I received a call on Monday that I was positive for Lyme and I should start doxycycline 100mg 2x per day. So I started that course Monday evening.
It's my understanding that Herpes, Ghonorrhea and Syphillis are the biggest concerns with this behavior. So I was tested on Tuesday afternoon (72 hours after the act) and I'm concerned that:
1. The Doxycycline would tamper the test.
2. The Doxycycline would tamper the symptoms if I had contracted Syphillis or Ghonorrhea.
Thanks but by herpes being a viral infection and doxycycline is for bacterial infection. Would it still clear an herpe outbreak n 3 days.
You will need to wait for the tests to come back, and leave the diagnosis to the doctor who saw and tested you. If it is herpes, that does not mean you can "never have ex again." Lots of people have herpes and lead normal sex lives, with appropriate precautions and medication when needed. But first you'll have to wait for the tests to come back.

ve been on Doxycycline now for 4 days and my symptoms are feeling worse (penis pain, groin pain, back, sore testicles). Is this typical, should'nt I start to a feel bit better if I have NSU?

Alternatively, maybe your wife has longstandiing herpes, had a UTI and yeast, and those infections triggered a herpes recurrence.
Having said all that, I'm also puzzled by the treatments your doctors prescribed. Herpes does not respond to any of the antibiotic treatments you mention -- so the docs must have believed something more than herpes was going on. As for your herpes tests, culture for the virus usually is positive in new HSV infections -- but not always.
Inever broke out into sores anywhere atleast that I noticed just this constant burning in genitals. My question is Would doxycycline affect herpes in this way. Or if I do have herpes might it be approaching the end of the initial outbreak. I went to see a doctor and he gave me a single dose of Z-pack and 2 weeks worth of doxycycline. I then took blood and urine tests 10 days after the day i had oral sex. I am still waiting for the results. After 4 days of doxycycline, i noticed having diarrhea often and my urine was getting a little bit cloudy.
It definitely sounds more like prostatitis, you are correct, but I'm not at all clear that doxycycline is the drug of choice for this condition. Often clinicians use one of the quinolone drugs for this condition, for weeks at a time.
You have had quite a few sex partners in the past few months, and although I don't think the bumps sound like herpes, I think a herpes antibody test would be a good idea.
The genital area is quite sensitive, so even the most brief touch can cause pain later on. Oral sex exposes you to gonorrhea, syphilis and herpes. What you are experiencing are not common symptoms of any of those infections. You said you tested negative for gonorrhea, but how long after your encounter did you test ? If you did it 3 weeks after the sexual encounter, your test for gonorrhea was accurate.

On April 11 I meet a girl with unknown history, we had protected oral (w/condom) and mutual stimulation by hand. Next day, I felt sore down there and had pink eye, visited doc to get some eye drops and the pink eye went away.

You can get gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and genital herpes type 1 (if you don't already have oral herpes type 1.
Syphilis is uncommon in most developed countries. I wouldn't worry much about that. You can test for that at 6 weeks if you feel the need to.
You can test for hsv1 if you want, but the hsv1 IgG blood test is unreliable and misses 30% of infections.
They came back negative for stds and uti. She prescribed him doxycycline for epididmytisis(hope i spelled that right). The pain in his testicles and the tingling went away. The stomach pain continued. After completing the medication he noticed spots(not really bumps) on his penis. He went to see a different doctor. That morning his lips were dry and cracked. I have thrown up twice and both the times when I took the Doxycycline. I am no longer taking the Doxycycline and just finishing up the Acyclovir.
August 11, I paid for a full STD Blood Test and everything Except Herpes 1 was negative.. I even paid for an HIV PCR Test to know ASAP about a possible HIV infection.

I've tried to do a lot of searching before asking, but can't pin this down.
I had not had any type of sexual contact for 8 months. Then, the week before Christmas, I had anal sex with a guy I didn't know when the condom broke. I was the top and he said we should just continue -- he said "I'm clean..." I now say "I'm stupid..." I have not had sex with anyone since. I will not ever have unprotected sex again!
