9140881 tn?1403241119 back to flexeril has anyone else taken this for sciatica while pregnant? The pain unbearable and pain makes my sugar go up since I am a type 2 diabetic. Im worried it will cause problems. I have had 3 miscarriages this is my first normal pregnancy so im scared it will cause one.
Dog I take Cymbalta and Flexeril for that. After a slip on the ice this past winter I have developed sciatic nerve pain from my buttocks down to my ankle. It sometimes feel like a sharp stabbing pain that is not pleasant and is beginning to affect my job, which is physically demanding. Any suggestions on what medications can help decrease this pain. (I do the recommended stretches twice daily and that helps for short spans of time) Thank you!
Avatar f tn Went back to the pain doctor and he thought he overfilled the joint. The orthopedic referred me to a sciatic specialist in Chicago for sciatic surgery. The sciatic specialist was not sure it was my sciatic so he sent me to a different pain specialist. This one repeated the sciatic injection and I was in terrible pain again. It was decided it was not my sciatic so we tried injections in my facet joints and no relief.
Avatar f tn I have, and i have heard of alot of women taking it in the third trimester for sciatic pain. Im scared to take anything during pregnancy, but i will take flexeril on nights that my husnand is working. Sometimes i cant get up to use the bathroom at night, because i cant walk. So i will take it once every couple of weeks when he has a night shift and i really need it. I am not totally positive on this, but i beleive its a category B pregnancy drug. Dont quote me on that though!
Avatar f tn Hi ladies I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant...and all I CAn say is "ouch"" and a few other selective words..I've Ben having horrible hip and lower back pains its so unbearable it brings tears to my eyes..if I sit to long it worsens if I stand to long same damn thing I can't maneuver like I want and its aggrivating...I don't go back to Dr.
Avatar f tn I am 34 years old. Have had a very few bouts (lasting no more than a day) of sciatic pain prior to the accident, which started when I was pregnant with my daughter 13 years ago. I see the chiropractor, and it goes away. I've NEVER had pain like this before. Burning, stabbing pain in my right low back, that sends stabbing, aching pain into my posterior thigh, and aching down into my calf. Also, my right anterior hip bone aches horribly.
Avatar n tn Often SIJD is misdiagnosed for a low lumbar condition. Ppl have even had surgery on discs and still the pain persists. So when consulting your PCP I encourage you to have this considered. SIJD will not show up on an MRI or any of the usual and customary tests. So be aware of this fact. I encourage you to consult your PCP and get this pain investigated and treated. It could be due to an inflammation and/or irritation of your sciatic nerve caused from other reasons besides your SIJ.
Avatar m tn Yeah, I don't have the tolerance that most people here have. The longest I have ever been on pain meds is about 5 weeks when I really hurt my back and could not move...had to call 911 and they ended up kicking my door down. :) My sciatic pain is pretty bad but I'm sure my pain is nothing like others on here are suffering. I took a clorazepate about 7, my other meds about 8:30 and the hydrocodone about 10:00. I'm still pretty buzzed. The 10mg hydro has always done me pretty good.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am having pain in my lower right back. This has been going on now for almost 2 years. My symptoms change all the time whether it be sharp pains in my groin, my leg and my hip, and muscle spasms but the pain in my back is always there. The doctors say there is nothing they can do and nothing showed up in my MRI. I have been going to physio, massage and chiropractor for over a year now and nothing is working for me. PLEASE HELP!!! I would appreciate any comments that you have.
Avatar f tn I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
Avatar f tn ve had the pain for two years will it ever go away or do I have to take drugs to get it to go away. I heard the brain changes can it change back with exercise?
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
Avatar n tn I have tried several muscle relaxers over the years for my shoulder pain and flexeril is the only one that works for me. It helps with the pain and also helps me to sleep. I am really sensitive to medication so I usually only take half of a 10 mg tablet at bedtime. Sometimes when I am in a a lot of pain during the day I'll take a quarter. It helps without making me too tired. Hope this helps some.
Avatar n tn He knows nothing about Doctor Shopping, it was my idea for him to see a doctor somewhere to get help for his severe pain - he has degenerative arthritis in his neck with compressed and bulging disks so I thought I was helping by taking him to my local doctor (I didn't realize he wouldn't mention the Tramadol and I think his anger, etc.
7188197 tn?1399464311 I was cautioned against chiropractic for my extruded disc and sciatica, as it could worsen my condition. I am 8 and one-half months post-injury and while I still have some sciatic pain, my day-to-day functioning is much improved. Good luck!
5597890 tn?1370629516 I was given fentanyl 25 on the patch for a month and really worked for a bit, but still had to take oxycodone 15 mg for break through. Pain still there. Yesterday changed pain management doctors, my last doctor only treated me like a number. New pain doc increased my fentanyl patch to 50. And is trying a different type of epidural and seems more aggressive in helping me get my back fixed than the other who I felt like just a number. has anyone been on these patches ?
Avatar m tn Wow, I'm out of action for at least 16 hours after just one Flexeril! And for the entire next day I'm a space cadet.
Avatar m tn I'm glad to hear you got some relief from Flexeril. It didn't do anything for my pain at all. It only made me feel stoned and hungover. I'd be careful drinking with it, particularly because you just started taking it. You might experience some kind of cumulative effect after taking a few doses.
Avatar f tn flexeril is not a drug of abuse as a norm..and good for u...made it thru to day 5..
Avatar f tn I see a pain management doctor and have spinal injections every 12 weeks. I was prescribed Vicoden 10/325 for pain as well as flexeril and gabapentin. Neither the flexeril or the gabapentin seem to help with muscle tightness, spasms, or nerve pain. I am seeing my doctor again in two days and I wondered if any one could tell me of medications that have worked for you. I have a high tollerence to medication, most do not make me sleepy at all.
Avatar f tn //www.healthline.com/health/back-pain/sciatic-stretches I agree that pain management seems premature here.
Avatar f tn Seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis can help your pain level as well as help get your body ready for birth. I am 33 weeks and have had back pain/issues since around 16 weeks. I would not still be working and functioning if I did not go to the chiropractor every week.
