i have fibromyalgia amongst other complaints.fro about 2 years i have had a swollen abdomen-lumpy and tender which progressed to sore and protruding ribs.have had ct and mri scans which gave no clues.doctors seem to ignore symptons,now i have a feeling of tightness around my ribs and am sore all around them.it feels like ribs are digging in me.

Following a good organic diet for borth migraine and fibromyalgia helps and avoiding stress. I have blackout shades in my home and NO FLOURESCENT BULBS!!! Warm baths are great. I've been watching some research at Stanford and hoping for success there. It's non narcotic and inexpensive. You can catch a youtube film about it by looking up stanford fibromyalgia. Good luck.

Thanks for the response I wil ask my PMP next time I see him if these meds are available in Canada yet. Does anyone know what has been safe to use during pregnancy? We have been trying to conceive our second and are afraid that this might make symptoms worse. Does anyone know?

humid part of Canada. I think it is part of the FM as there is no other explaination by the docs. I have just started taking beta blockers for high blood pressure so I know it isn't from them. I don't know if this helps at all hope so.

I don't know abt in the U.S....I am from Canada, but my PAIN MANAGEMENT physician will prescribe methadone or any other pain med....

Working in a restaurant I have met lots of people over the yars with the same symptoms as mine. One woman claims she is on disability for Fibromyalgia.....I am not ready for that yet, but was wondering if anyone on this forum is on disability for fibromyalgia, was it hard to get since most doctors think we are just crazy.

Hello again, I didn't realize you were in Canada. I am not sure if the NFA has a provider search for Canada- I think it's only for US residents. I apologize for the confusion. I would do what you can to try to begin the Cymbalta as well. It is an approved treatment for FMS here in the states, so chances are that your doctor already has it in his/her mind that you may have FMS.

I have now seen the rheumatologist and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia can any advise me as to what help I can get as some days these pains can be life limiting am finding it hard to even peel potatoes need advice thanks

I was recently told by someone that works with fibromyalgia patients that a gluten free diet could lessen my symptoms. Just trying to figure out what has or not has gluten has been confusing and a bit discouraging. But I am willing to try it if it works. Has anyone tried it? What were your results?

ve been diagnosed with Lyme Disease and some co-infections I seem to be running in to people that either have Lyme or know someone who does. This is in Canada. Most recently I ran in to an old acquaintance who explained that 5 years ago her son had a bullseye rash. They didn't know anything about LD then and assumed it to be a spider bite and did not recall an embedded tick. This lady herself had an embedded tick that doc removed, also a few years ago and only gave her a single dose of Doxy!

t know what to do for Lyme or Fibromyalgia and we have no doctors to help here in Canada for these diseases. By the way if you have Fibromyalgia, chances are Lyme is present and until the body is strong enough to attack the infections this doctor is helping to build up my system so that we can attack at least the Candida that he has found. I am going on a couple years here of extreme frustration with the health care field, and I am really sitting here now wondering why no one has brought up the fibromyalgia possibility to me. I have a 2 year history of left-sided chest/shoulder pain that has now spread to my back over the last few months, and also has begun to present itself on the right side. I also get tingling in my hands/feet for no apparent reason, shooting pain in my legs and arms.

Following then onwards, I have experince pain trobbing at the back, in between the joint of knees, in between the hip joint, upper and lower both of the legs, at the joints of the arms, in between fingers, at the palm of hands and feet. Am i suffering from fibromyalgia? Do i need to do a full body check-up for diagnosis?

I never had pains as strong as yours but I think the real cause to Fibromyalgia is depression and bad diet. (the only 2 pilsl doctros can prescribe are antidepressants and they dont really work because you cant fix depression just with antidepressants) Do you know that women are 9 times more likely to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia? Try exercising regularly and have a vegetable based diet. Paranoia, anxiety all exacerbate the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Try doing breathing exercises.

I have been told for 3 years I have Fibromyalgia along with osteoarthritis in many areas; osteoporosis (I have lost 2 and l/2 inches in 3 years; fracture mode; every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis.
