1457315 tn?1288459746 Wry neck? That what Dr. said. Medrol dose pack twice. vicodin flexeril. C collar . massages and traction. Chiropractor. Cured! Now........It is starting up again? I don't want to go through all of that again. What is making my neck go WRY? A physical therapist at work said sleeping under a ceiling fan. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn My husband keeps getting recurrent pain in his neck. He has had to go to the ER a few times and x-rays were normal. He went to the dr. yesterday and she gave him Flexeril and Ultram but they don't seem to help the pain. Tonight I put hot, wet washrags (making them hotter slowly) and after waiting about 15 minutes, rubbed ben-gay on his neck and shoulder muscles. He says 'if I could just crack my neck, I think it would feel allot better'.
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar n tn I have tried several muscle relaxers over the years for my shoulder pain and flexeril is the only one that works for me. It helps with the pain and also helps me to sleep. I am really sensitive to medication so I usually only take half of a 10 mg tablet at bedtime. Sometimes when I am in a a lot of pain during the day I'll take a quarter. It helps without making me too tired. Hope this helps some.
Avatar n tn ve seen the DO 4 times, seen a dentist for possible TMJ, seen an ENT (nothing wrong in my throat after looking inside), seen a neurologist (nothing neurological, he sid ) about my neck pain for 9-10 weeks. the pain subsides a bit when i am standing up and i feel the front of my neck tightening when i am sitting down. i have asked over and over but got no answer if there is some muscle pulling somewhere that's straining my neck when i sit down?
Avatar f tn Trigger point injections by a physiatrist may be a great benefit to you as trigger points are the main cause of myofascial pain syndrome (aka severe muscular pain). I also have myofascial pain syndrome. I find that along with a muscle relaxer and antidepressant, Theracane therapy helps tremendously. A Theracane is used to apply deep pressure on the trigger points. Repeated frequent use reduces the pain signals released by the trigger points.
Avatar m tn I get rapid heart beats and scared of dying when my neck symptoms get worse. THe weakness in my neck also goes to my upper jaw and have the feeling that i cant move my mouth but can. I have no problems swallowing either. When i take my xanax i start calming down but my neck and mouth still bother me. Since the xanax calms me down i figure i do have panic attacks. I know what is causing them. It is me worring about my neck. I have gone to Dr. several times and they just tell me its stress.
Avatar f tn Back in the day before my pain worsened due to DDD progression, all I took for pain was Flexeril. My neurosurgeon at the time advised me to take the 3 10 mg doses all at once at night before bed if the muscle spasms and tightness weren't going away with the regular daily doses. He said do it on a Friday or a Saturday because it will be VERY HARD for me to get out of bed the next morning. And indeed it was!!
Avatar n tn I'm worried! My fiancee' has been prescribed Tramadol, which worked very well for him but he has gone through 40 pills in 10 days and the way his dr. wrote his script it says "use 1-2 tablets every 8 hours as needed" so he cannot get a refill for another 2 weeks. He saw a local dr. who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen.
Avatar n tn It started about 2000 and seems to be getting worse. I have terrible ear pain, 1-10 a 9, burning, tingling, and weak and very tight muscles in my neck, running all the way down my upper back. I have been on Rx Topamax and a Flexeril a muscle relaxer for years. Do you think it could possible be a pinched nerve in my neck ?
Avatar f tn Tension headaches usually present with dull-type of headache. While pain at the back of head or neck that intensifies on movement may be caused by inflammation of the blood vessels of the head or bony changes in the structures of the neck. Anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants may help provide relief. If your present medications do not help, inform your doctor for proper management.Change of dosage or medicine may be indicated. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Ever since I have been diagnosed with Myofascial pain, migraines w/aura, reversal of cervical curve and a broad based atypical herniation of C5-C6 discs. I am on Perocet and Flexeril for chronic pain and Protriptylene for migraine preventative. I have tried physical therapy, Accupuncture, TENS unit without much relief. Has anyone had a similar injury? I am 43 and had no previous back, neck pain or migraines!!! I have been told I have stenosis too.
Avatar n tn i am new with neurontin. i have not got my script feeled. i had neck surgry Jan 2012. i am still in a lot of pain at times due to my work. will neurontin. have any effects on the muscle relaxer i take now, which is tizadine?
