I was treated twice with Doxycycline (2 mos.) for the Lymes but the treatment did not work and the doctors suspected that I may not have Lupus but had Lymes the entire time. In July 2009, a year later, I was tested and the IGM Lymes test was again positive. The neurologist confirmed I have Lymes Disease but told me that it should have showed up on the IGG test and not the IGM test because of the length of time I have had Lymes. Now I have numerous questions.

I have been on doxycycline for about three weeks and i still have all of the original symptoms. I made an appt with a lyme specialist, who I have not seen yet. My primary doctor said the lyme might be late stage and I might need IV. In the mean time I was sent to a neurologist. He said it is very rare to get those symptoms from lyme and that I should be tested for lupus and ms. He said you can test a false positive and I might not actually have lyme.
I have an Auto Immune Disorder of the connective tissue as labeled by my Rheumatologist. I take Plaquenil 200mg, and Arava 20mg daily. I have been on the Plaquenil for over a year and the Arava for 5-6 months. I am still having flares and experiencing pain on a daily basis. I'm a 28 year old male. My tested positive for ANA but the doctor hasn't labeled me with Lupus. I see my Rheumatologist on the 18th of December and I'm looking for the next step in my treatment.
Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?
The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !
A couple pf months before i started losing hair i was on doxycycline 50mg twice a day for about two months as well as metformin for pcos. I also had my hair chemically straightened with bio ionic retex system. Although i have had the smoothing treatment before and never experienced any hair loss. I have stopped both medications and no longer blow dry or straighten myhair as i used to do it everyday.
Just wondering if doxycycline worked for you. I am on doxy 100mg twice a day for 14 days. Still haven’t seen and marked improvement in my rash.

Back again -am venting . I walk around feeling like my skull cant contain my brain. The neurologist assures me I dont have a swollen brain, but I have had constant pressure that started in the back of my head and now just feels like it's all over for months.... makes it hard to move arms ands legs without feeling like head pressure comes bearing down to point that my legs feel glued to floor.

I have been experiencing strong/severe dull low back pain at the lumbar/sacral region for over a month and a half on and off, a month straight at this point. Occassionally it will cause a sharp pain in my pelvic area. I went to the OB/GYN thinking it was Gynecological and had an ultrasound; that came back negative, my reproductive system is perfect according to the OB/GYN. Urinalysis/culture came back normal.
In the interim, to the person who has negative Lupus testing and told possible Lyme disease, there are 10 bands related to the blood test for Lyme disease to which you would need to have 5 positive. At worst 3 would send signals that something Is wrong.
I'm just curious to know because you have issues swallowing, did they ever test you for Myasthenia Gravis? AKA MG part of the muscular dystrophy family.? Your symptoms sound like Lupus to me, but, have they ruled out MG?
I'm currently taking Doxycycline for anti-malaria reasons. I was wondering if it's unsafe to take for 5 consecutive months?

I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
