Few months after that she was diagnosed with Ureaplasma and Gardarella, while I am negative and was negative few months ago. Is she cheating? How could she have gotten these?

A week or so later the doctor I saw when I first had symptoms requested me to come and see her, she informed me I had Ureaplasma and prescribed me the doxycycline again. I am taking that again but 4 days again the symptoms have come back again, lower back pain, leg aches, lower abdominal pain/b, the feeling of wanting to urinate, pain and burning around my genitals.
50% of sexually active people are found to have ureaplasma in the genital tract and some strains of ureaplasma is bad while others may cause no known health issues at all. Without further DNA testing, I doubt you will know what type of ureaplasma was detected. The drug of choice for ureaplasma infections is a macrolide antibiotic. The best choice being azithromycin. Doxycycline is less effective, but if it's helping, that's good news.
Could mycoplasma or ureaplasma cause the symptoms we both have? Will mycoplasma and Ureaplasma show up in the vaginal culture and STD testing that were done? Would the doxycycline and Cipro my husband took treat/cure Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma and Gardnerella? If a couple like us came to your office for treatment are there any other tests you would do? The doctor told me that PCR is a very accurate but I have my doubts. And if treatment fails with doxycycline and Azithromicin is there another antibiotic that can cure ureaplasma?
Firstly, have you ever been actually cutured or had a smear taken to prove you have yeast and not just Ureaplasma? Sometimes Ureaplasma can feel like thrush. Erythromycin used to be the standard drug of treatment for ureaplasma urealyticum but because it has become resistant to Erythromycin the drug of choice is doxycycline. The doctor may be trying Erythro on you because of the yeast problem but it may or may not work. So, if it doesn't work you know why.
I agree with your comment about treatment to eradicate or prevent Ureaplasma is pointless. Ureaplasma is a normal bacteria in the genital tract and rarely causes disease; and if you or your partner have it, and if the doxycycline eradicates, it will only be temporary. Ureaplasma almost always reappears after treatment. Anyway, Ureaplasma is not carried in the oral cavity, so you can't catch it by oral sex.
The smell was gone so I thought it healed even though there were still discharge,I had a boyfriend short after that and everytime weve been together he got urethritis and treated with doxycycline but I still had symptoms and that problem repeated every time even we had protected sex or just with kissing. New symptoms like pain during penetration or pain while I'm on my period -which i didnt have normally- and sometimes small pelvic pains appeared.
About 1 1/2 years ago I had sex with a girl and within a few days I was experiencing burning during urination and oozed disharge when pushing out poo. Went to doc and was tested for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea, test came back negative. Doc said symptoms were possibly because of Ureaplasma/Mycoplasma. My nurse told me I have ureaplasma and I'm sort of freaking out. How serious is this? She found that I had it after doing a vaginal swab culture but this is the first time I've ever had one of those done, so I feel like I may have had ureaplasma for years. She told me to tell any partners I've had to get treated, but if I contracted it when I was 16 or 17, how awkward would it be to go back and tell partners from years and years ago that they should get tested for ureaplasma??

i have heard of a few people having this for quite sometime and had every test possible only for a urologist to tell them he was testing them for Ureaplasma and she was positive and certain antibiotics cleared this.
given the fact ive had the same symptoms as this person it does fit this is what i have as i have the same symptoms now as i did when i had the infections?

I had Mycoplasma Hominis and Ureaplasma Parvum detected in PCR test.
I am now taking Doxycycline for 14 days.
I have been to several doctors and each one says something else.
Regarding follow-up and redoing the PCR test, when can I do the PCR testing again ASAP?
one doctor told me I can do a retest in two weeks,

Resistance rates of 50% have been reported for ureaplasma and doxycycline. M hominis is resistant to erythromycin, azithromycin, and clarithromycin. Levofloxacin, another common drug, also has been shown to have a high failure rate for M genitalium. This is why knowing which infection you have is very valuable in determining the correct treatment.
Also, being in Africa, I'd make sure you had a full battery of tests 3 months from now to look for all other STDs, especially HIV.
I was prescribed doxycycline for ureaplasma infection and developed a red, itchy rash over my face and body with the first dose. My doctor switched me to azithromycin, which I took without problems. A few months later the infection is back, and the doctor wants to try minocyline instead. I got a itchy rash on my chin and my neck and arms are somewhat itchy after one dose. Am I experiencing allergies to these drugs or just side effects? Should I avoid tetracyclines?
He’s done numerous tests - both blood and urine and everything always comes back negative. Still on doxy and I get the impression that this is intended to ease my mind more than providing a cure for something many physicians feel is not worth treating. I’ve read a ton about ureaplasma in these ensuing months and these articles range from ignore it to the end of the world as we know it.
I though may be its due to that sickness but after i recoverd i checked with doc where he did all std together test and found ureaplasma pervum...he gave doxycycline antibiotic for 15 days but now i still feel pain in penis..

I would really appreciate your advice. I have always suffered from frequent bouts of cystitis but 2 months ago came down with a horrible flare that has rendered me bedridden. I have urethral, bladder, pelvic and vulvar pain. It particularly hurts when my bladder is full and when I urinate but I don't so much have urgency and frequency. Finally I was checked and tested positive for ureaplasma urealyticum on DNA swab (clear for absolutely everything else).
I recently tested positive for Ureaplasma Urealyticum and Mycoplasma Hominis, my symptoms are
- Frequent Urination.
- Painful bladder that comes and goes
- Pain in Groin Area
- Tickle in throat that provokes a cough and mostly aggravated with dry Air.
i have tried many different Antibiotics (Minocycline, Doxycycline, Zitromax)
Anyone familiar with this painful infection ? Help ??
I suspect that this may be caused by persistent ureaplasma and/or mycoplasma. Will the Bactrim treat this? If no should I test for ureaplasma/mycoplasma? What antibiotic should I take?

Thankyou very much, I have been looking into ureaplasma and mycoplasma and am going to discuss this with my doctor today, unfortunately here in the UK both of those bacterias are considered " normal" and not usually tested for, so im gonna have to press the issue ALOT me thinks.Pain during intercouse i just found was a symptom of mycoplasma, all my symptoms seem to fit that.
Recently I switched doctors and went to a female gynocologist who diagnosed me with ureaplasma/mycoplasma. I was given doxycycline to take for 7 days and told that the symptoms would go away. However the symptoms have not gone away & I still have the daily discharge and the occasional sour odor. Most times there is no itching just the white discharge, however when the discharge turns yellow the odor is also present & then there is a slight itch. What can I do about this?
Hi went I had went through all my fertility testing she testing me for the Ureplasma and tested positive. Both me and my husband had to take pills for a few days and no sex, I was explained that it wasnt a STD it was just a bacteria. I am sure if its untreated it can cause infertility. I am pregnant now with my first and didnt have any type of damage or anything, now after we didnt have sex for a while and took the pills I went back a month later and it was gone..
