bump. I am curious about the effects of prednisone on fibro.
For me this unexpected journey into the domain of constant pain started in my left foot,
then I experienced swelling and pain in my left leg, shortly after in my right leg. I can no longer walk more than 10 to 15 minutes before my legs give out on me. Once I was diagnosed properly and receive pain-management as well as physical therapy and hydro-gymnastic several times a week I have had periods of time that were almost free of pain but also flare-ups that totally destroy my quality of life.
Fibromyalgia is widespread pain throuout the entire body,it actually hurts to be touched.Maybe a possible pinched nerve or sciatica?

I have had a problem for years with swelling feet,ankles, & hands & wrists. I asked the doc that I was seeing at the time & she just shrugged. The doc's figured I have been suffering for the past 24 years with FM but was always misdiagnosed until Jan. of this year. I find if I stand for any length of time, sit for any length or walk to much I seem to swell. I am in a very hot & humid part of Canada. I think it is part of the FM as there is no other explaination by the docs.
I am a 32 year old female from Delaware who was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 9 years ago.
Usually conditions of heart, kidney, liver or low protein or severe anemia, which cause ankle and leg swelling cause both ankles to swell. Hence if both ankles and leg are swelling then you will need to get heart function assessed by ECHO and EKG, TMT, get kidney and liver function tests done and get a complete blood picture for anemia. Low sodium in blood, hypothyroidism and malabsorption syndromes causing low protein in blood have to be looked into.

I know when I suffered from my ovarian cysts that I would get pain in the crook of my leg from the pressure. since you have had a complete hysterectomy I doubt that could be the problem unless an ovarian remnant was left behind. Wish I could help more there.
I am also dealing with swelling in my ankles/feet/hands. My doctor has run arthritis tests and no dice and a host of other things. The only thing that came back is that my thyroid hormones are off.
I started to get up for the day. It was a regular morning. Except my right leg was bent like I was sitting in a chair. I laid back down and began trying to stretch it out. After approximately 45 minutes I was able to get everything to move except my ankle which was now stuck in a downward position. I have had some weird symptoms through the years. I have a diagnosis of MS, fibromyalgia and Dysautonomia. So, I didn't rush to the dr. thinking it might be drop foot.

I am 46 years old and have a lot of leg pain and fatigue what might it be? sometimes it hurts so bad i cannot walk?
For the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing severe leg pain from mid buttock to lower calves in both legs. My thighs are sore to the touch and on occasion I am almost unable to move one of my legs while lying in bed because the pain is so severe. Advil relieves the pain to some degree, but not entirely. I have not exercised due to recent hernia surgery and am not taking any medications that are new.
Please if someone can help, I regularly have chronic pain in all parts of my body since I have 4 bulge discs on my cervical and lumbar, scoliosis,stenosis,fibromyalgia, multiple spasms on my cervical and sciatica I also have fibromyalgia and a Chianti malformation.
