Next appointment with Doc is 18th as long as I maintain the weight I feel I can stay on the topamax.
Avatar f tn Hi! There can be wide variation in weight as per height and age depending on where you live and your ethnic background. However, a weight around 125 pounds would be ideal. You can however try to maintain a weight below 130 pounds to remain in the BMI range of normal weight. So, roughly you need to lose about 40 pounds. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

One easy way I use to get a broad idea of my ideal weight is simply to look at myself in the mirror: do I look overweight? Do I have a big belly or large hips? This is obviously a subjective test, but it certainly offers a quick way to verify.

1339332 tn?1329857966 Forgot to weigh myself before breakfast; this weight was done at 1320. It's rare for me to forget to weigh as I wake up thinking about being fat and go to bed thinking about being fat. And, of course, I think about being fat before and after eating every meal. It's sad but true that I permit my value to be defined by a number on a scale. I am 32 lbs above the weight I was when I was wearing a size 8 to 12, dating, falling in love and chasing active adventures. I'm 46 lbs.

Now you can see why every manufacturer over estimates pet food quantities to feed. 1. they want to sell pet food, but 2. it's dependent on the pet and their ideal weight as opposed to their current weight. Go online to find the kcal/cup or can/pouch in the foods you feed. Most dry foods have 4-500 kcal/cup.
Avatar n tn Hi! If your weight is within the ideal limit for your age, frame andheight, then you should not attempt to lose weight. What you need to do is eliminate the common causes of increase in weight such as overeating, lack of exercise, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. Avatar f tn I also get easily knocked down by common cold so I am really pushing for gaining my ideal weight for my age and height, which would be about 20 lbs more. What Im doing now is just try to add up on the food proportion and eat as frequently as I can. I've been on this for a year now and unfortunately I've not been successful in maintaining the desired pounds yet. So I think we can do this! At least the aim and goal is clear to both of us. Let us not get discouraged easily.

To answer your question, I expect that your weight is higher than is ideal for your age and height - but I think it's very important to involve your parents and pediatrician in any plan to lose weight - you want to go about it in a healthy way that will be successful for you.
Avatar f tn I suggest buying a heart rate monitor. Figure your heart rate by this formula, The Karvonen Formula is a mathematical formula that helps you determine your target heart rate zone. The formula involves using your maximum heart rate (MHR) minus your age to come up with a target heart rate range (which is a percentage of your MHR). Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts.
