Avatar m tn I would just like to thank you in advance for Reading my post. I am a 21 year old male who was once extremely active but my health has deteriorated over the past 5 years. I have been to over 25 doctor visits over the past 5 years but have been unable to find a direct cause for my symptoms. I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve had blood taken (>20 times). My symptoms started gradually and have now gotten to the point where it’s all I can do to get out of bed and make I through the day.
Avatar n tn I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
1578792 tn?1310893478 There are a number of ways that Fibromyalgia can be diagnosed. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. Meaning, it is not uncommon for it to be diagnosed once everything else has been 'ruled out'. The areas of your pain are most likely trigger points, and if you push & poke around them, you might find a 'knot' in there that is painful. Some of my trigger points are not in the classic areas, but have a knot & are painful.
Avatar n tn com/ where patients review doctors, maybe there's a better one in your area. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, so I'm not familiar with US or UK doctors. Take care and I'm sure you'll get an answer from a doctor eventually ... I've learned with FM that one needs to keep pushing. For now, I would try and not worry about having an autoimmune disorder or FM until you've ruled out everything else.
Avatar f tn I was just told a month ago that I have fibromyalgia. I had surgery a little over a year ago for my thyroid. I'm taking 75 mg of Lyrica, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Any advice?

483733 tn?1326802046 Systemic lupus has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers. The victim usually does not know that the Aspartame is the culprit. He or she continues its use; irritating the lupus to such a degree that it may become a life-threatening condition. We have seen patients with systemic lupus become asymptotic, once taken off diet sodas. In cases of those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, most of the symptoms disappear.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the response I wil ask my PMP next time I see him if these meds are available in Canada yet. Does anyone know what has been safe to use during pregnancy? We have been trying to conceive our second and are afraid that this might make symptoms worse. Does anyone know?
Avatar f tn Both substances help produce energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which studies show can be deficient in fibromyalgia (FMS) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS or ME/CFS). Magnesium helps cells form and maintains muscles, bones and nerves. Some research supports magnesium malate for boosting energy and alleviating the pain and tenderness of FMS. Some FMS/ME/CFS experts recommend taking 140 mg of magnesium twice a day, and 600 mg of malic acid 3 times a day, before meals.
Avatar n tn com site (I live in Ottawa, Ont, Canada) and research everything you could find on fibromyalgia. The Internet has a wealth of information available for you to peruse. Here is what I did: I made an appt. with an Environmental specialist and a Naturopath. Between both of them I have come a long way. They checked my Thyroid Level, hormone levels, iron, adrenal function just to rule out any other problems. Once armed with this information I started on supplements to build up my immune system.
Avatar n tn My family doctor said that he didn't know what to do for Lyme or Fibromyalgia and we have no doctors to help here in Canada for these diseases. By the way if you have Fibromyalgia, chances are Lyme is present and until the body is strong enough to attack the infections this doctor is helping to build up my system so that we can attack at least the Candida that he has found. If you want to ask me more, don't hesitate to email me about this.

1359227 tn?1282525748 Hi, My name's Jeff , I'm from Toronto Canada.... I'm 28 years old, never had any significant health problems up until last December. In December 2009 I started to get a tingling burning sensation in my back around my left shoulder blade, after a week or so I started to notice my right shoulder blade was also the end of December the burning spread to my upper abdomen (the upper most part of my stomach) The burning would go back and forth between my back and stomach....
981885 tn?1248588722 I have been putting up with this pain on and off for a year now and now it is spreading to my shoulders, back, knees and ankles but the pain is most dominate and painful in my ribs. Only one doctor said that it could be Fibromyalgia but he basically said that the pain will come and go for the rest of my life and I will have to learn to deal with it. After hearing that I gave up going to the doctors, but now the pains are getting harder to handle and I would really like help.
939964 tn?1288020624 I was waiting anxiously when I heard this medication was very helpful for fibromyalgia patients, and coming to Canada. To my dismay I had all the side effects mentioned for this medication and was told by my doctor to stop taking it. Like Doctor Rajgopal mentioned about medications, I was given amitriptyline which helps me have a good night sleep and I feel more refreshed when I wake up.

573297 tn?1304712740 I am at the mercy of the welfare system here in Canada because I am waiting to be fast tracked on disability because I couldn't work....I just couldn't do it anymore. But welfare gave me 600 when my rent alone is 900 the math right....quite the deficit. I am freaking out...I don't know what to do? Do I need to go out and work until my disability comes in....but can I even cause I have acquired a part time job and I have called in twice in six shifts...not good odds...
Avatar n tn You are NOT alone! We are all here for you! Sometimes we can't respond right away, but we will respond. It's a crying shame what they put you through. Time to find another new "doctor" huh? IF that should ever happen again...offer up an arm to the doctor and tell him to draw blood and check for drugs in your system...that ought to shut him up. Or tell him that you aren't there for just want to know what is wrong.

Avatar f tn 5 (still within normal range in Canada) a year late my TSH was retested and settled at 3.6. I was feeling terrible last week and had my TSH tested again, it was at 6.45. My T3 Free is 4.3 ( Range is 3.5-6.5). My T4 Free is 12.6 ( Range is 10.0-19.0) MY Dr gave me the option of retesting in 6 months or go on Synthroid. I chose the Synthroid. My rational is that I would rather stop the progression now rather than take a chance that this condition could get worse.
Avatar n tn My first thought was fibromyalgia. Very hard to diagnose for most doctors. Generally the response is "it's all in your head". I did a quick google - here is a link:
