just pain in lower abdominal area. I took doxycycline and started peeing better but the pain is now permenent. any suggestions? tests? prostate maybe? who should i go see?
On Easter weekend I had began to experience pain in my back and abdomen, and on Easter Sunday I urinated blood and freaked out. My mom talked me off the ledge and I decided not to go to the ER but visit the campus doctor. They ran a urine test and I came back negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea. They did say blood was present in my urine as well as a slight uptick of white blood cells. My memory is vague on all the information, but I was prescribed Doxycycline for 7 days.
I am on Levaquin right now (500 mg daily for 2 weeks) in an attempt to clear out any infections. I was on doxycycline for a week before, but I still have the same symptoms. They have changed, and I'm relatively thankful for that (testicular pain is horrible). Both Chlamydia and UTI tests came out negative (they even cultured my urine sample).
What do you think ? The fact that the pain is moving around is not good, but I don't know what it is. Could it be just 2 different things ?
The vet tried 4 different antibiotics ( amoxicillin, then rilexine then Zeniquin and last doxycycline) and none have cleared the infection. After the doxycycline in liquid form my dog has been vomiting constantly. He can’t seem to swallow comfortably anymore. Even water seems to be a problem. His breath is very acidic. I tried to give him food through the syringe but he vomits everything, even after water. I gave him subq to keep him hydrated.
I and my husband received IV continous infusion Clindamycin treatment times 7 days and the followup testing showed we were both positive with clamydia. I still have pain in my right kidney that I usually have with chronic UTI. I am taking Cipro now for E. facelis but infection will not go away. It is too the point I don't want to have intercourse with my husband. Also did two months of oral macrobid and clarithomycin both I and my husband. Don't know what to do please advise.
Its been three days after I completed my course of Doxycycline and still I feel tired and feverish,also my face is itchy on cheek and around my lips,mild headache,pain in thighs and some times my testicles pain.
I have an appointment with urologisit this friday.
It will be a great help if you can advise me what it is? based on your experience.

I have a pain since 1996 somewhere inside my lower abdomen. I had a radiating pain down my right leg. Later it was diagnosed that i had a kidney stone and I did lithotripsy for the same. My contnued even after that and one doctor came close to my pain by diagnosing that I have chronic prostitis. An intercourse or slight erection gives me severe pain inside my anal area for which I press my buttocks to table corner or so to have a relief. I also apply hot water bag.
Came to find out that smoking weed was actually increasing my inflammation, and pain. I have stopped for about a week now and symptoms have been no where near what they were, but I am still dealing with a cold sensation on the tip of my penis, soft erections and random but short sharp stabbing pains in shaft. Urologist had told me it was lower back pain that was causing it. Only back pain was from laying in bed for a long 2 weeks trying to recover from what I thought was just an injury/trauma.
9/4/12 - call Dr. with severe UTI; begin Cipro
9/7/12 - call Dr. -no improvement; kidneys now involved; pain & fever increasing; sent to ER for IV antibiotic Roseffrin (sp?) IV; f/u injection next day; marked improvement in kidneys; bladder less so; sent home on Doxycycline for 14 days; not much improvement
10/1/12 - UA =K. pneumoniae >100,000CFU/mL
10/3/12 - DO prescribed Cefuroxime, 500mg/BID
10/8/12 - feeling worse; achy, constant 99.5-8 temp; call Dr.
Penis was sensitive about 24 hours later to the touch and still sensitive now, today is Day 8 - I went to urologist on Day 4 and did full tests, on doxycycline now since Day 4 and almost done with it. I masturbated 2 days later after the oral and feel it may have antagonized it more if just stress to it.
Still feeling a burning in the head, penis is shrunk (prob. due to anxiety and planning to fess up to my wife stress if doesn't get better, ugh!).

He told me to take non steroidal anti-inflammatory pain killer. The problem eventually subsided and now that I’m being treated for Lyme, it hasn’t come back.
Lyme disease can cause so many symptoms, it’s maddening!
After that, I took Mg supplements for a long time and it worked great, then went off of them recently because they were giving me small kidney stones (I was taking more than my previously damaged kidney could handle, I guess) and after a few weeks now without the supps, I can feel the muscle cramps in my calves starting to come back slowly. Time to find a dosage my poor little kidney can handle.
Mg also helps you sleep.
In fact, there would be no harm in discussing the Doxycycline reatment and your concerns about side effects with your vet anyway, and it would be perfectly in order to call the vet's office, ask if there is a time during the day you can speak to your vet when he is not busy. No doubt he will call you back when he has a moment to discuss the treatment with you.
Does anyone know how long does it take for chlamydia and gonorrhea to turn into PID after treatment for the STDs? Also I should add that I went into the ER with pelvic pain and was treated for both STDs even though the test cultures came back negative. Could they have been false negatives? I am still in bad pelvic and flank pain.
I'm bisexual male and recently had unprotected anal sex (receiving). One month after I started to have anal warts. I went to STD clinic and it turned out I have rectal chlamydia positive (all STDs are negative, urine and throat chlamydia are also negative). In those days I had minor pains in my right lower abdomen. It lasted only two days and each time the pain would last several minutes. I didn't think of STD at the time.
I got the shot in my butt and received doxycycline to take 2 time daily for 7 days. Im currently on my 5th day of treatment. My urine still burns and my throat is hurting as well. My urine color had cleared up though, (from orange to yellow). I was just curious if my medication is working?
the moment i started eating, drinking and even blurping, i had this really intense pain in my throat or rather esophagus between my chest area.
my qn is,
1) is this the cause of the doxycycline or ngu or some std problem.
2) if it's the doxycycline, do i continue medication as indicated because my doc wanted me to complete my medication before my next appt which is soon to check to the ngu symptoms are still there or not and confirm recovery.
That being said. My exposure was end of July. I started having urinary discomfort and itching in October and was checked for Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis at a New York City run facility. But the bladder pressure persisted. Now my wife has BV because she noticed discharge and smell, and this urologist told me I've got Prostatitis and trace blood in urine. Of course, online, both of those things are often signs of Trichomoniasis infection.
