Flexeril for neck pain

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril for neck pain

flexeril

Avatar n tn I have tried several muscle relaxers over the years for my shoulder pain and flexeril is the only one that works for me. It helps with the pain and also helps me to sleep. I am really sensitive to medication so I usually only take half of a 10 mg tablet at bedtime. Sometimes when I am in a a lot of pain during the day I'll take a quarter. It helps without making me too tired. Hope this helps some.
Avatar n tn He knows nothing about Doctor Shopping, it was my idea for him to see a doctor somewhere to get help for his severe pain - he has degenerative arthritis in his neck with compressed and bulging disks so I thought I was helping by taking him to my local doctor (I didn't realize he wouldn't mention the Tramadol and I think his anger, etc.
1457315 tn?1288459746 Wry neck? That what Dr. said. Medrol dose pack twice. vicodin flexeril. C collar . massages and traction. Chiropractor. Cured! Now........It is starting up again? I don't want to go through all of that again. What is making my neck go WRY? A physical therapist at work said sleeping under a ceiling fan. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn My husband keeps getting recurrent pain in his neck. He has had to go to the ER a few times and x-rays were normal. He went to the dr. yesterday and she gave him Flexeril and Ultram but they don't seem to help the pain. Tonight I put hot, wet washrags (making them hotter slowly) and after waiting about 15 minutes, rubbed ben-gay on his neck and shoulder muscles. He says 'if I could just crack my neck, I think it would feel allot better'.
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar f tn I see a pain management doctor and have spinal injections every 12 weeks. I was prescribed Vicoden 10/325 for pain as well as flexeril and gabapentin. Neither the flexeril or the gabapentin seem to help with muscle tightness, spasms, or nerve pain. I am seeing my doctor again in two days and I wondered if any one could tell me of medications that have worked for you. I have a high tollerence to medication, most do not make me sleepy at all.
Avatar f tn Are you sure the flexeril dose is 100mg?That is high..flexeril comes in 10mg tabs and 100 mg is 10 tabs a day?Is this right?
Avatar n tn ve seen the DO 4 times, seen a dentist for possible TMJ, seen an ENT (nothing wrong in my throat after looking inside), seen a neurologist (nothing neurological, he sid ) about my neck pain for 9-10 weeks. the pain subsides a bit when i am standing up and i feel the front of my neck tightening when i am sitting down. i have asked over and over but got no answer if there is some muscle pulling somewhere that's straining my neck when i sit down?
Avatar f tn Soma is a muscle relaxer that is addictive for many people but something like Flexeril may work well for you. Also, Cymbalta has just been FDA approved to treat muscular-skeletal pain. It is a non-narcotic medicine in the family of anti-depressants. Trigger point injections by a physiatrist may be a great benefit to you as trigger points are the main cause of myofascial pain syndrome (aka severe muscular pain). I also have myofascial pain syndrome.
Avatar m tn It starts the second i get out of bed in the mornings and gets worse as the days go buy. I been taking flexeril for about two days now. Ive been having them for about 3 months when this started and never took them. My symptoms went away for a week or two after lasting for a week or two. Then it came back so i decided to start taking it. Im not denying that i have panic attacks cause i also have xanax and i take them .5 mg once a day.
Avatar f tn Back in the day before my pain worsened due to DDD progression, all I took for pain was Flexeril. My neurosurgeon at the time advised me to take the 3 10 mg doses all at once at night before bed if the muscle spasms and tightness weren't going away with the regular daily doses. He said do it on a Friday or a Saturday because it will be VERY HARD for me to get out of bed the next morning. And indeed it was!!
Avatar n tn I have been on Rx Topamax and a Flexeril a muscle relaxer for years. Do you think it could possible be a pinched nerve in my neck ?
Avatar f tn I went to pain specialist. He thought maybe cervical redculitis. Going for MRI neck and brain, eeg and dopler on neck. Does this sound normal? Also how intense is an eeg? Info on internet makes it seem quire scary. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Ever since I have been diagnosed with Myofascial pain, migraines w/aura, reversal of cervical curve and a broad based atypical herniation of C5-C6 discs. I am on Perocet and Flexeril for chronic pain and Protriptylene for migraine preventative. I have tried physical therapy, Accupuncture, TENS unit without much relief. Has anyone had a similar injury? I am 43 and had no previous back, neck pain or migraines!!! I have been told I have stenosis too.
