Avatar f tn with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I have a neck injury from prior domestic abuse. I am getting worse. I don't know where to turn next to get help. I am frustrated at 3 hours a day I have to do something and then I have to lay down. Anyone know of any more tests to ask for, any new diagnoses? I am on Cymbalta and Percocet 5 mg. I hurt. I hurt so bad. Sometimes it feels like my bones ache. I would love to look up or try your ideas for something to help.
675329 tn?1297288378 boy o boy do I agree with VintageChicken. Your doctor sounds like a prescription nut!. Do you have a diagnosis? or is he just pulling the names of medicine out of his, ah, er, hat? I must say I've never heard of Gabapentin nor Zonegram. I'm sorry to say I have heard of Topamax-simply no place in Fibromyalgia treatment from every report I've heard, read, seen and made from personal experience. It cripples every mind that I've learned about.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! I'm sorry I don't know what sfn is. Can you give me the full name of your condition?
5513308 tn?1369233139 t have any specialists in this area, that I know of, for FMS. I try to eat a well-balanced diet, get enough sleep, drink plenty of fluids and to not take on too many responsibilities. It certainly doesn't cure the FMS, but it does help me cope. If I am careful I can go months without a "spell". What other "natural" ways do people deal with FMS? (I don't like taking supplements as they tend to hurt my stomach.) Any ideas?

Avatar f tn I was recently told by someone that works with fibromyalgia patients that a gluten free diet could lessen my symptoms. Just trying to figure out what has or not has gluten has been confusing and a bit discouraging. But I am willing to try it if it works. Has anyone tried it? What were your results?
Avatar m tn My doctor is sending me to be "tested" for Fibromyalgia. She has told me, and from what I have read, it is a disease that is difficult to diagnose. What test(s) do they use and how painful are the test(s)? Also, is Fibromyalgia a hereditary disease? My mother had it and my aunt has had it for the last two years. Thanks!
Avatar m tn stiff muscles years, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Primary Immunodeficiency, Chronic infections.... lung damage( 11 Nodules watching closely) Ace levels normal. Eventually tested and confirmed CVID. Worsening pain & stiffness. MRI’s confirm ddd, stenosis and hypertrophy. Dizziness, nausea, tremors, tripping on my on feet continue. Neurologist’s perplexed. Autoimmune tests normal. PT eval says gait and dynamic balance disorder. In Vestibular PT for nausea and dizziness, diagnosis 3pd.
Avatar f tn At this time, there is no "cure" for fibromyalgia - one main reason being is they have not determined exactly what causes fibromyalgia. There are many thoughts and ideas on it, however, nothing has been scientifically proven/discovered. There also are no specific blood tests, scans, etc., for diagnosing fibromyalgia = there ARE certain critieria that need to be met before a true fibro diagnosis.
1353681 tn?1387083733 Has she had her nutrient levels checked? Especially electrolytes? How's her diet? Has she tried cutting out dairy, wheat, and other common allergens? Seen an orthopedic surgeon to see if there are any hip or back problems pinching on nerves? If she's tried absolutely everything, it's time to see better docs, such as going to Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins.
Avatar f tn Everything that I eat gives me indigestion, and I'm hungry all the time and don't know what to buy because I've never been a good diet person besides Diet Coke and I gave that up. I've tried looking on YouTube for good meals to cook but with school and work I dont have much time for cooking gourmet. If anyone has any good ideas for fast "cheaper" meals I would greatly appreciate it!
Avatar f tn You can type those into the computer and do some reading. Maybe try a gluten free diet and see if it helps with both (the gluten free diet is for the celiac disease). Celiac disease causes inability to absorb alot of nutrients in the intestines, and can cause many symptoms. Magnesium is one of them. Just a thought. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn s, etc were done and doctors, through a process of elimination, came to the conclusion that I had fibromyalgia. At that time there was no Lyrica, they gave me Zoloft 50mg. I was someone who exercised daily and felt great until then. The exercise went down to very, very, little because of the pain. It took a few weeks, but I got better. The zoloft also helped with the depression. Wishing you well and never give up.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, biopolar II disorder about 2 years ago and recently was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I'm on multiple medications for all three and in the past two years I've gained between 40-50lbs. It's nuts. I have gone on weight watchers, I watch all my food and track it, I eat healthy and I cannot lose any weight. I'm trying to get some excercise in (treadmill) but my feet and hips are so painful I barely crawl out of bed in the am.
278469 tn?1219245951 One more suggestion: Eliminate all aspartame from her diet. This got rid of both my migraines and seizures, which is wierd because I've been drinking diet soda for years with no problems. Since eliminating aspartame (in diet soda, "light" yogurt, sugarless gum, etc.), my short term memory is improved an amazing amount. I'd never go back! It's an easy thing, and worth a shot - it doesn't work for everyone, but why not try?
Avatar n tn I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I've tried all of the meds they are currently prescribing for this. Has anyone tried alternative treatment for this? If so, did it work for you?
Avatar m tn You have a virus, and an antibiotic will not kill of virus bugs. You need to eat a healthy and well balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and plenty of drinks (not alcohol). Take pain relief as directed for any aches and pains and rest as much as you can.
1033336 tn?1252506131 Following then onwards, I have experince pain trobbing at the back, in between the joint of knees, in between the hip joint, upper and lower both of the legs, at the joints of the arms, in between fingers, at the palm of hands and feet. Am i suffering from fibromyalgia? Do i need to do a full body check-up for diagnosis?
Avatar m tn Very uncomfortable feeling, worse when I first wake up from sleep, but sometimes also all day long. Am I suffering from what is called fibromyalgia, does hepB cause this disease. I've already read that there are lots of other diseases that are caused by this terrible chronic illness.
