Avatar f tn Hi, If your diet is not somewhat healthy with your 5 a day and proper eating then all your exercise is just working off what junk your eating, i can totally empathise with you with regards to baby weight, when going through my pregnancy i craved all the wrong things, Indian, spicy foods ect, gained 3 stone and felt heavy at the end of it!

With is usually an indian meal: of rice, with chick peas, or chick peas with the soft taco shell (2), or mixed vegetable and the soft taco shell (2).

Avatar m tn For myself, I have found that if I stick to a healthy and well balanced diet and cut out all types of sugar, my skin flares up. Do you eat fruit and vegetables? These contain the vitamins that help to keep our skin healthy. The other vitamins that are not in fruit and veg are Vitamin D and other fat soluble vitamins. Vitamin D is sometimes referred to the sunshine vitamin, so you may find being outside every day may help.

Then, start out by making getting some good healthy snacks and food that is portable so you can take it with you and have it ready when you're called to the hospital. Do your best to try and get some restful sleep .. lack of sleep makes it more difficult to concentrate and handle the stress of a family illness. Many people eat raw broccoli and kale and think, wow, I'm really eating healthy food. Not true; both can only be digested cooked or juiced because of the complex fibers in such foods. Spinach is okay raw, but cooked the oxalic acid content goes way up and leaches out calcium.

Avatar f tn I eat a lot of things that are naturally gluten free (especially starting out) fresh fruits and veges, of course fresh meats, rice, potatoes, yogurts, apple sauce, rice cakes, nuts, corn dip chips with salsa, corn tortilas, salads etc...then slowly add items because it is so overwhelming. As far as bread....since I've been diagnosed for about a year now I have just went without but I did get a bread machine for X-mas that even has a gluten free setting but haven't tackled that yet.
Avatar n tn Hi, and thank you for your response. I do not smoke, nor drink. I eat very healthy, no junk, and dont eat out. I eat lots of salads, make and drink Kefir, and juice vegetables. The diuretics shut my kidneys down for some reason, I stopped all 3 they had me on, 2 years ago, I weined off so I could see how it affected my body, 6 weeks for each one. They were causing me to have pancreatitis as well. They had me on lasix, spironolactone, and metolazone.
4726133 tn?1361993373 Just search for recipes on the internet ... broccoli raisin, quinoa tabouleh, etc. Often I make salads using what I have ... a combination of some of these ingredients..... leaf lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, kale, spinach, pickled beets, garbonzo beans or other salad beans, fresh shelled peas (uncooked) or organic frozen peas (unheated), sunflower seeds, etc. Make a homemade dressing with olive oil and balsamic vinegar or some lemon juice and olive oil and garlic.

Avatar n tn I admire your conviction to the healthy lifestyle. My wife has been saying she wants to start eating healthier, and has bought a couple of cookbooks along those lines. A few years ago, we went to olive oil only. We still like our chinese food, and occasional deserts, but it is hard to go all out. Our interest in Reiki is part of the quest for self-improvement. We used to have quite a large garden when my back was up to it.

Avatar m tn The foods I eat to stay regular are salads, 100 percent whole wheat bread, Cheerios, a couple prunes, and I drink tons of water, plus I have a cup of coffee which stimulates digestion. But if you are badly constipated, you'll have to find a way to break down what's in there now. If you'll eat "Activia" yogurt or drink "Acidophilus" or "Nutrish" milk from the grocery store, it will begin to break down the waste from the stomach end.
Avatar n tn ( It is treatable with antibiotics. You may have it forever and be able to stay pretty healthy. But have bouts here and there. Anyone with Fiber that is tired of feeling like **** and wants to stop watching Judge Judy all day.....you have your answer so do what you will.

I had more nauseas since Friday, sometimes I cannot even look at any kind of food, it made me feel I want to puke. I couldn't sleep well at night as I constantly need to go to the bathroom( 5 to 6 times a night). I am also having pain at the bottom like what Maria has. I feel my lower back sore when I bend over. Tiredness is there too, but not as bad as last week.

Avatar n tn When I make cookies/ biscotti, I usually cut out 1/3 to 1/2 of the sugar and it tastes much better (same for the butter). Although we eat very healthy, it does not mean that I will cut out goodies. I will overindulge there. Life would not be worth living without those. To be honest, I don't cut out all that butter and sugar for health reasons but because I don't like overly sweet and greasy food.

I've always been skinny, being a male at around 135 lbs and 5' 10", too. Now I don't even have health-insurance, so I cannot even consult with a gastro. Lately I think my depression has worsened and I fear I may have suffered some sort of nervous breakdown.
