Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia leg length

Avatar f tn I do have a knee jerk reaction to mention magnesium deficiency when i see intercystital cystitis lol. Some of your symptoms are listed under syringomyelia such as the leg pain and back pain. In most cases syringomyelia is related to Chiari 1 malformation. The second major form of syringomyelia occurs as a complication of trauma, meningitis, haemorrhage, tumour, or arachnoiditis. There is quite a good list of symptoms on the Chiari One website - symptoms list.
665881 tn?1248930597 I have to sleep on my right side and cannot have any seams down my leg or it feels like a knife sawing up and down the length of my leg at night when I sleep , sometimes digging in if I lay in one position too long.
Avatar n tn driving (turning the wheel) carrying shoppping bags, holding the dog lead at arms length. I just cannot do the simplest things without feeling pain. I have never felt pain like it before, it is unlike any strain, or exercise induced pain I have ever felt. It feels likethe muscle is being ripped, or twisted. I went to my GP two weeks ago, who told me I am 'anxious', and that aches and pains are probably perimenopausal in origin (I am 50) I am not one to argue with the doctor (yet!
Avatar f tn On the first day it took the med it helpd but the next day it did not offer any relief. I was told that maybe it is some type of fibromyalgia. I started walkn the day after my first serious attack of pain. And it gave me comfort. However, a few minutes after gettn home, the pain slowly came back. At this point i have pain all day long & all night long and sittn is so uncomfortable for me.
195469 tn?1388326488 The back problems which you described sounds exactly like chronic sciatica, even down to the shooting pain down your leg and the inability to sit for any length of time. MIRAPEX (2+ mg./8 hrs), this formula has worked great for me for both pain and RLS. however with all these medications are going to have their own side effects or maybe the side effects from this one will be different than the other.
975514 tn?1325001538 section_id=27670#sec_27670 I urge you to introduce yourself below and tell us a little about what brought you to the Fibromyalgia/CFS Forum. Again, welcome to MedHelp and the Fibromyalgia/CFS forum!
Avatar n tn It is so bad that I can not even move my leg except to straighten it out length ways. Little by little I inch my way onto my back and only then do I get relief, which is next to instant. I also have a severe case of RLS and have to take meds for that. I do wonder if this other might be related. Although RLS is not painful as such, it is a feeling that something is not circulating correctly inside my skin and is trying to push its way out through my skin.
Avatar n tn no numbness or anything on the back of my leg. While the leg is numb, it still gets itcy and it is very irritating to scratch it. If I stand or walk for too long, the burning sensation comes into play, and I have to sit down, because it also hurts my lower back, makes my back feel like it will break if I don't sit down. This has been going on for 23 years! And not one doctor can tell me what is wrong...
Avatar n tn I feel quite sure this is a symptom of it, but with the pain I am having in that leg at the hip and the vibrations down the leg, I need relief, not diagnosis. I am already taking arthritis medication, though it appears that may need to try another type to address this issue. I am also taking over the counter Glucosamine and chronditin, which are combined supplements that are suppose to help regenerate the cartilage around the joints that causes osteo-arthritis.
Avatar m tn It takes awhile and also depends on amount and length of time using. It is not easy hang in there.
Avatar f tn Diagnosed with FM. Nothing helping. Leg pain much different than back; neck; shoulders; arms. can't even hold a book to read for much length of time anymore, muscles weak and feel burned out. But leg pain is ever present and bone deep. Ive' tried Lyrica; elvail; cymbalta; percoset; flexeril; all to no avail - off all of them now (this has been over a 2 year period); now on tramadol, which is also not helping. I am fine so long as I lie around and do nothing all day.
Avatar n tn For the past 2 days I have a very slight heat sensation in my lower left leg (no other problems). Is this some thing I should be concerned about now, or wait for my drs. appt in a few weeks?
Avatar f tn I have suggested CFS or Fibromyalgia, but they just scoff and say she's too young for that. They tested her for Celiac and she was negative. She had a duedenoscopy which showed insufficient gastric emptying, then a gastric emptying study which was fine. That's one out of two that was bad, but they said she was fine.
Avatar n tn going on 3 the pain in my right leg is almost gone but now im feeling the pain to start in my left leg also when im driving the pain flares up in right leg or when i bend over the pain in my back is bad and feels like all my leg muscles are being pulled i guess i just want to know if this is normal with a bulging disc
Avatar f tn I had an baby got an epidural, since the epidural I been having severe lower back pain and numbness and tingling in my right. Now this what the doctor have told me since. Before I tell can tell you can you tell me the probem. One doctor told me I haveBack Pain with Sciatica, Hematuria and he went on im his notes I have MS and the MS is called Arthralgia and Muscle problem.