Avatar m tn Flexeril is a muscle relaxant thats often prescribed for muscle stiffness and pain. I have never heard of it for restless legs.
Avatar n tn ve been on neurontin for many years and I also take a muscle relaxer at times but its not tizadine its flexeril....
623065 tn?1275503695 Generally with spinal injuries, or neurosurgery, if a patient is looking at back surgery Flexeril (muscle relaxers) and Vicodin (pain killers) are the main medications used to help with the pain. If he has chopped the pills up, then he's most likely NOT abusing them. The reason I say this is because he would be taking several pills WHOLE. He probably took one and realized he was really sensitive to them, so cut them up so he could take a smaller dose so he would not be so tired.
Avatar f tn I am 39 years old and I've been experencing a shocking sensation that's starts in my neck and goes through my entire body.(like a flash)it happens a lot when I walk but it also does it when I'm in bed sometimes. I have lower back pain to but I don't think it's related to the neck thing.i am a patient at the VA hospital and they can't find anything wrong.does anyone know what might be causing these shocking sensations.
Avatar f tn I had an ER doctor and my OB GYN prescribe this for me while I was pregnant with twins for back pain & abdomen/uterian pain to help get relief and rest from my body having to quickly stretch for 2 babies instead of slowly like normal with one. But always check with your doctor to see if they personally recommend this prescription or something else as all doctors are different.
Avatar f tn I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
Avatar f tn Ever since I took medication for an uti, I've been having very bad pain in my left arm, chest, back, and stomach. Sometimes my left shoulder will go numb my feet sometimes has tingling sensation. And my heart will start beating really fast and I feel like I couldn't breathe I've been to urgent care and the emergency room took blood test and urine test all normal.
Avatar m tn I am new to this site, saw your post, and feel compelled to tell you about my experience with Flexeril. Several years ago I was having serious neck spasms, so my doctor prescribed Flexeril. I don't remember the milligram, it was standard, and I was to take 3 a day. The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash.
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar f tn My Rheumatologist and my Pharmacist both said withdrawal from Percocet for sure and maybe the Flexeril. I will see my Pain Dr. on Monday for the 1st time since I was taken of Percocet last month. I'm so pissed/frustrated etc. I guess that is why Dr's are practicing medicine because they are not experts. All the advise I can give is if you are trying to come off any drug take your time unless you enjoy discomfort.

Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
Avatar n tn I am a 19 year old female, perfectly healthy aside from pretty bad anxiety/panic disorder and I tend to suffer bad hypochondriasis. Yesterday I woke up perfectly fine, got to school and was waiting for one of my classes to start when my neck started to feel a little sore...wasn't too bad, but as time went on, the pain quickly got worse and worse to the point where I couldn't turn my head very far in either direction without some serious pain.
Avatar m tn About 2 weeks before Christmas I developed what felt like a developed severe pain (sort of like a stiff neck but much worse) on the right side going up to where the neck/skull meet & a really bad headache in the right frontal sinus area. Advil, Ultram & Flexeril didn't help at all. Percocet 10 barely even helped. My doctor said that I had a large muscle knot/spasm on the LEFT side (top of shoulder close to my neck) that actually was causing visible shortening there.
1549643 tn?1495759353 I take flexeril and ultram, which works amazing on my thoracic area. Even the neck pain, went from 2 episodes a week to about 1 a month now. Sometimes I take naproxen as well. I have been taking Ambien when I am at the point of crying my eyes out and unable to deal with it. This has been going on for years. A normal for me is taking two. Wake up still in pain, two more. Last time this happened to me, that would not work.
