don't put your body through hell just to see a number. I completely understand. I went through the exact same thing and after countless flush diets, changing routines i realized my body just wasn't built to go under a certain weight (and still be healthy).
119874 tn?1189759429 For weight based dosing, the typical ranges are between 13.3 and 15.5 or so mg per kg of body weight. Generally, I think you want to be over 15. Divide your weight in lbs by 2.2 to get kg. 165/2.2 = 75kg 75kg X 15.5 = 1,162.5 mg or supposing you were taking 800 mg for 165 lbs: 165/2.2 = 75kg 800kg/75kg = 10.6 (quite a bit outside of our 13.3 - 15.
Avatar m tn Instead of 20 - 30 minutes of aerobics a day -- when I feel like it -- I'm now biking 40-50 minutes in the morning and 30-40 minutes in the evening some nights. That in addition to weight work at the gym 2-3 times per week. As to diet, I've gone down the glycemic scale on the carbs, meaning less potatoes and oatmeal -- permissible on the Pritikin diet. -- and replacing it with more salads and vegetables.
Avatar n tn The doctor didn't feel like gall bladder was involved and I did have food poisoning when I went to ER that time just took the right dr to let me know. The diagnosis as of now is weight gain due to stress and age related. I am staying on top of it and will post if anything happens differently. Still have a prego looking gut but am walking so xxx(fingers crossed).
Avatar m tn If you are shorter, subtract 6 pounds per inch. The acceptable weight range will be 10 per cent either side of the final figure. Example of Healthy Weight (Men) If you are 5 feet 10 inches, allow yourself 110 pounds plus 10 x 6 pounds. This totals 170 pounds. The healthy weight range for a man of 5 feet 10 inches is therefore approximately 153-187 pounds. You are also going to be experiencing rapid growth and it is important that you are eating enough nutrients to support it.
