Avatar n tn This is not a normal period, it sounds like you really need to see an OB Gyn to find out what has gone wrong. regular periods with heavy bleeding & cramps are typically for longevity of 10 days. Any beyond that isn't a normal menstual cycle. And definately nothing for as long as you've been sounds like you may have had a tubular pregancy & it ruptured. Seek your doctor pronto.
Avatar m tn My junior year of high school, I went to the doctor and got a low-dose birth control pill. A week into it, my periods became super heavy and I had unbearable cramps, which I had never had before. My period lasted a straight two weeks, stopped for a week, and then came again. My mom told me to stop taking the pill, so I did. My doctor said that it would take a month to get out of my system. A month later, my periods were still very frequent and just as painful.
Avatar m tn Hello - my question is really does anyone know of or understand the link between having UC and suffering from heavy and painful periods? I have read about UC producing excess prostaglandin which in turn creates more contractions and sore periods. Is this true? Can someone please help me understand?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was only 14 years old, due to very heavy periods, although they were normal in length & came on time. I'm 24 now, and for about the past two years I've had nothing but problems. I will go for 7 months with out a period, then I will bleed HEAVY for about 3 months. I've been to the doctor more times than I can remember, but nothing they do seems to help any in the long run. I am very frustrated.
Avatar m tn Okay so my period last month was heavy because I'd eat a lot of not healthy foods and the month after that I got my period and before I got my period I was on a diet and was eating very healthy so my question is that is it normal if my period this time is light and with no cramps ???? Hellppp also is my period gonna last me more them a week since I'm eating healthy?

Avatar m tn i appear to come on my periods around the right time of each month i`ll bleed for a day then stop for up to two days then really heavy with bad cramps and then stop on the same day that its started again.
Avatar f tn The bleeding is different, its light pink and not heavy like my usual periods.
Avatar m tn Also keep a note of any changes like tender breasts, fluid retention as well as exactly how your periods are - light, brown, pink show, heavy, clotty and so on. All these will help give a picture to your doctor should you need to see him if your periods do not start to be "normal" again. The other thing is, are you sure that the blood is coming from your vagina?

Avatar f tn I have my first appointment in two days, but I'm slightly freaking out right now. Are cramps normal? I've had no spotting and I seem to have every other pregnancy symptom. Just is this normal or should I call my doctor now? It wasn't just on one side until last night. The other side hurts sometimes. Drinking and eating seem to help. Is it just my body changing? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I am a 30 year old woman, who had her tubes tied after a successfull 2nd pregnancy. Ever since I had my tubes tied my menstral cycles have been very heavy, I have had bad cramps and severe back pain all during the 6 days off menstrating. I was told the only way to fix the problem is to have my tubes untied. Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover this and I can't afford the 5 to 10,000 it will cost to do it. Isn't there anything else I can do that will elevate my pain and suffering.
Avatar n tn For years I've had very heavy periods with LOTS of cramps and period-related backaches, and I breakout a lot for my age (39). I'd been off the pill for some time, but went back on about 1 1/2 years ago for these symptoms. My periods got lighter and shorter, cramps lessened, my skin got better. However, after trying a minimum of 4 different pills plus the patch, the various side effects were worse than the alternatives.
Avatar f tn It has been very heavy and she is also passing clots. What could this be? She has always had heavy periods but they have never lasted this long - with no let up yet.
Avatar n tn Thyroid certainly can cause period problems. Hypothyroidism - untreated can cause heavy flowing and irregular periods. Just wanted to let you know - I am certain I ahve read it on the thyroid cancer boards I am on and I know that my endo gave hypo as cause for that as well.
Avatar n tn I have been having heavy periods for about 10 years now. They are getting worse each month. They last about 6 days, Heavy bleeding usually just 2 days. I can actually feel myself passing blood clots. When I am not mensturating occasionally I will get a sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomin on one side or the other the with in the hour I will spot. Sometimes I will have a heavy mucus discharge for several days.
Avatar f tn My periods starts with severe pain and cramps and I pass heavy clots on my second day of periods, by the end of third day bleeding stops. I have regular periods. But this passing clots has started recently may be 6-7 months. I have questions whether its something about which I should be worried as I will be trying to get pregnant from this month. Should I get it checked before trying to conceive?

Avatar n tn I have been having extremely heavy periods that last at least two weeks and go away for three weeks and then come back. Well now I am losing hair like crazy. Now I know that people shed hair but this is to the point my husband is noticing my hair is thinner. I also have been having horrible stomach cramps usually in the middle of the night. If anyone has any comments or ideas that would help I would appreciate it! Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am 35 and have had three kids. I have had painful, heavy periods since starting at age 12. After having a breech baby, I ended up with a stage one bladder prolapse. Because of my heavy periods and the prolapse, my doc suggested surgery for the prolapse and a possible hysterectomy when I am closer to the age of 40. He felt I was still to young for a hysterectomy.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know what could be going on. My periods are never right. and are always heavy. Never big blood clots. No cramps.
