Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia diet ideas

fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn I'd say my energy levels havent always been great for as long as I remember but I can still run 5 or 6 mile runs almost 3 times per week. I am most concerned about fibromyalgia at this point. I saw a new rheumatologist today who did not rule it out. He did not examine me for the 18 points that I have read about. I told him that I had prostate problems in the past and I have had some constipation ehre and there since I was 19.
Avatar n tn Is there anybody out there that has been painfree for years that is not on prescription meds for fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Iam a mother with 2 young children and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. Since then I have been suffering with extreme pain that never lets up. I am curious if anyone else has ideas on which medicines work better for pain. I also suffer from depression and anxiety issues. I also have difficulty sleeping, I feel so alone, because neither my family or friends understand my problems. They think I do not really have medical problems. I appreciate if anyone replies!
Avatar f tn Try to treat yourself with as much care as you can, keep up finding that balance in your diet. Niko posted something yesterday about all natural ideas- check it out and I wish you much luck hon. The brain fog can be so frustrating!!!!
675329 tn?1297291978 I'm sorry to say I have heard of Topamax-simply no place in Fibromyalgia treatment from every report I've heard, read, seen and made from personal experience. It cripples every mind that I've learned about. And I can't believe you're on Serequel and Buspar and Wellbutrin. Frankly your doctor must see a serious mental annomally that he's treating. I'm not wanting to be offensive.

Avatar m tn My doctor is sending me to be "tested" for Fibromyalgia. She has told me, and from what I have read, it is a disease that is difficult to diagnose. What test(s) do they use and how painful are the test(s)? Also, is Fibromyalgia a hereditary disease? My mother had it and my aunt has had it for the last two years. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
Avatar f tn Mostly I was saying I can't take meds or herbs because I'm too hyperreactive so I've had to find other things. Ideas would be food diet changes, behavior changes for the dysautonmias, very very very graduated exercise, sometime vitaimins and such can help. I've rambled about all at various times. I'll try to come back and recreate my post. But now I have to go do my walk (before the stores close - I'm not doing today's outside in the cold), and then caulk a tub. So, talk to you soon.
Avatar f tn Hey chelan3, A couple suggestions to help you. Easy stuff! Go to the normal breathing website and learn how to breath properly! Seriously! It is the most under-rated wellness and health aspect. Inadequate and improper shallow breathing, helps produce lactic acid. A significant build up of lactic acid in your body will make you feel like an athlete who is"hitting the wall"half way into the marathon, not able to keep going anymore! And there are more benefits. Check it out!
Avatar n tn Hi Karmen, well I'm certainly not out of the woods yet but at least people are realising what has been going wrong with my health and as it happens I see my GP tomorrow to discuss treatment. To cut a long story short, my health had always been pretty good with the exception of stomach/bowel discomfort and swelling mid 90's which was suspected of being Chronn's but examination simply revealed severe inflamation in the duodenum and ileum.
Avatar f tn Tartaric acid toxicity has been implicated in the damage of muscle tissue and has been associated with many serious conditions as a co-factor, like chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, IBD, autism, colitis, alzheimer's etc. Tartaric acid is a malic acid antagonist, which means that it takes the place of malic acid, a very vital compound for the Krebs cycle ( metabolic process to convert food into energy/ over- simplified explanation).
Avatar m tn stiff muscles years, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Primary Immunodeficiency, Chronic infections.... lung damage( 11 Nodules watching closely) Ace levels normal. Eventually tested and confirmed CVID. Worsening pain & stiffness. MRI’s confirm ddd, stenosis and hypertrophy. Dizziness, nausea, tremors, tripping on my on feet continue. Neurologist’s perplexed. Autoimmune tests normal. PT eval says gait and dynamic balance disorder. In Vestibular PT for nausea and dizziness, diagnosis 3pd.
Avatar m tn Hey droc2013, welcome to the forum. It doesn't sound like Fibromyalgia. I would suggest you rule out low thyroid function first, as in low thyroid conditions, any organ, any bodily system can be affected and functioning at sub-optimum levels. Note: Re:Thyroid testing Thyroid Serum testing is flawed, as it is not necessarily indicative of cellular thyroid function ! Most conventional doctors order TSH,T3 and T4 at best.
Avatar n tn If you go for a bone density test, the doctor will be able to advice you on what to do to strengthen the bones. Here's some ideas to help with the pain and inflammation: 1. Epsom salt baths, use at least 1 cup of salts. The epsom has magnesium which helps the muscles function and repair themselves. This will especially help if you take a bath before you go to bed as it may lessen the pain and weakness upon waking 2.There's gels with menthol that help relieve pain.
1748829 tn?1338040641 hey had tooth removed today or technically had twisted gross broken root remove today and my Dr told me liquid diet for three days and i am trying to follow that to the letter because this is the worse tooth issue I have ever had to deal with and don't want it to get worse in anyway, so my question to you is what are some ideas for liquid diets that i could drink before my pills so there is something in my stomach so I am not any sicker then I have to be.
Avatar n tn Can anyone help me with food ideas for this VLCD?? Need help with protein especially and the dairy products that are allowed.
Avatar m tn Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Fibromyalgia Anemia Electro-sensitively The only other ideas I have right now are: Some type of Sleeping Disorder (e.g., Sleep Apnea) Anxiety Depression Something lacking nutritionally Carbon Monoxide Poisoning I’m supposed to get a Sleep Study done soon. But I don’t think it could be Sleep Apnea since I don’t fit the description (34 years old, thin). I thought that *maybe* it could be anxiety-related which I definitely suffer from.
Avatar f tn I was just told a month ago that I have fibromyalgia. I had surgery a little over a year ago for my thyroid. I'm taking 75 mg of Lyrica, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Any advice?
Avatar n tn I am a 43 yr old female. I have Fibromyalgia and have for over 10 years, so I'm achy, but to me that's just "normal". I have gained (according to them 50lbs but according to my scale about 35lbs in 9 months). I work out 3-4 days a week. I have a pretty decent diet, not big on junk food. I'm always tired (I even yawn at the gym!!) regardless of how much sleep I get. I have zero sex drive. Dry/Brittle Hair My hands get cold for no reason.
Avatar f tn I find it really diffucult to get my diet organized, plus I have very high colesterol as well and basically I need to change my diet very fast. When I got checked it last Aug it was 7.2 and my GP wanted to put me on pill which I refused. Now I dont have any other choice just to really cut everything from my diet because everything makes me sick. Any suggestion what to eat so I feel good and enjoy the food?
Avatar n tn Over a year ago was in a car accident and my muscles and joints hurt so bad most of the time its hard to have a normal day. Its not arthritis or lupus and Dr's are now saying fibromyalgia..I also have extreme burning in my joints and neck is this also a symptom of fibromyalgia?
289499 tn?1198217814 I have most of what you listed in your original post. I have no real answers either. I saw numerous doctors to no avail. I know it's not in your head. They all try to give that diagnosis when they can't find abnormalities on testing. It's a nightmare when tests don't show anything. The only real diagnosis I have gotten is fibromyalgia. This diagnosis goes right along with the "it's all in your head" diagnosis, in the trash can!
1619005 tn?1298868460 Have had some serious health issues that have escalated over the past year - have stabilized blood sugar with diet to control serious hypoglycemia (diet from an endocrinologist); controlling some sports-related osteoarthritis/compressed disks in my spine with Motrin regularly and cyclobenazprine rarely, as needed; regularly receive chiropractic work; I am also in the process of being treated for endometriosis with Lupron (has been working wonderfully, alleviated a lot of pain so far) and still,
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with benign tonsillar ectopia, fibromyalgia, vitamin d deficiency, and hypoglycemia in June after changing doctors. I was prescribed vitamin d 5000 units and Gabapentin 300mg Capsules. Pain has reduced but numbness and disorientation still there. My hands also go completely numb periodically. Had an eye exam and further testing on my vision. Nothing explained the double vision. All tests to include spinal tap and EMG show normal.
3213656 tn?1345825553 One or the other of those illnesses wouldn't necessarily predict an outcome of MS but both together most probably would. She has a lot of gastrointestinal issues as well and has been put on a gluten free diet and decaffeinated. That has helped with the fatigue and stomach ailments as well. She has minimal numbness and tingling in her arms and legs, usually on one side but when she "remits" is it almost incapacitating for her for at least a week.
1800611 tn?1315856590 Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Foundation supports the premise that most Fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant. The suggested tests above can detect both. Best wishes.
