Heavy periods natural remedies

Common Questions and Answers about Heavy periods natural remedies

Avatar f tn For theuh past few days, I've been having heavy periods. Aside from surgery, is there any natural remedy that will work quickly? I know I should go see a dr but I just can't right now. Please respond asap. Thank you!!
Avatar n tn I too got very scared and was going to go the doctors, however, I believe in natural remedies, so I started drinking diluted natural yogurt, ie 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt diluted in a long glass, mix cumin powder and a pinch of salt for taste. Whisk the yogurt and water and drink it three times a day, slowly sip away during the day, and take 2 Gentle Iron tablets (its chelated iron by Solgar you can buy from any good health store - GNC). Make sure you eat something before taking the iron.
Avatar n tn However, mid morning yesterday I started bleeding more heavily and red in color. The bleeding was not heavy enough to soak through a pad --- but heavy enough to see on a pad after an hour or so. I went to the dr and they did an ultrasound and a blood test. The ultrasound showed a small sac (too small to see the baby or anything) and the dr said that if this is a miscarriage she will not know until after a second blood test and probably a second ultrasound.

Avatar f tn I recommend asking about an ultrasound before surgery and if you do need to get surgery I would make absolutely sure you see a specialist. I too usually opt for natural/herbal remedies but irregular bleeding could be a sign of something serious and you don't wnat to mess around. On the other hand it could also just be hormonal but it is better to know for sure! Ask about an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Very heavy pulling feeling on the face and the body tension in the head, very heavy head, blocked ears, slightly unclear when reading, and very tired during normal hours of the day. Can this really all be down to anxiety and if so how can I rid of this I am not one to stay at home.??
Avatar n tn has been a consistent 21 days, with severe cramping and heavy bleeding. Last January I went 6 weeks between periods, and thought I was pregnant, but was not. Since then there are anywhere from 10 days to 21 days between periods, still very painful and heavy. I have had a couple cysts in the past, but none currently. I have been tested for PCOS and bloodwork to check my thyroid, but everything has come back OK.
Avatar n tn I would love some suggestions of other natural remedies that some of you have tried with success(I know everything works diff. for each person). I am thinking of talking to my Dr about coming off the pill that I have been on for 10 years now and go to an IUD with no hormones. Has anyone else experienced any of these issues like I have. Sorry for the long post....I am excited to hear everyone's thoughts. By the way I am 30 years old.
Avatar n tn recently i stopped working out and my periods was very heavy. then it occured 2 weeks later. Should I be concerned or is it due to the recent work out stoppage?
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, I haven't found any natural remedies that worked for my painful periods. I have to be on birth control for the pain, clotting, and to prevent ovarian cysts for 18 years. I do drink PMS tea, but can't tell any difference...
Avatar f tn I would recommend going the natural route and going to a naturopathic doctor. I only go the naturopathic dr for any natural remedies and see my gyno mainly for check ups as the naturopathic dr doesn't do any internal exams. The heavier bleeding and pain may be a bad sign.If it gets worse I would go the hospital. Definately check into getting your hormones regulated after you find out why your having heavy painful bleeding. Hope this has been helpful. Best to ya!
Avatar n tn //suite101.com/article/natural-remedies-for-period-pain-a97244 Also, taking magnesium on a daily basis all the time will help with cramps. I would also recommend having a heart to heart talk with your Gyno. If they just brush you off telling you to just deal with it then find another. Once you are done having kids and if your problems persist there is a procedure called Endometrial ablation that stops the heavy bleeding.
Avatar f tn If your symptoms continue or get worse over time, and don't respond to OTC pain medication, it may be a sign of an underlying problem. I'm currently looking toward natural remedies and recently got the book "Period Repair Manual" which has a lot of helpful information.