623065 tn?1275503695 Generally with spinal injuries, or neurosurgery, if a patient is looking at back surgery Flexeril (muscle relaxers) and Vicodin (pain killers) are the main medications used to help with the pain. If he has chopped the pills up, then he's most likely NOT abusing them. The reason I say this is because he would be taking several pills WHOLE. He probably took one and realized he was really sensitive to them, so cut them up so he could take a smaller dose so he would not be so tired.
Avatar f tn I am 39 years old and I've been experencing a shocking sensation that's starts in my neck and goes through my entire body.(like a flash)it happens a lot when I walk but it also does it when I'm in bed sometimes. I have lower back pain to but I don't think it's related to the neck thing.i am a patient at the VA hospital and they can't find anything wrong.does anyone know what might be causing these shocking sensations.
Avatar f tn Tylenol does NOTHING for me I have migraines and server chronic neck pain constantly. It would be best to only take when the situation is server. I take mine at night before bed... But always ask your doctor what's best for u.
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar f tn t been easy. Maybe the Flexeril has something to do with why I still feel crappy on such a low dose of pain meds.
Avatar m tn I am new to this site, saw your post, and feel compelled to tell you about my experience with Flexeril. Several years ago I was having serious neck spasms, so my doctor prescribed Flexeril. I don't remember the milligram, it was standard, and I was to take 3 a day. The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash.
Avatar f tn I suffer pain in my neck, shoulders and lower back. Recently my condition has become worse affecting my arms and the pain is severe. I am also a diabetic and suffer with neuropathy. I see a pain management doctor and have spinal injections every 12 weeks. I was prescribed Vicoden 10/325 for pain as well as flexeril and gabapentin. Neither the flexeril or the gabapentin seem to help with muscle tightness, spasms, or nerve pain.
Avatar f tn There is absolutely no doubt this feeling of malaise and the HA and etc is from the Flexeril withdrawal, I have chalked up the pain returning to not having the Flexeril in my system. I do not know what to do now.
Avatar f tn OK I may just take a half of one its just unbearable and I would like to get some sleep tonight
Avatar n tn Last night I tried sleeping in a position beneficial to my spine, by propping up my legs on pillows and laying on a rolled up pillow under my neck. I fell asleep like that and woke up like that and this morning the pain was agony...ten times worse. It really feels like someone twisted my neck violently. Doing anything hurts, even just keeping my head straight or nodding the slightest bit. Even taking a deep breath sends a sharp stab down my neck and back. Where the heck did this come from??
Avatar f tn I have constant and severe posterior neck pain. Also pain in both shoulders, some down both arms. I also have neck swelling on both sides of my neck at the bottom where shoulder meets the neck above the clavicles. I have been to many doctors and none can find anything wrong with me other than mild DDD at C6-7. I cannot continue to live in such pain, all meds I have tried do nothing. Any advise would be appreciated. I would especially like to know what could cause the swelling?
Avatar m tn About 2 weeks before Christmas I developed what felt like a developed severe pain (sort of like a stiff neck but much worse) on the right side going up to where the neck/skull meet & a really bad headache in the right frontal sinus area. Advil, Ultram & Flexeril didn't help at all. Percocet 10 barely even helped. My doctor said that I had a large muscle knot/spasm on the LEFT side (top of shoulder close to my neck) that actually was causing visible shortening there.
1549643 tn?1495759353 I take flexeril and ultram, which works amazing on my thoracic area. Even the neck pain, went from 2 episodes a week to about 1 a month now. Sometimes I take naproxen as well. I have been taking Ambien when I am at the point of crying my eyes out and unable to deal with it. This has been going on for years. A normal for me is taking two. Wake up still in pain, two more. Last time this happened to me, that would not work.
Avatar f tn I have the pain in the neck and upper shoulders all the time. I have an office job and do a lot with the mouse and keyboard. I am currently taking ultram 4 times a day Flexeril 3 times a day, toprol 3 times a day, benicar, 1 a day, Neurotin 300 mg. 3 x a day. It is not helping. I have pain in my legs and lower back also. I am having a terrible time trying to stay awake each day. Between 10 and 2 I feel like my head is continually dropping. Has anyone found anything for this fatigue?
