I am a week into a antibiotics prescription (doxycycline). I am still experiencing symptoms on and off. I am a very active person and have been holding off and excercise for about a week now. I would really like to excercise but my recovery is a priority. Will excercise delay or prevent recovery?

Hello Doctor. I had protected vaginal and oral sex with a prostitute on 03/04/2013. I immediately fell sick, got flu and had low grade fever, night sweats. I took paracetamol for 2 days. I developed pain in my groin, right testicle and lower abdomen after 3 weeks ( 4th week of March). I went to the ER and got all tests done ( including US of Scrotum ). I was diagnosed Epididymo-Orchitis and was given Cipro 500 mg and Ibuprofen for a week.
Then he was given doxycycline to take along with the Ibuprofen and advised to come back in a month. On the third visit a biopsy was done which ruled out cancer. No follow up was advised except another psa in 6 months. A month has passed and he is in severe pain, he tried to get an apt with the urologist who now can't see him for two months. The urologist told him, it is just pain, just like if you hurt your knee. The pain will come back, then go away.
They gave me a shot of ceftriaxone and told me to continue with the doxycycline. The ceftriaxone helped a great deal (swelling went down almost immediately) but as I continued the course of doxy the problem began to get worse again.
I followed up with a urologist. He put me on Cipro for 14 days, 500 mg PO BID. By day 11, the problem finally seemed totally resolved. 5 days after stopping the Cipro, I can feel it beginning to come back.
Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.

I got tested at 7 months with a fourth generation test. The result was negative. I was taking doxycycline for my acne at the time. I want to know if there’s any chance my hiv test was affected by a 200mg dose? I ask because doxycycline also treats STDs.
From what I know about antibiotics, it is not ok to drink beer or any alcohol with Doxycycline. It diminishes the effectiveness of the drug and makes it harder to treat the infection. Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped.
The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.
Its good to check with your dr, but I've been on ibuprofen 600mg every 6 hours since 17weeks. I'm 30 now and will stop at 32. Everything will be fine for you!
