Avatar m tn HI...I am working with a Dr on MedHelp for an exercise program for us!! As soon as I know it is doable I will let u all in on it... Now as for a diet, I have a few questions...do u know if u have a thyroid issue? were u checked lately for an autoimmune issue? How about Ehlers-Danlos? Do u ever have issues with IBS? Sorry for the questions, but they will help in answering ur question.
Avatar n tn low calorie diet and exercise.
Avatar n tn I appreciate the menu descriptions. I would love to lose about 20 pounds. I'm hoping that this diet will be the one! I will definitely be checking out GHI Medical. Good luck to you & your friend. I will watching for your success! I'll let you know what happens in a few.
Avatar n tn It is difficult to attribute all your symptoms to one neurological disorder, although some disorders that could be evaluated for would be obstructuve sleep apnea (causes fatigue, more common after rapid weight gain), diabetes, celiac disease (blood tests available, gluten diet sensitivity), polymyalgia rheumatica (WSR blood test check for this) and even weight gain/being overweight.
563571 tn?1232494790 That is to say is there a wide range of types such as lower than normal weight, normal weight, and higher than normal weight? I know that weight loss, when there is extra weight, can help to aleviate some types of body pains and I was just wondering if there is any connection with Fibro and type of pain.
Avatar f tn It's too the point that it's embarassing for me to call in to work sick but I really am too exhausted and in pain to go to work. Because I'm overweight my dr just want me to lose weight and I'll be fine. While I agree that being overweight can cause these symptoms, I'm just at my wits end - what if it's something else. I'm in so much pain and discomfort that exercising is too much for me. How do I know - how do I get the dr to at least consider it might be something else?
Avatar f tn However, for type 2 you may be able to control it very successfully for a long time or even forever if you take care of your weight, follow a lower carb and healthy diet, and exercise. Exercise is critical to helpign manage sugars. However, even if you have to use meds do whatever it takes to successfully control your sugars. If you have fibro, please make sure you have had your thryoid tested. This should include TSH, FT3 and FT4.
Avatar n tn Says does not look like MS or other problem and to come back if worse or lose fx. So, What can I do to relieve this numbness? I do stretches(yoga) just about every morning and some pilates for strength. I take whole food supplements, no caffiene, very little sugar. HELP....
242532 tn?1269553979 If these two roommates don't talk to each other they will just alternate in control and you will be a yo-yo dieter. You will diet and lose weight and then your other self will take over and you will gain all the pounds back plus about 10%. You may do this for decades with only fat and frustration as your reward for the thousands of days of dieting deprivation. Wouldn't you be better off talking to your skull mate? Stop making you binge Of course you would...
Avatar f tn Why is it everything they give you for this makes you gain weight yet they tell you to lose the weight to help relief stress from your muscles. Go figure.
267076 tn?1270677931 Yeah, the heavy feeling in arms in legs just wears me all out. The Dr said I need to lose weight because of my fatty liver. I'm going to try the Mayo Clinic Diet and see what happens. I'm also going to try to get more exercise. It will be hard because of the pain but worth trying. I don't like to take drugs so am trying to find natural things or suppliments to take for the pain and other things. I also have a curve in my spine which may be part of the pain.
Avatar n tn ( not a good thing i kno you are just trying to lose weight and not become a bodybuilder but you might want to have some kind of muscle lol. What i always tell my gym buddies dont worry about the scale for results the scale wont tell you if you lost inches off your waist the scale wont tell you if you lost some fat and turned it into muscle making you weigh more the scale is just what you weigh thats it.
251922 tn?1193786078 It is still more weight lose than most diets. Well I am still in phase 1. Day 27, total loss 28.5lbs. I had two cheat days which set me back 3-4 days each time. Still not bad though. I will be on phase 1 for 44 days. I am going to start injections on Oct. 20. My granddaughters 2nd birthday party. So I will get to have cake and ice cream on my gorge days! I sure hated to wait so long to start injections(especially since I have all my stuff now) Have a good day to you all!
1852058 tn?1320162300 If you took a test to see how much blood volume you had in your body, it would prob show 30% less than what you should have for you size/weight. Bartonella causes sore ankles, hot/burning sensations, headaches worse than migraines. Go to www IMMED org and look under autoimmune illnesses. They talk about infectious mycoplasmas which can be a coinfection as well. Search Columbia University /Lymes. They have an EXCELLENT site for very good info.
Avatar f tn i just really need some advice on how i can managed my diet around the shifts all the while looking after my fiance's diet as he has fibromyalgia i really appreciate any help and advice you can give us, thank you
Avatar f tn I know I really need to do my best to go on a Candidas diet for a while, which may actually help me lose weight in the process. I hope. Anyway, here is a really great link for Candidas diet: http://wammytk.hubpages.com/hub/Candida-Diet-Cookbook The first page I found when I was looking for this was here: http://wammytk.hubpages.com/hub/The-Candida-Diet-Part-II That said, there really is more, like you said. Glutenology.
Avatar n tn I didn't find an endorcrine cause of her weight gain but hopefully the metformin will help her lose. Yes...those are the EXACT WORDS!
Avatar n tn do any one know if there is any doctor...
1047234 tn?1253547296 I have Fibromyalgia and am RH negative, as well!
Avatar n tn I have gained weight and lost so much muscle. I am so motivated to lose weight but nothing works. I have turned to a vegan lifestyle, walk 2.5 miles a day, religiously count my calories, and drink at least 48 oz of water a day if not more. I lost 1 pound in 2 weeks!!! Can anyone relate to what I am going through and give me some helpful advice...please???

139792 tn?1498589250 While people with celiac disease have little choice but to avoid gluten, others may be avoiding gluten in an effort to trim pounds. That may work -- but it may not be the best way to lose weight. Where Gluten Hides Gluten is the common name for the proteins found in specific grains, and it is found in all forms of wheat. Ashley Koff, a Los Angeles-based registered dietitian, uses the acronym "BROW" (barley, rye, oat and wheat) to help clients remember where gluten is found.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if losing weight (if thats even possible with the unexplained weight gain I seem to be having) would help out with the nasty side effects i know are part of the treatment. I have heard that many people lose weight while on the treatment of peg interferon and ribo. Is this true and does it lower your dose of the ribo? I am confused about treatment as I am only a grade 1 and stage 1. Yet I am developing fibromyalgia and RA.
Avatar n tn I was told that I should lose weight to lessen the symptoms. My mom told me about a way that she was hearing about. It was a low glycemic diet. Basically what that is is you eat any protein, any fat(vegtable fat prefered)and the only carbs you eat(but you eat as much as you need to)are carbs that don't raise your blood sugar..most are green and have a lot of fiber. There are other foods but thats the basics. Anyway, 2 weeks into doing this, my FMS symptoms disappeared.
Avatar f tn As the episodes continued, I felt the need to go on a diet. Nothing worked! My weight watchers coach basically accused me of lying about sticking to the program because I actually gained while I was on the plan. My legs and feet are now constantly swollen and I am in constant pain. I have pitted edema. I have been to every specialist under the sun and every test indicates I am in perfect health. Finally I found a doctor who believed me and found that I suffered from hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn I take 50mg L-thyroxine since the beginning and the last time the lab reports showed very low TSH level but ok T4(dont remember exact values). The problem is that it is still very difficult for me to lose weight.
