Hi there and thanks so much for posting this question I would suggest that at your age you are careful with changes in your metabolism. What is metabolism? Metabolism is a collection of chemical reactions that takes place in the body's cells. Metabolism converts the fuel in the food we eat into the energy needed to power everything we do, from moving to thinking to growing. If you want to lose weight The safest amount of weight you can lose is anything from .5 to 2 lbs a week.
Hi there and thanks so much for posting this question! Yes I can hear your frustration as you know it is a combination between healthy nutrition and physical exercise the most effective approach. Now lets talk first about exercise: Are you exercising too hard? You have to remember that when you exercise too hard you may be burning muscle and not fat so although you are burning calories you may replenish them after staying with high levels of fat.
It really is a marvelous self-preservation tool! Given your height, weight, sex and age (had to use 18 for the calculator to work), and based on a very active lifestyle, you should be eating 2,550 calories a day to maintain your weight. Based on the exercise you reported, you are using a tremendous amount of calories with your activity level (based on current weight of 147 pounds).

You need to calculate your daily needs, based on your current age, weight and height in order to get BMR or Basic Metabolic Rate (what you need for the involuntary body processes, such as heart rate, brain function, digestion, kidney, liver and other body functions that you can't control). Once you have that, you can go from there, typically, subtracting 500 calories/day to get the number of calories you can eat and still lose weight.
1) Ideal weight x 4.35 2) add 655 3) height (inches) x 4.32 4) age x 4.
I understand the theory and agree in most case to start out low and slow. However, that would depend on your TSH level, age, and weight (possibly height too if really tall). The more we weigh the higher the dose for our body to respond. Usually to effect the heart the cautions are with low TSH hypers and too high TSH for for hypos, for long periods of time. Unless 25 mcg is overdosed to where TSH/system/levels, really doesn't need it. Some doctors prescribe (low dose) as a placebo.
BMI=weight(kg)/ [height(m)2]. You can use this online BMI calculator to determine yours! Typically, medical intervention in obesity starts with diet therapy for four weeks, along with an appropriate exercise regime. If this fails to achieve an average weight loss of 0.5kg/week (approximately 1 pound/week) then drug therapy may be recommended. However, underlying hormonal or metabolic diseases should be ruled out prior to initiation of drug therapy.
Ok so in June 2008 I had my first depo shot. My body had just bounced back, hormonally, from having my son in May 2007. I had gained a pretty good amount of weight, especially for my height 5'3". Went from 110-130. I was supposed to get another shot in Sep. I didn't of course. The darn shot made me have horrible heart problems. I couldn't take a big enough breath. My bones were horribly sore, the boneloss deal. Supplements didn't help. Depression. Forgetfulness. Anxiety. Anger.
I want to see if they will notice anything. I'm currently at 212. My ideal weight is around a max of 179. But, my bf% is well under 20%. In act it is around 15. But the problem areas are still there. No matter what I do the problem areas remain. I'll be running the 23 day plan. I hope this will get me where I need to be.
I have been doing everything I can to prepare my body and mind for the next IVF. I've shed 30 pounds (so far, and still losing) since the height of my last pregnancy, been doing acupuncture since mid-May, exercising 4 times per week and will start chinese herbs this week. So far, I had a clomid challenge test earlier this month and I was a 12.2 and it went down to 7.4! This is the lowest number I have had in 1.5 years since I started seeing an IVF doctor. So, I was very excited.
I desperately want my daughter to have a sibling close in age, and had I known this would happen, I never would've gotten it in the first place. Any advice, words of wisdom, would be highly appreciated.
He said my uterine lining looked great, I respond very well to the stim meds especially for someone my age (38), and he said we had good looking embryos (blast). I specificaly asked him if it was worth trying again for us and he said absolutely. He strongly believes that IVF will work for my DH and I, and he reassured us that it takes most couples 2-3 times of IVF before it works. He was also optimisitc about the FET. He says the embryo that we froze actually ended up being the best one.
