I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
If the arm pain was actually related to some underlying heart issue, do you think taking Flexeril would make a difference in the arm pain? Meaning would the pill help the arm, even though it's refferred pain from the heart. I am getting relief from the Flexeril, which is making me think the muscles are relaxing in my back so the arm pains go away for awhile due to less tension.
It started about 2000 and seems to be getting worse. I have terrible ear pain, 1-10 a 9, burning, tingling, and weak and very tight muscles in my neck, running all the way down my upper back. I have been on Rx Topamax and a Flexeril a muscle relaxer for years. Do you think it could possible be a pinched nerve in my neck ?
if you have scarring in the muscle you might be able to find exercises through physical therapy that will help keep the jaw muscles relaxed and less painful. Muscle relaxants like flexeril or skelaxin are sometimes helpful. If the pain is from nerves, medications like Lyrica or gabapentin sometimes help. If there is a component of depression, Cymbalta might by helpful.
My problem is that I have no pain at all. Just severe weakness and some preasure in my upper jaw. Sometimes I just get this general ill feeling. but it only lasts for a few seconds but get it quite a bit. All my weakness goes away when i lay down but still have preasure in upper teeth. Could be from my sinuses. (the preasure) Is Naprosyn an OTC or Prescription?
I have tried several muscle relaxers over the years for my shoulder pain and flexeril is the only one that works for me. It helps with the pain and also helps me to sleep. I am really sensitive to medication so I usually only take half of a 10 mg tablet at bedtime. Sometimes when I am in a a lot of pain during the day I'll take a quarter. It helps without making me too tired. Hope this helps some.
I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
i wondered if you could be clenching your jaw and were unaware of it. That would definitely cause the pain. You could invest In a over the counter mouth guard to see if that helps. It could possible be that you are anxious and it is manifesting itself in your jaw.
Does Advil, Motrin or Tylenol help?
Have you tried ice or heat on it?
If isn't a good idea during detox to drink anyway. It can definitely cause some issues that exasperate the withdrawal.

The doctor stopped the Flexeril as soon as I told him about the palpitations. As for Naproxin, I got chest pain from that. Also, Celebrex gives me insomnia after two days. So, I took Ibupropin with food for two weeks for oral surgery and it helps my bad a little but not much anymore. Tylenol works better but I stay away from that most of the time. Usually, my pain isn't intollerable just uncomfortable now.
Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
We went to the psychiatrist to rule out anything psychological. He was depressed BECAUSE of his headaches, and not vice versa.
Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................
Am i allergic to flexeril, benadryl, and most PM drugs? I have scoliosis, a bulged disc, and very mild arthritis in my back, but the pain can get to be unbearable. my muscles are so tight and knotted that it can leave me in tears (20 year old male). i have been taking flexeril for a year, and i have only used two bottles (60 10mg tablets) however, when i took one two nights ago, i began to shake and get very cold.
I am new to this site, saw your post, and feel compelled to tell you about my experience with Flexeril. Several years ago I was having serious neck spasms, so my doctor prescribed Flexeril. I don't remember the milligram, it was standard, and I was to take 3 a day. The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash.
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