Avatar f tn I am a 28 year old female had an ectopic pregnancy in 2008 (my tube was removed) I also have had cystic ovaries since first being diagnosed when I was 16 - I suffer with extremely heavy periods and pain when not menstruating. I have be with my partner for 10 years and can't get pregnant.
1620589 tn?1351361575 I've not heard of any natural remedies for regulating periods. Yes you can have this sort of flow and have everything be normal, but bleeding for two weeks out of the month has got to be just plain frustrating. Have you considered getting a second opinion?
Avatar n tn Wait on any herbs or natural remedies until you talk to the endo - many natural remedies could mask some of your labs or aggravate a developing problem.
Avatar n tn I love having birth control. Before I started taking it 5 years ago, I had 7 day long painful, heavy periods and several days of horrible PMS where I'd be an emotional wreck, crying at almost everything sometimes. I've been on a bunch of different ones over the years (mostly just what the teen clinic was handing out), and it's been a major improvement in my quality of life.
Avatar f tn My doc mentioned estrogen too, if my hot flashes were too much but I declined. The hot flashes actually went away for about 6 - 8 months and I thought maybe it was a change of climate and also I did some online reading and found that some women say some foods, like spicy foods might trigger hot flashes so I limited my diet. They're back now though and I'm not sure why except I am back to eating more variety in foods, even spicy foods.

Avatar n tn I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and yes it can effect your period this way, usually it keeps you from having them but can do like you are now. Trying natural remedies helps, I know it takes money but our health is priceless. Change your diet, excercise, and take lots of vitamins. You could try a progesterone cream...Look up Dr.Lee about PCOS..Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn ) Try paying a visit to your doc and talk this over with him/her. There are also naturopathic doctors that can help with natural remedies as well. Both in conjunction work well. Hopefully, others will post some suggestions or offer their stories as well. We know what you are feeling and sending you our understanding!
Avatar f tn Was just reading about Sepia in my Natural remedies book. It can help with hormone problems. Could be just what we need. Available at health food stores. 6 c twice a day. It's supposed to regulate your hormones. Hope it helps. I hope to get some tomorrow at the health food store for myself.
436713 tn?1408888330 I do know that when I got the blood test six weeks ago, I was 15 days into my cycle. Around ovulation time. (I have heavy, painful periods). When I got my most recent blood test, I had just finished my period two days ago. Could this have affected the reading? I really could use some advice. I don't know why my body isn't holding on to b vitamins (especially b12 and folic acid) as well as iron. I got a blood test for celiacs disease and also had an endoscopy. Both came up with nothing.
Avatar m tn Am also taking Rx digestive enzymes, probiotics and other natural remedies to support my stomach I'm just exhausted and sick to my stomach all the time and no one can figure out what's wrong - have just started taking bile salts and that really helps some of my stomach issues, again leads me to believe this is gallbladder/ gallstone issues I recently did an iodine patch test and it disappeared within 4 hours … possible I'm just iodine deficient? possible anemic too?
Avatar m tn There are also much gentler natural remedies that can be tried first, such as homeopathic remedies such as Calm's Forte, or the natural hormone melatonin (small doses are better than large), or gentle herbs such as valerian or passionflower. Medications are a last resort, not a first, and they come with much baggage.
Avatar f tn Any other suggestions would be appreciated and how long should i wait before seeing a doc. I'm really into natural remedies (THAT WORK) (: I am overweight, which I realize can contribute to this....and have been under alot of stress but I think stress normally stops your period, doesn't it? HELP!
Avatar f tn Here are some natural remedies that may help also..... Fiber Fiber shows a consistent beneficial effect in relieving hemorrhoid symptoms and bleeding. It can soften stool and increase its bulk, which helps to reduce straining. Bioflavonoids Bioflavonoids are a type of plant compound that are thought to work by stabilizing and strengthening blood vessel walls and by decreasing inflammation.
Avatar f tn At last check before last procedure, they were *numerous and enlarging the uterus to a 5 month pregnancy state.* Pelvic pain Very heavy bleeding, then light bleeding, on and off for nearly a year. Since I have had 8 previous abdominal surgeries and a lot of scar tissue from these, my GYN has been reluctant to recommend a hysterectomy and has tried all sorts of other Remedies.
Avatar n tn The other thing that may help would be a visit to a naturpath, there are many wonderful natural remedies that could help with the dreadful symptoms you describe - evening primrose oil was one. Don't give up - if need be change your Doctor if you feel thay are not listening. If all investigation is normal you may also need to try an antidepressant at least shortterm.
