Avatar f tn Im on a gluten free diet and i still have the rash. I have trouble falling asleep, and even when i get enough sleep im extremely tired. I find it hard to focus and im very forgetful. Im also restless, even though im tired i cant sit still. Im thirsty and have lost my appitite. Get realy bad chest pain and headaches right behind my eye. my doc isnt much of a help, ive been on google, self diagnosing. Isnt helping much either. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn People with eating disorders, kidney diseases, cancer, autoiimmune diseases, and anemia should not try this diet. A fibromyalgia detox diet means avoiding cheese, transfat, caffeine, chocolates, candies, alcohol, processed meats and restricting use of salt, sugar and fats. Medicines can be usually taken while on detox diet. Before discontinuing any medication consult your local health care provider. Hope it helps. Take care and best luck!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 10 years ago. About one year ago, after all of my cancer treatments were finished; I began to experience the muscle pain and chronic fatigue again in a big way. I have not been able to shake it. I have changed my diet. No soft drinks, no artificial sweeteners, and, a vitamin/anti-oxidant juice every day. I also excersize 3 to 5 days a week. Nothing is helping!
Avatar f tn I read Shannieks response concerning the diet she was put on for thyroid and fibromyalgia problems and was wondering if she could share with me. I too have been told I have these problems and have put on weight although I eat little. I have not yet been put on medicine due to the doctor is running a bunch of test and last week I had a biopsey . I am hoping to start the meds this week. Also the hot flashes are almost more than I can stand.

Avatar n tn Is there anybody out there that has been painfree for years that is not on prescription meds for fibromyalgia.
3202069 tn?1345404482 I have had fibromyalgia for about 8 yrs maybe longer. It is very hard to deal with. My legs bother me alot. I am on pain meds and eating certain foods make it worse. I go to an Integrative doctor Steve Windley. I would say that Diet and exercise help the most. Stretching is very important. My doctor told me that alot of Carbs cause the body to be inflamed. I also know that soda causes me to hurt all over. I get tightness in my legs and calves. I used to have alot of shoulder pain.
Avatar f tn with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I have a neck injury from prior domestic abuse. I am getting worse. I don't know where to turn next to get help. I am frustrated at 3 hours a day I have to do something and then I have to lay down. Anyone know of any more tests to ask for, any new diagnoses? I am on Cymbalta and Percocet 5 mg. I hurt. I hurt so bad. Sometimes it feels like my bones ache. I would love to look up or try your ideas for something to help.
Avatar f tn Many people who have celiac disease are written off as having IBS and it has also been proven that many people with IBS or IBD can benefit from a gluten free diet. Do not change your diet until after you have been tested as it can create a false negative. I hope you feel better soon.
1539272 tn?1292858201 Tight socks hurt calves, little bumps are quite painful and just keep hurting... Positive ANA, negative brain and spine MRI... Still looking for answers. Any ideas would be appreciated!!!! Thanks!
675329 tn?1297288378 boy o boy do I agree with VintageChicken. Your doctor sounds like a prescription nut!. Do you have a diagnosis? or is he just pulling the names of medicine out of his, ah, er, hat? I must say I've never heard of Gabapentin nor Zonegram. I'm sorry to say I have heard of Topamax-simply no place in Fibromyalgia treatment from every report I've heard, read, seen and made from personal experience. It cripples every mind that I've learned about.

Avatar f tn This is not a question. I believe that Fibromyalgia is caused my Gluten intolerance and MSG. Those two affect the IBS that plays a role in FM. I've felt so much better excluding these out of my diet. Dairy intolerance is another one. I started taking Gabapentin and that has given me back 80% use of my body. I can clean my house now and even garden for a short period of time. It has allowed me to walk about 1/4 of a mile each day.
725893 tn?1240460630 I guess I just need a little boost. Maybe I can speed up the Treadclimber and do more for my workout...Any ideas anyone?
Avatar f tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! I'm sorry I don't know what sfn is. Can you give me the full name of your condition?
Avatar f tn For a very long time we both thought we had Fibromyalgia and were both officially diagnosed by several different doctors. Anyone else out there have the same thing happen?
Avatar f tn At this time, there is no "cure" for fibromyalgia - one main reason being is they have not determined exactly what causes fibromyalgia. There are many thoughts and ideas on it, however, nothing has been scientifically proven/discovered. There also are no specific blood tests, scans, etc., for diagnosing fibromyalgia = there ARE certain critieria that need to be met before a true fibro diagnosis.
278469 tn?1219245951 One more suggestion: Eliminate all aspartame from her diet. This got rid of both my migraines and seizures, which is wierd because I've been drinking diet soda for years with no problems. Since eliminating aspartame (in diet soda, "light" yogurt, sugarless gum, etc.), my short term memory is improved an amazing amount. I'd never go back! It's an easy thing, and worth a shot - it doesn't work for everyone, but why not try?
5513308 tn?1369233139 t have any specialists in this area, that I know of, for FMS. I try to eat a well-balanced diet, get enough sleep, drink plenty of fluids and to not take on too many responsibilities. It certainly doesn't cure the FMS, but it does help me cope. If I am careful I can go months without a "spell". What other "natural" ways do people deal with FMS? (I don't like taking supplements as they tend to hurt my stomach.) Any ideas?
