Common Questions and Answers about Heavy periods herbal remedies

period

Avatar f tn Things WILL settle down in time. I believed the symptoms would never go away (but they did) You could maybe check out herbal remedies. Sometimes they help. Once I'd been checked over and the specialist told me my problems were basically hormonal, I went to a professional Herbalist and got some medicine which did help me quite a lot.
318181 tn?1336447096 Your not alone. I also have this although last month my af was heavier then usual but still only lasts about 2 days...then some spotting for about a day.
Avatar n tn For the past few months, I have noticed that my heart is beating excessively heavy/hard for long periods of time, sometimes days. I feel it most when I lay in bed at night, throughout my chest and left side. Sometimes it makes my side ache terribly. I can not lay on my left side due to the pain it causes around my heart and the severity of the heart beat increases. It is so strong at points it keeps me awake.
Avatar n tn I had light periods after my m/c's and after some herbal remedies to restore hormonal balance, I think I am back on track w/ regular cycles. :) I went through monts where my cycle didn't even come and I was going on 40days. I also had really light bleeding and never needed to wear a tampon or a pad. Now I am back up to 29/30 day cycles and I have AF for 6 days. The flow is not heavy, but I know that I am ovulating.
Avatar n tn I am 37 years old and have been dealing with heavy bleeding a long time with my periods, first off my gyn did a Biopsy of my endometrium strip. They lied to me and said it was clear, when I picked up the report what it said was they didn't collect enough cells to determine if anything was wrong. He went ahead and did the ablation of my endometrium stip from my uterus. I still was bleeding not as heavy, but it didn't stop like he wanted it to, so he went ahead and gave me the depo shot.
Avatar n tn I am a strong believer in herbal remedies and alternative medicine because when I went the conventional medical way, I only got disappointment and an empty wallet. Do your own research. Find a naturopath or reputable herbalist in your local area if you want to consult with someone who isn't a tradiitional prescription pill peddling doctor. Best wishes. G.G.S.
Avatar f tn I recommend asking about an ultrasound before surgery and if you do need to get surgery I would make absolutely sure you see a specialist. I too usually opt for natural/herbal remedies but irregular bleeding could be a sign of something serious and you don't wnat to mess around. On the other hand it could also just be hormonal but it is better to know for sure! Ask about an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn Wow - my first question. Wondering if anyone has experience with heavy swollen and painful breasts, AFTER your period? My period ended a few days ago yet the pms-type breast symptoms have not gone away (they usually disappear when my period starts). I do not feel any lumps or growths, wondering what this could possibly be? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks!
Avatar n tn has been a consistent 21 days, with severe cramping and heavy bleeding. Last January I went 6 weeks between periods, and thought I was pregnant, but was not. Since then there are anywhere from 10 days to 21 days between periods, still very painful and heavy. I have had a couple cysts in the past, but none currently. I have been tested for PCOS and bloodwork to check my thyroid, but everything has come back OK.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, I haven't found any natural remedies that worked for my painful periods. I have to be on birth control for the pain, clotting, and to prevent ovarian cysts for 18 years. I do drink PMS tea, but can't tell any difference...
Avatar n tn Growing up, I never had allergies but about 6-7 years back my periods became very irregular, along came fatigue, anxiety, weight gain, forgetfulness, yeastinfections, heavy periods (whenever it came) and ofcourse unexplained allergies. I've never enjoyed the idea of being on all sorts of medicines. So i'm constantly researching all types of herbal remedies. I'm only 26yrs old, married for 6 months and praying to be a mother someday.
Avatar n tn In fact, there have been many reports of people suffering serious health problems or even dying as a result of their use of herbal remedies. Since everything that enters the mouth is metabolized through the liver, the liver is a prime target for the toxic effects of some herbs. People with normal functioning livers and no history of prior liver disease have suffered adverse consequences to the liver as a result of taking certain herbs.

Avatar n tn I have tried everything including acupuncture, brain music, herbal remedies and most of the drugs on the market. About a year ago, I went to a psycharist for generalized anxiety disorder and was started on Lexapro ( 10mg) Unfortunately, one of the major side effects is insomnia, which just componded my sleeping issure. The Lexapro help greatly in the diminishing the GAD but I just could not exist with 45 minutes of sleep a night. I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years.
647397 tn?1307060215 My doc is suggesting a hysterectomy but I am only 40 and I don't want to get that done. I have been researching herbal remedies, I found one called Fibroid Clear, I am going to try that, go to Biotanical Health and read up on the herbs and how each one helps. It is worth the try. Meds the Doctors prescribe can hurt you later in different ways.
1861628 tn?1319947144 I have always suffered with terrible periods, dysmenorrheal they called it; extremely heavy and long periods. I was on several types of birth control all of which caused one problem or another. I was constantly in for D&Cs and laparoscopies, to which a cyst was always found to be the cause of the debilitating pain I frequently suffered.
Avatar f tn they do mess with your brain chemistry but usually only after longer periods of time you have to understand how the drug works it floods your brain with endorphin or happy hormone take that away and you might go into a depression if your sensitive to the med you could also be borderline depresses and need to be on an antidepressant it may even this out for you there are other drugs that are non narcotic for migrains you may want to try one of those let us know how this works out I would talk to
Avatar n tn I have been having problems for over a year now and still can't figure out what is wrong. I started having really long and heavy periods with alot of clotting back the Spring of 2008. I made several trips to the doctor and was placed on Prometrium for 10 days to stop the bleeding. Afterwards, they say you are supposed to get another period but I didnt till a month later. A month or so would go by where my period was normal, lasting about 5 days.
Avatar m tn Now, herbal combination remedies can be very effective -- a sleep remedy, for example, that combines valerian, hops and passionflower for example, which you can get from Gaia or Herb Pharm, addresses different aspects of sleep -- making one drowsy, less systemically anxious, and reduces the chances of waking up drowsy. The strongest herbal sleep remedy is, aside from illegal plants, California poppy, which again can make someone wake up drowsy.
Avatar n tn --- UPDATE--- To All that is experiencing absent periods, irregular periods, heavy periods, Non Stop Periods, etc. My daughter has had her period for over 6 months now, straight. She has gone to her regular OBGYN and he has did a pap, and an internal and exteranal ultrasound. Her test came back negative. He said this appears to be a "HORMONAL' matter and recommended her going to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist Specialist.
Avatar n tn Read about a massage to the stomach on post and wondered about accupressure and or any herbal remedies you have tried ? I am trying DGL again since the H2 blockers made my heart race and who needs an extra body part not working. Can't figure why something can't help.

Avatar f tn So I opted for anti-anxiety meds for some time that did nothing either. I've also used herbal remedies to no avail. This vertigo has been constant since its onset, and though I can tolerate it better, I honestly don't think it's gotten better simply that I've gotten used to it. I have poor balance (I frequently fall over trying to get dressed in the morning). It is 24/7 and doesn't change with movement.
203342 tn?1328740807 Otherwise I've been taking Motrin, Advil or sinus pain medication when needed. I've tried natural remedies like herbal tea and extra vitamin C and just going to bed. I guess this must be a bad season or something. We have had a lot of wind which I've heard can aggravate the sinuses. I'm not sure what else I can do except take something and ride it out.
