1353650 tn?1429463374 So, she treated me for the thyroid inflammation, thinking that was causing the fibromyalgia and reactive hypoglycemia. A few months later we discovered what I had because I went off my strict diet of no sugar and my condition came back even more severe. She then decided that I must have insulin resistance due to my symptoms (ovarian cysts, darkening of the skin around areas that are rubbed by my clothing and skin tags on my neck. If you know other fibro.

1662361 tn?1302762372 I am 23, I know I am over weight, I diet and exercise but never loss weight. I have been test for diabetes since I was 12, and my levels have always been low. I have noticed lately tho when I test because my mom and grandma are diabetic that my sugar levels are from 50 to maybe 75 no matter what I eat. I snack on granola and some times hard candy and sometimes cookies. I just feel sick all the time, and dizzy and i get really shaky and, Nothing I have been doing is working.
Avatar n tn I had a blood test and everything was fine, my cholesterol was a little high so I am changing my diet. I am 26 and 6'2" 180lbs and am getting frustrated becuase the dr.'s here cannot figure out what is going on. I have been taking some multi vitamins and also trying cinnamon tablets. What could be the possible reasons behind my body acting like this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn ve tried complex carb diet, protein diet, not having any carbs at all (that went all wrong my bsl went to 1.6) but it does not work. The only way I can have a reasonable normal level (i.e 3.5 - 4) is if I keep eating carb loaded / fast acting carbs all the time, like every hour. I have asthma too and recently discovered I can keep my levels between 4.5-6mmol/l if I have prednisolone or ventolin nebs and NOT have to eat all the time.
Avatar n tn There is no proven info regarding diet, and hypoglycemia is often misdiagnosed, either way -- those who have it are often told they don't and those who don't are often told they do. The real consideration here is how you feel, and given your age and activity I'd say you're problem is a whole lot less than those of most of us. You're doing well, so you can just continue what you're doing, assuming that's just the way you are.
Avatar m tn People with eating disorders, kidney diseases, cancer, autoiimmune diseases, and anemia should not try this diet. A fibromyalgia detox diet means avoiding cheese, transfat, caffeine, chocolates, candies, alcohol, processed meats and restricting use of salt, sugar and fats. Medicines can be usually taken while on detox diet. Before discontinuing any medication consult your local health care provider. Hope it helps. Take care and best luck!
Avatar f tn I have been having extreme bouts of hypoglycemia, back to back, making the ms feel ten times worse, was just wondering is there a link between having me, and suffering from frequent episodes of low blood sugar, especially in the morning?
Avatar n tn t been fun) or my body is healing itself with a lot of medicinal support. You need to eat a low GI diet as you may have hypoglycemia symptoms, they're similar to what you describe (and hypoglycemia is common with Fibromyalgia) and eat plenty of fresh food especially vegetables and 2 fruit per day, seeds, nuts and legumes (such as dried beans, lentils and chickpeas). Also check for food allergies (they arise with fibromyalgia and fatty liver).
Avatar n tn I have all the symtoms of hypoglycemia yet my glucose is never been below 62. Changing my diet to least amount of sugar and watching my carohydrates has helped tremendously. However, I still have difficulty with shoulder, arm and leg weakness, as after four hours of work I am exhausted. Eating protien will not return me to normal energy, only rest. What is low blood sugar doing to my muscles or is this something else?
Avatar f tn t eat fried or other fatty foods very often so I thought aside from the chocolate I had a pretty healthy diet. Could all of the sugar in my diet be causing my pancreas to over react? If so would this be reversible with diet? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 10 years ago. About one year ago, after all of my cancer treatments were finished; I began to experience the muscle pain and chronic fatigue again in a big way. I have not been able to shake it. I have changed my diet. No soft drinks, no artificial sweeteners, and, a vitamin/anti-oxidant juice every day. I also excersize 3 to 5 days a week. Nothing is helping!
Avatar n tn Can cirrhosis or impaired liver function cause hypoglycemia. They said I did not have diabetes. My doctor said I need to now eat a high protein diet. Thanks for response in advance.
Avatar f tn Eat a high protein diet to help my hypoglycemia but my hypoglycemia is getting unbarable even when I eat the right things and several small meals a day. I really would like to see if anyone else has expeirenced this and if they have any advice for me. Below are my most recent labs: T3,free: 2.9 T4 free: 0.43 (low) T3 total: 122 Tsh: 1.79 .
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with type II diabetes, and my physician at the time immediately put me on actoplusmet (no discussion of diet and excersise control first). I told him that I previously had gestational diabetes that once on diet alone caused my blood sugar levels to drop so low that the meter read in the 40's and sometimes just LOW. The nutritionsts then changed my diet so that it was double portion sizes and everything read perfectly.
Avatar n tn I wanted to go the more natural route, without drugs that would hurt my organs. To help my fibromyalgia I started on a strict diet of no sugar, complex carbs, no caffeine, 5 small meals a day, low fat and only good fat like extra virgin olive oil. I also started taking 600mg of calcium /300mg magnesium 2 times daily, high concetrated omega 3 supplements once daily, 200-400 vit. E, 1000-2000 vit.D, 1000-2000 vit.
Avatar f tn Im not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but this was the closest catigory i found related to my problem. My boyfriend was first diagnosed with hypoglycemia but now we think it might be something different. We have changed his diet for the past two months. He frequently gets dizzy or faint and sometimes has facial numbness. It usually happens after eating any where from 15 to 2 hours after a meal. If some one has any advise please let me know. Thank you.
