s of prednisone three times a day to try to get my flare under control and I take neurontin for pain, although I have to admit it does not help much with the bone pain but helps with the muscle pain. I also take Flexeril three times a day with a xanax to calm the muscles, I have severe spasticity in my hip and I usually get a nice shot of lidocaine in my back everytime I go to the Dr office. It is worth the money for the few hours of relief.
On the other hand arthritis or inflammation of joint that moves from joint to joint (migratory) can be due to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, rheumatic fever, SLE, HIV, Lyme’s disease, sarcoidosis, Whipple’s disease, Henoch-Schnlein Purpura, bacterial endocarditis and gonoccoccal arthritis. Hashimotos thyroidits is another possibility.
Hence you will need to discuss this with your doctor to see whether it is really fibromyalgia or something else.

I had an ER doctor and my OB GYN prescribe this for me while I was pregnant with twins for back pain & abdomen/uterian pain to help get relief and rest from my body having to quickly stretch for 2 babies instead of slowly like normal with one. But always check with your doctor to see if they personally recommend this prescription or something else as all doctors are different.
I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
OK I may just take a half of one its just unbearable and I would like to get some sleep tonight
It helped at first but then I still kept hurting myself because I was so doped up on it and sleep walked and bent (ouch). I have pain near the SI joint but I have pain or very tight muscle going down the back of my leg too. It isn't on the side then the back and doesn;t feel like a nerve pain. They think it is myofascial pain. How do you being to bend again, do you try wall squats or once the pain goes away you can do it? I am afraid to try again.
The pain was so bad I called and went back to my orthopedic for help with the pain. Given pain killers. Went back to the pain doctor and he thought he overfilled the joint. The orthopedic referred me to a sciatic specialist in Chicago for sciatic surgery. The sciatic specialist was not sure it was my sciatic so he sent me to a different pain specialist. This one repeated the sciatic injection and I was in terrible pain again.
Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
I am a 32 year old female, I have been going crazy for the past 3 years trying to find out what is wrong with me. I have joint pain, muscles pain, occasional muscle cramps (mostly legs), occasional muscle twitching like when I am driving my leg just jumps. I am tired all the time, though I do have good days where I feel energetic and have only pain associated with an injury.
But the joint stiffness and crepidess is still there and i get break through pain even though i still take 600-1000 mgs of ibuprofen a day. I was given percocets and vicodin to take for the break thru pain, but they are poison, addicting and i was developing a very high tolerance to the drugs, which scared me straight into not taking them anymore. My question is this, i have never been really diagnosed with anything other than, "we really don't know".
Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................
Thank you so much for your story. Do you mind explaining your joint pain? Did it hurt all over all the time? Did your hands and feet every cramp up? Do you know what the rheumy was looking for in your hands? Ive had differant stages of symptoms since April of 2005. At first only one joint hurt at a time and it swelled up. But after a few months it started being more of a widespread thing. The pain is very deep also. Like in the bone.
All have quickly said it is alcohol related, but no one has an explanation of the joint and muscle pain. Now I have been sent to a pain specialist. I say I am willing to accept it if it is all alcohol related, but maybe I am not because I also think something is missing. I have read a lot about a lot on line because I don't do much else due to the discomfort. Fibromyalgia would seem to be a likely possibility but no m.d has mentioned it, yet have prescribed Lyrica.
If the arm pain was actually related to some underlying heart issue, do you think taking Flexeril would make a difference in the arm pain? Meaning would the pill help the arm, even though it's refferred pain from the heart. I am getting relief from the Flexeril, which is making me think the muscles are relaxing in my back so the arm pains go away for awhile due to less tension.
Am i allergic to flexeril, benadryl, and most PM drugs? I have scoliosis, a bulged disc, and very mild arthritis in my back, but the pain can get to be unbearable. my muscles are so tight and knotted that it can leave me in tears (20 year old male). i have been taking flexeril for a year, and i have only used two bottles (60 10mg tablets) however, when i took one two nights ago, i began to shake and get very cold.
I am new to this site, saw your post, and feel compelled to tell you about my experience with Flexeril. Several years ago I was having serious neck spasms, so my doctor prescribed Flexeril. I don't remember the milligram, it was standard, and I was to take 3 a day. The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash.
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!

I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
