doxycycline for herpes

Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?

How affective is doxycycline 100mg when taken for a period of seven days to cure infections and std's present in the body alone with a shot a penicillin.

Thanks Vance. The Dr. called me today and recommended me to a urologist and switched me to cipro saying it really sounds more like a bad UTI and Cipro is stronger than doxycycline. He feels that the chances of me still having an STD are practically zero. I don't think it's herpes because it really isn't uncomfortable to urinate. I do have red inside my meatus/urethra and it is irritated for sure.

I've tried to do a lot of searching before asking, but can't pin this down. I had not had any type of sexual contact for 8 months. Then, the week before Christmas, I had anal sex with a guy I didn't know when the condom broke. I was the top and he said we should just continue -- he said "I'm clean..." I now say "I'm stupid..." I have not had sex with anyone since. I will not ever have unprotected sex again!

Thanks but by herpes being a viral infection and doxycycline is for bacterial infection. Would it still clear an herpe outbreak n 3 days.

He took a swab test, urine sample and gave me 7 days of doxycycline 100mg x 2. I also went to a private clinic for an HSV blood test -- they said it was highly accurate and "would separate out any false positives/negatives". Both doctors said it did not look at all like herpes, but that if so it was most likely not the primary outbreak. The irritated feeling began to subside, but then I drank a beer and urinated.

Now regarding herpes, if someone suspects herpes exposure, if I were to start on Valtrex within 24 hours, would this stop the virus from spreading or in other words kill it as so it cant spread any further. Same goes for taking Doxycycline stop all bacterials in there tracks prior to manifestation.

Are herpes vesicles {when filled with fluid}, painful or painless? After they burst are the open sore painful or painless? Do the open sore weep? Can clear fluid filled vesicles on penis be reaction to yeast or Doxycycline?

The nurse thought that I had Chlamydia and had me take Doxycycline for 7 days. The burning went away within a few days and I continued the course of Doxycycline. When I called two weeks later for my results, I was negative for chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea. The burning returned later that week which was 4 weeks after sex. I went to my doctor and she did a urine analysis. I called yesterday and they said that nothing had grown in the culture so I didn't have any UTIs.

Inever broke out into sores anywhere atleast that I noticed just this constant burning in genitals. My question is Would doxycycline affect herpes in this way. Or if I do have herpes might it be approaching the end of the initial outbreak. m starting to freak out a little bit. I have been on Doxycycline for about a week and it seems very slightly better; however, the irritation fluctuates from day to day. Please let me know if anyone has any advice.

i had painless blisters around the trunk of my penis and also in my pubic hair area for 2mos. after taking medication of doxycycline antibiotic it went away. t take care of it we will take a sample cause it could be Venereal Warts but i also have 3 blister looking bumps there clear and no itching or fever no symptoms that result to herpes but they are there and bug me there is just little white dots around the base and some on shaft of penis and on the bottom there is the blisters they have subsided a little but i was wondering if this could also be herpes i have had no symptoms for any of these other than the blisters and little white dots that look

First off, you shouldn't even medicate yourself for you may not know whether or not you actually contracted a std. You don't know if you are treating for the right std too. There has to be a certain measure of medication and type of medicine in order to help you get better if you happen to have a std. Second, unprotected oral is low risk but certainly not a no risk situation. You may get gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes. HIV has not been known to be contracted through oral sex.

Both doctors have said that i dont need to get tested for herpes because i have absolutely no lesions or sores, but I am just insanely anxious and curious as to whether or not, 1: I should get tested for hsv2, and 2: If i had herpes if it would be possible for me to have all these genital symptoms and aches and pains without any lesions or sores? A good answer would be much appreciated, thank you.
