Now as for a diet, I have a few questions...do u know if u have a thyroid issue? were u checked lately for an autoimmune issue? How about Ehlers-Danlos? Do u ever have issues with IBS? Sorry for the questions, but they will help in answering ur question.
Avatar f tn I am a 31 year old women who has also been of a slim frame. I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which is a chronic pain through my joints. I am trying many herbal remedies and have been to see a Kinesiologist who has really helped me as it took approx 5 years to diagnoise me. I thought I was going insane as I was told over and over again nothing was showing up in my blood!. Eventually I was diagnoised which is great because now I know what I am dealing with.
Avatar f tn As the episodes continued, I felt the need to go on a diet. Nothing worked! My weight watchers coach basically accused me of lying about sticking to the program because I actually gained while I was on the plan. My legs and feet are now constantly swollen and I am in constant pain. I have pitted edema. I have been to every specialist under the sun and every test indicates I am in perfect health. Finally I found a doctor who believed me and found that I suffered from hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn I, myself, have been suffering from extreme weight gain, and struggling to eat less and lose the weight. But, when I diet, or try to cut back on what I eat, I get bouts of nausia to the point that it makes me light headed, and feel the need to vomit, which has happened. I have had many symptoms of hypothyroidism for years, and did not know it. The doctor thinks it is very possible that that is very possible, and only now been diagnosed.
Avatar n tn There is a chiropractor here that says that he can help with diets and pain, there is a gym here that have nutrition and weight trainers (fat trainers), but my worry is do they understand the reasoning behind having hysterectomies and weight gain. weight watchers say they do, jenny craig says they do, diet doctors that give pills say they do, gynocologists say they do, but you know what, from what i have read and experienced, they do not.
675329 tn?1297291978 i called my dr back and said put me back on the gabapentin as i can tolerate it. i am concerned though about the weight gain.
Avatar n tn we all are having the same problems and the catch 22 of weight gain which leads to depession which leads to weight gain etcl Any experts out there with a natural solution to losing weight with no pills. I would love to hear from someone!!
Avatar n tn I just read your comments about weight gain while taking Wellbutrin. I've been on it for a few years now for anxiety/panic problems. I take 200 mg once a day, which I'm told is a relatively low dose. My psych told me that people lose weight while on Wellbutrin. NOT ME! I've gained 50 pounds and I don't seem to be able to take it off even with diet and exercise. I started thinking it was just me. I'm sorry you've had the same experience but I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
1257808 tn?1322765815 Thyroid does have a huge affect on your metabolism rate and thus your weight. Too high and you can loose weight, too low and you'll gain weight. Thyroid is also associated with mood including depression and anxiety. Some people can get off of or have no need to take anti-depressants or anti anxiety medicine simply by getting their Thyroid levels balanced correctly. However there are other hormones in your body as well. They all have to be in proper balance and that can be tricky.
Avatar f tn I had a hard time gaining enough weight when I was pregnant. Now, no matter what I do or try I either gain more weight or don't lose anything. Please help! Is there another combination of meds I can use? Do these meds alone or together cause weight gain?
Avatar f tn i have been diagnoed underactive thyroid for 11 years now, i get my blood levels measured avery 6 months and they are stable, i take 200mcg levothyroxine daily, so how come i still get all the symptoms, hair loss, dry skin, feel cold, depression, tired, and i was never so heavy as now, ever, seem to have a slow metabolism, although if i strict diet it does slowly come off, but whos gonna diet theyre whole life,i do eat healthily, always low fat options, welcome any opinions
Avatar n tn to lose weight (b/c I wanted to actually gain a few pounds) so the shock that I've lost 6% of my total body weight is now REALLY stressing me out causing that sore spot to hurt more. I'm a hypochondriac and have self diagnosed myself as having an undiagnosed tumor in that sore spot - LOL.
Avatar n tn This may have nothing to do with you but if you are over weight, putting on weight very easily, and can't loose weight even with diet and exercise then you may want to look into this condition. When I ingest carbs or sugars my body turns them into fat because my insulin cannot break down the sugars. Because I was on a strict diet of high fiber and 5 small meals a day I didn't gain weight after surgery. Before surgery I put on 15 lbs. and couldn't slow it down.