Avatar m tn Finally, after years of making limited progress a chiropractor decided to test me for a leg length discrepancy. He said the absolute best way is a standing X-ray without shoes. Sure enough I was off by 10mm. Now, other therapists measured me for a leg length discrepancy, but could not identify one. As soon as I was corrected for the leg length issue the pain dissipated. Within a week I was exercising at full force. However, this wasn't the end of my ordeal. My pain returned.
Avatar f tn Have they ruled out fibromyalgia ? My mother has that and complains of the same symptoms. There is medication you can try to see if it improves your symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Avatar f tn is it possible for lupus to cause tingling and nerve pain on on side of the body? These weird sensations are from my face down to my leg. My father and brother both have lupus, and I am positive for lupus anticoagulant...I have had mri' spot on my brain on the right side, pea sized...that's it, normal neck and spine mri and normal lumbar puncture results...
Avatar m tn I am a 36 year old female that was diagnosed by my rheumatologist a year ago with Fibromyalgia. I have been noticing my symptoms were getting worse with increase leg pain, numbness and weakness, arm numbness and vertigo as well as insomnia. I do have a family history of MS and ALS with my biological father. I recently had a MRI without contrast which states: No definite acute incarct or acute intracranial hemorrhage.
Avatar f tn Judging from your description of your leg pain, I would bet that you are suffering from varicose veins. They proliferate during pregnancies, due to the weight of and pressure caused by the fetus. They don't go away! They continue to branch out and often begin to bulge, although sometimes well under the skin where they are not visible. They can cause excruciating pain when walking, climbing stairs, or during any other activity in which you are on your feet. Treatments are available.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and I had been on Klonopin, Flexeril, Tramadol, and Vicodin. I have been feeling better and stopped all my medication with the exception of Tramadol. I started tapering and found the tramadol makes me feel like I have a seizure when I stop taking taking it. I started cutting my dose by 1/2 pill every 2-3 days. The thing is, i just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. So I need to get offf of it quick but safely. any suggetions? I take 350 mgs/day, 50 mg capsules.
Avatar f tn I am a 35 yr old female in chronic pain and have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. My PCP says he feels in his gut that I have something neurological going on but Nuerologist says no. I have had all blood work known to man, of course nothing significant there. I have had MRI of brain and c-spine, Normal. My symptoms are many and I appologize now for the length of this. I am very desperate for answers and would appreciate any leads that someone could give me.
Avatar f tn I currently take Savella (an antidepressant specifically for fibromyalgia) and Vicodin 7.5/750 3x daily for my fibromyalgia pain. As bamabred said, opioids can be very addictive - I did not begin taking opioids for my body pain until about 4 years ago. Before that I had some for migraines, but only took them sparingly. I used OTC pain killers, Ultram, Vioxx (until it was outlawed), etc... When my back pain became unmanageable, my physician sent me to a pain management clinic.
Avatar n tn Since I was a young woman I have experienced problems with carrying heavy items in front of me, reaching over head and when I sit upright, say at a desk for any length of time or even sweeping or moping the floor. In 82 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after exhaustive testing and finding nothing "significient" on Xrays, scans, etc. I had burning in the shoulder blade, back of neck and spasm like pain that seemed to move around the upper back and sometimes in the Sac area.
698232 tn?1229600061 I am a 28 yr old female who has always had leg cramps. I have suffered with them since I can remember. I have always been able to take a hot bath, and apply a little absorbine jr, and find myself to sleep. Recently though this trick does not work. Now I not only get these cramps around bedtime in my legs I am getting them in my forearms at the exact same time. They hurt so bad its near impossible to bear. I have to constantly move my legs and arms when this pain occurs.
Avatar f tn That was when all the problems began. They couldnt find anything wrong so I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. They then sent me to a pain center and I have been having injections in my spine and I just choose the area that is hurting worse at the time. Since then I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and ddd, sleep apnea and now to top it off some of the medicines have caused stomach, duodena,l esophagus ulcers and a hiatus hernia.
Avatar f tn nose, and today has been really bad with these weird stinging like pain on the back of my leg. (kinda like bee stings) while the other leg was numb. As far as blood work goes, my platelets usually run high, I have a history of high EBV IGG/IGM and my ANA is all over the place (sometimes negative, to mixed pattern as high as 1:160 homogenous & 1:160 speckled)and of course the MDS say this is normal .
Avatar f tn As a child, I was in a car accident (car lost control, pinned me against a building). Was left with a significant leg length discrepancy (10cm). 2011, had shortening procedure. Now I have neurological issues...lots. For years, I've had back pain. Over the years, it's gotten worse. I started having burning sensations. Leaving a doctors appointment in 2012, started having cold sensations in my spinal region of my back. On my way home, my feet started feeling cold and wet.
