Business woman2 The best way is to join a nutrition expert and a physical trainer (or a gym) and follow their advice. Incorporating yoga into this regimen takes stress out of this exercise to lose weight. Also the diet should contain more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and protein and less of spaghetti, potato etc. I suggest you eat frequent small meals and stop counting calories.
Avatar f tn I also think it's important to avoid all those easy quick weight loss things- those pills, meals, shakes, etc don't teach you how to keep this weight off. What you really need is a complete lifestyle change so you never ever get back your excess weight. The first thing you need to do is eat right. NEVER EVER miss a meal, add a couple snacks into your day. If your body isn't getting enough calories or has erratic food schedule it can get confused and start storing fat.

It is best to eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake (lean cuts, whites of eggs etc).
1147609 tn?1263587031 Most folks gain some weight with the IV solumedrol. Its a mixed bag with the rest of the drugs. Five pounds could come from water weight loss but I would keep an eye on that scale. If more drops off too fast, you need to contact your doctor.
Avatar n tn Yeah, but the weight loss is for the week I think. Also most of it is water loss due to the glycogen levels going down by restricting calories. It probably meets the original poster's technical purposes to just lose weight, however, I still feel it is too fast and dangerous. I would definitely advise against continuing more than the 12 days, 11 now, lol ! It will -no doubt-lead to nutritional deficiencies.
1149498 tn?1264447880 I have tried to loose weight for the past 5 yrs. (30) lbs. I just can't quick my snacking.
Avatar n tn I was also running though every day so that helped too. The only thing with a lot of the loose weight quick diets (soup diet, negative calorie diets, ect.) is that they aren't very healthy and will make you weaker which by the sounds of it isn't going to help you out too much in the military but they are options you can check out on the internet.
Avatar f tn Im 22 year old stay at home mom of 2 children.
Avatar n tn I started an on line diabetic diet( eating every 3 hours).I eat lots of veg's fruit for snacks only use wheat or pumpernickle bread (not every day)only drinking 20 ounces of water ,trying to drink more.I go to CURVES 6 days a week & walk the tredmill every other day for 30 minutes.I have lost 2 lbs. I am 73 years old,had a mini stroke, have HBP(under control) & have thyroid take meds for.For 30 years I weighted 110.Never be that size again ,would like to drop 25 lbs. any suggestions?
529075 tn?1213463650 I don't know why you would even think about a quick weight loss diet. If that's your picture now you look fine! I used to be fat---I'm 5'9" and used to weigh 210 when I was 16 years old. I tried one quick weight loss diet after another. I'd lose weight then gain it back..over and over again. We didn't know then what we know now about how the body can't handle losing weight quickly.
Avatar f tn I can think of better things to buy with 300-400$ then a quick skeem wieght loss. Any doc will even tell you (at least one who isnt selling a weight loss product) the safest weight loss is 2 lbs a week. Not much more than that or you can cause yourself other health issues.
Avatar f tn Most find starving celiac and gluten out of there bodies is best to start when weight for hypos is an issue. That take months to get out. Then check the glycemic index diets out - which are lifestyle changes - is best to move towards. We store sugar as hypo - and then adrenals are effected - so belly fat is tough to lose. That is a battle for many. Exercising at first is not really the answer either - even through it is good for you in other ways...
Avatar n tn I hope you understand weight loss is not a quick fix that happens in a few weeks. Exercise is a way of life that brings your body to good health while losing weight or mantaining weight. 1-2 lbs is a reasonable weight loss goal per week not much more. Remember 1 lbs of fat is 3500 calories so you will have to burn that much calories in order to lose just 1 lb of fat. Be patient is it happens slowly.
Avatar n tn If you have low blood sugar issues, you will probably not do well with the very low calorie diets many of these ladies use. Quick weight loss usually does not equal permanent weight loss. Find a healthy, sensible diet you can stick with for the long term, eat frequently, and exercise according to your tolerance. Slow and steady wins the race.
1458590 tn?1333407412 ) Try not to look at your weight loss goal of 40 pounds, as that seems like a mountain....maybe aim for 6 pounds this month, and maybe 4-5 pounds a month thereafter. This may mean it takes a while to reach your main goal but the smaller goals will feel more achievable! Good luck!
Avatar f tn That’s ok. For example, Weight Watchers is based on a healthy diet and has great support to loss weight. Do walking with a friend (maybe during lunch at work) and the time will goes by quick. Join a gym, do yoga, or an exercise group, such as “Curves”, or do dance lessons. All these activities are with people. Have fun and enjoy so it becomes a life change.
Avatar f tn The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between. Ideally you’ll be sprinting or cycling full throttle for 30 seconds with a 90 second cool down in between each outburst. This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body. Peak 8 actually stimulates the growth hormone in the body.
Avatar m tn You might also, have your doctor do some quick blood tests to make sure your thyroid is functioning properly, since an under active thyroid can make weight loss difficult to impossible. The bottom line, though, is that you have to decide that you're going to stay on track, then do it... We're here to help you and can answer questions; you have only to ask...
Avatar f tn First, if you are getting less than 1200 calories a day, your body will go into survival mode. This means everything you eat will turn to fat. That is just a function of the body. Second, 30 minutes a day may not be enough. What kind of exercise? 4 days of cardiovascular - getting that heart pumping for 45 minutes to an hour and then 3 days of toning. Third, I have known 3 people who have used the SB Diet, and all three ended up with major constipation problems as there is no fiber.
Avatar f tn I am 36 years old a mother of 4 children. I am 55 pounds over weight. Does anyone know of a doc. here in orange county that Rx's Phentermine?? I know it works from what I have heard, but ordering it over the internet doesn't sound like it could be reliable. I've done the diet & exercise & am not going no where. I have lost 1 pound in 3 months. Help. Thank you.
Avatar n tn You need to remember that muscle weighs more than fat. The mass of a # of fat is larger than the mass of muscle. You are probably building the muscle, which is good, and therefore not losing the weight on the scale. How are your clothes fitting? Are you noticing any difference? Congratulations & Good Luck!
Avatar f tn ok......first of all - there is no safe quick way to lose weight. I get that you want to look incredible for the prom. but, losing the weight has to be something you want to do for yourself. you need to want to feel better and look better before you can do it for someone else. that being said, i have some great advice that will get you on your way. i have been in the fitness industry for a while and was an all american athlete prior to medical issues occuring within the last year.
Avatar n tn On the other hand, you speak of quick weight loss and maintenance and the two seldom go hand in hand -- quick weight loss usually means severe calorie restriction or abnormally high protein consumption which you shouldn't maintain for long periods of time. Slow and steady weight loss is what stays off the best because in doing it you've permanently changed your dietary and exercise habits instead of gone off on a short-term digression.
936197 tn?1268666665 Most of the time, weight loss is not a huge problem, as long as you're eating healthy. But it doesn't sound like you are! So, as some others said, try quality if you can't handle quantity. Make your calories count...drink Ensure or a protein shake (even Slim Fast would be okay). As for the vitamins, it's true that some effect you differently. My prenatals made me sick with my first two pregnancies, but this last one I never got sick with the vitamins.
467916 tn?1269134436 You don't need phentermine. There is a system called Wafer Thin. All natural QUICK weight loss. Go to www.livinghealthywithitv.com find wafer thin in the product list and watch the informercial. It will work like nothing else you have ever tried. And it is way cheaper than diet pills.
