Common Questions and Answers about Cyclobenzaprine neck pain

flexeril

Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community. First of all. 2 Advil is not much at all! I take 4 every 4-6 hrs! Four is prescription strength. I am not saying you can take that many.....my doctor says some ppl can take Advil and some cannot. I am just saying.....try it. You will know if it makes you sick or not. Second, I recommend you see a Neurologist. They can properly diagnose you and put you on some preventative drugs as well as abortive drugs to treat the migraines.
Avatar n tn Then my doctor put me on tramadol with cyclobenzaprine. I was still experiencing shots of pain down my arms About a month later, so my doctor had me get a MRI of my neck. The MRI showed I have small, minimal, and broad posterior disc bulge but does not contact the cord throughout C2-3, C3-4, C4-5, C5-6, C6-7; C7-T1 is normal. By the time I saw my doctor, I began to develop numbness and tingling which spread from my right hand to my whole body, face and all.
Avatar f tn Went to emergency with severe pain in right shoulder, up into the neck and down the right arm (woke up with it). Have been on 500 mg. Naproxen , twice daily, for 3 weeks, and 10 mg. Pms-cyclobenzaprine every 8 hours. I'm still experiencing pain plus some new tingling down the arm. Should I be going back to my doctor? It seems this is taking an unusually long time to get better.
1243543 tn?1269124022 I went to my doc because ive been having pain in my neck head and shoulders.Everyone kept telling me it was from my generalized aniety disorder i have and take some ibprofen.Well that would help a little but it still hurt.I told my doc nothin was workin so she gave me a xray and said i have mild rematoid arthritis in my neck and really bad muscle spasms which is causing the sharp pains in my head that last for only about a min but hurt really bad and my neck and shoulder pain.
2085202 tn?1373199740 Have been on lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers then have been taking them rather frequently but still following the proper dosage instructions. Started getting respitory depression think I almost died....stopped breathing in sleep...lungs seemed depleted yet constricted...weak in the diaphragm. Went off it now and now feeling what seems almost like heart attack symptoms.
Avatar n tn Internal organs can cause pain in different parts of the body; this is called "referred pain." Generally, the heart refers pain more towards the left arm and shoulder, and sometimes up into the neck and jaw. Gas can also send weird pains all throughout your body, up into your chest and even into your groin and inner thigh. Spinal misalignment can induce poor posture, which can snowball into pain virtually anywhere in the body.
676302 tn?1237863491 ve had 3 cervical surgeries so I have a lot of upper back and neck pain. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn My neurologist just gave me some samples of Amrix, a time relased form of Cyclobenzaprine Hydrocholoride. He prescribed it for the pain and limited range of motion caused by tight neck muscles that didn't respond to stretching excersises. This is day two and I find it a remarkable improvement. I take it once a day in the evening and it seems the main sleepiness side effect is over while I sleep while the benefits remain the next day.
Avatar m tn I just remembered that about a year ago I was prescribed some muscle relaxers for my neck (Cyclobenzaprine). Do you guys think that if I take one or two of them when I am having a hard time sleeping from the restless legs s**t that it will help me sleep?
Avatar n tn , with a short acting hydrocodone for breakthrough (and have been tried on both Cyclobenzaprine and then switched to what Wobby65 mentioned, Zanaflex). But I think both thise pain meds you mentioned are short-acting pain meds. which I've not heard much about taking 2different short acting meds. If your Dr. rx'd, then that what he rx'd... Did he say take those together/within the same day together? Best Wishes!
917815 tn?1377498254 My right shoulder has been killing me the last 2-3 weeks, and this weekend, seems to have gotten worse; Doc said on Fri, most likely muscular...went through the weekend with Tylenol and today, pain is even worse. I asked him for something "non-narcotic" (he knows about my addiction) and he suggested Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer). I've taken this in the past and i remember no "high" feeling, just put me to sleep... Is it ok to take this?
Avatar f tn Today I still have constant burning sensations and tingling in my back, legs, feet, arms, and hands (now neck too). Sometimes I have numbness. Now taking Gabapentin 3x daily, Ibuprofen 800mg, Cyclobenzaprine 10mg. My primary doc is on vacation and I want her to give me an MRI order for my full spine. I've only gotten an order for only my lumbar spine from another doctor. What could I have.....
Avatar m tn In June 2020 I got a bout of laryngitis. I continued on for 10 days w/ progressing neck pain radiating up to my temple on right side. Sent for Covid test (neg). Worsened and went to ER. Xrays and CTs showed slight protrusion of C4&5 and C6&7, but otherwise - normal. CBCs normal. SedRate/Inflammation marker - normal. I am female, 5'8 140, overall good health. In the last 9 months, ENT for laryrngoscopy -> clear.
Avatar n tn I have had three car accidents, none of them "my fault". I have been plagued by severe memory loss, word retrieval & flashing pain in the right side of my head above the ear to behind the eye. The Neuro-Psych testing showed my IQ as 127 but my ability to access is from below average to low average. Also, multi-tasking, that I used to do without thinking, is an impossibility for me now.
Avatar f tn It was very pressure-y feeling and then had minor shooting and pinching pain in the back of the head. I went back and he gave me cyclobenzaprine and more diclo to de-tense my muscles - the combo seemed to work great for 10 days and the pressure was less, the pain was less and the pinching went away. But as soon as I was off it went away. At this point OTCs didn't help except BC Powder. I went to a neuro and had an MRI no contrast and came back clear.
Avatar n tn Did you find out what caused your problem? Myself, I've had several back and neck surgerys. Recently, I have experienced severe pain in my upper left leg and hip area unable to move my leg, and foot. I'm unable to walk. My, leg feels like it weighs 500 pounds. It, really scares me. Please, let me know if you got any helpful advice.
Avatar m tn Hello. I'm a 20 years old female dealing with this back pain for almost 3 years now. I've told my doctor my symptoms greatly align with fibromyalgia yet she refuses to give me any sort of diagnosis. She just tells me "it'll probably go away soon, just take it easy." Which is a pathetic answer if she saw what i go through every day. I haven't been in any sort of accident, one day it just came, it hasn't left and just progressed.
1838963 tn?1318496884 medical background: I am 21 years old. I have been having severe headaches since I was 16. Chronic joint pain at 16 as well. I was EXTREMELY active as a child/teenager. (Swimming, Soccer, Cheerleading, Tennis, Track, Volleyball) Pain became worse after I had a child.
Avatar f tn Just for future reference/searches. If this is what the capsule looks like: http://www.pharmer.org/node/5822 Collins is a foreign pharmaceutical company in Mexico. They use the same green/yellow capsules for multiple medications they produce, so it's really just a guess what's inside the capsules as they don't mark medications like in the US. The two known medications they use that capsule with are 'Flocet' (fluoxetine) and 'Veldrol' (tramadol).
Avatar n tn constant pain in back of head/neck. occasionally whenever i exert force (either running, doing a push up, or anything that heightens your heart rate), i get intense throbbing in my temples & upper neck/back of head so much that it is debilitatingly painful. My doctors put me on meds (namely painkillers), but they tried triptyphan shots (sp?) and another 3-day medication. nothing has helped. in fact the trypt shot actually seemed to make it worse (throbbing increased).
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm withdrawing from Xanax, weaning off 0.25 every 3 weeks or 4 weeks, but what I find most disconforting is the muscle aches and " like knots " that form in my sholulder blades and neck. I s methocarmabol effective against this symptom? Please let me know.
1794411 tn?1321495731 I was dx'd w/ bulging discs in my neck and then today I went to the Pain Management clinic and found out that I have another bulging disc in my lower back. I am going to be having cortisone shots in my neck.. little nervous about that. But hoping it helps. The funny thing is... I have not had any car accidents or injuries to cause any of this. The only thing is that it seems EVERYONE in my family has the same problems....
Avatar f tn Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?

Avatar f tn Welcome to the medhelp neurology forum. Flexeril or cyclobenzaprine or baclofen are not associated with hoarseness of voice. More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise.
Avatar n tn Based on the findings, Cyclobenzaprine HCl should be used with caution in subjects with mild hepatic impairment starting with the 5 mg dose and titrating slowly upward. Due to the lack of data in subjects with more severe hepatic insufficiency, the use of Cyclobenzaprine HCl in subjects with moderate to severe impairment is not recommended. http://www.drugs.com/pro/cyclobenzaprine.