470168 tn?1237474845 If I could exercise I could deal with the weight gain better. I recently reduced the Lyrica but I started feeling bad again and increased it back up. I am just going to battle the weight gain harder and get surgery on my foot so I can walk. It's good to keep the dose as low as possible and still get help from it.
Avatar n tn SRO, I to will be following the Simeons protocol. I have it printed out and will follow to the letter. The eating to capacity was noted to delay the weight loss by a week or so in the documentation. I'll have to force myself to "put on the feed bag" in the begining. The possibility of rapid weight gain if you stray from the protcol while taking the injections is enough to keep me on track. So I will be at 500 or less a day. Keep me posted . My HCG has been shipped. Waiting to begin.
Avatar n tn Hi Angela, As a fellow Fibromyalgiac, I have to say that some of what you listed as symptoms just baffled me. I've been living with it for almost 10 years now...and for the record, I can't stand it when someone says "you're fine" but insists on turning you into a walking pharmacy. But while they are not "Fibro" symptoms, it doesn't mean that everything is fine.
563571 tn?1232494790 I've also not noticed any decrease in symptoms with weight loss. I think most gain weight with FMS/CFS due to not being able to be as active as they previously were. This applies in my particular case. FMS/CFS doesn't seem to discriminate, hitting the obese as well as slender...young and old.
Avatar n tn Up until this last week when I saw my endo for the first time, I was still battling with blurred vision, light headedness, weight gain and severe fatigue, and muscle pain. All of these are related to thyroid of course, so I learned to live with it. My endo put me on a special diet, and after the first day, all of those symptoms went away, I could not believe it.
470168 tn?1237474845 I have had some success with diet as well, for weight loss and for symptom control. I end up gaining my weight back when the docs put me on a couple rounds of prednizone (steroids). It's really really frustrating. It's frustrating because now doctors are saying the fibromyalgia is not an autoimmune disorder. There is such a confusion on what fibromyalgia actually is.
541465 tn?1219431486 Female 47 on 30 mgs. Yes I gained weight. Most people I see start on this drug gain weight but there a few that don't. Weight can be managed with the usual diet and exercise.
Avatar n tn I'm all torn up inside about this serious weight gain I have experienced. I look at the pile of pants i have that i can't wear anymore and cry. I'm currently being treated for migraines, and am on a ton of meds (Topomax, Inderal, Alesse, Flexerile, Tramadol,) When the doctor put me on Inderal I gained aprox. 35 pounds in 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn I came back and within 2 weeks put on 10% of my body weight! Since the weight gain, I have been on a strict low carb diet and exercise only to gain weight! I have been researching like crazy to see what happened. Recently, I searched stomach bacteria and stomach virus because I'm bloated and feel like it has to do with getting sick in Europe. I'm freaking out since I searched stomach virus and found a ton of articles on the "OBESITY VIRUS" which is also called AD-36 or H5N1.
1577364 tn?1296693384 I also found out recently that I have obstructive sleep apnea, which only serves to complicate matters even further. I was on Lyrica, but have stopped taking it because of the weight gain. As of now, I am taking Klonopin and and benadryl at bedtime so I can sleep. I am going to ask my primary to help me get off the Klonopin because I just don't like being drug dependent.
Avatar n tn I even went to my gyno and she placed me on diet pills. I continued to gain weight. Is there no help at all to dropping the pounds and staying on Effexor. Any suggestions would be great.
358486 tn?1294779988 I AM ALSO GO TO A PAIN MANAGEMENT DR FOR MY FIBRO ALONG WITH A LONG LIST OF OTHER ISSUES THAT CAUSE ME TO HAVE CHRONIC PAIN EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY & NIGHT WITH HARDLY ANY RELIEF. I AM ON MS CONTIN & I HAVE OXYCODONE IR FOR MY BREAKTHROUGH PAIN & I ALSO HAVE FLEXERIL THAT I CAN TAKE TO HELP RELAX MY MUSCLES.
Avatar n tn I have been on Welbutrin for almost 4 months now and have noticed weight gain of about 8-10 pounds and I'm not eating anymore than I use to. I'm wondering if the 'weight-gain'/'weight-loss' issue is affected by whether or not people 'need' to lose weight before they start taking it. I consider myself to have a fairly high metabolism and I can maintain my weight quite easily. I know what causes me to gain weight and what I need to do to lose it.
