The best thing you can do is to of course exercise (You want cardo programs or aerobic type programs to strengthen and tone, not build a lot of muscle). The key is to being active as much as possible, dancing is great, as is walking, and of course Yoga or Pilates.

Avatar n tn You can go to a Bariatrics doctor and they can prescribe for you and you get it from your actual pharmacy. Scary, my insurance covers diet pills. Doesn't cover birth control, but covers diet pills. You don't need to use them for very long, though. It will make your heart race and feel funny...thus, the reason they are abused. Definitely an upper, and yes, Andi, my house was SPOTLESS while on them. Oceans, you're so not fat. 138 is the perfect, curvy weight. Men don't like bones....

Avatar n tn Weight loss can be just as tricky as weight gain. I am guessing that it's all about your metabolism. If it is slow, then it would explain why you are doing so much but not getting anywhere, or at least what you want. There are safe products that will speed up your metabolism. The thing is, at one time ephedrine was legal, and when used in moderation and safely had many benifits. However, people could not take it in moderation, they could not take a small amount, and they used it for drugs.
Avatar m tn N.B.: I'm not a fan of diet pills for anybody. Losing weight is best done by eating healthy foods so that you can learn the habits you need to keep the weight off once you've lost it. Diet pills won't do that. Think about a low carb plan as well, especially since you have so much to lose. It can be rather discouraging to start a weight loss plan that promises 1-2# of weight loss a week. That puts you at about a year to lose your weight. Yikes.

I know it's hard to accept when the pill sites are promising fast weight-loss with no cons, but really, sensible dieting and getting way more active is the only healthy way to shed the extra pounds. The weight didn't get there overnight, so it's only sensible to realize that it won't get burnt off that fast either.

I just found out today November 10 that I am four months pregnant! I've had no signs of pregnancy, havent had a period for at least eight years, no bump, no sickness, absolutely nothing, but did an ultrasound and found out. What my concern is, is if the baby will be healthy or if the pregnancy should be terminated?

So realize my opinion is highly biased, but exercise and diet are the best weight control. No pill will ever come close to having the lasting effects of caring for oneself. If you want some tips on boosting metabolism without speed, I am more than willing to share what I know.

Avatar f tn The biggest advice I have for you is to make your goals a little smaller. There is absolutely no healthy way to lose 55 pounds in five months. A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. To lose weight and be happy about your progress you need to make realistic goals. Know your portions and try to get protein at every meal. The more fiber the better as it will fill you up and you won't feel as hungry.

Avatar n tn If you are going to be active and in a healthy frame of mind, you are going to need something to pick you up! Just make it healthy! About diet pills: they are not what makes or breaks somebodys weight loss efforts. If you are already pretty lean, they may help you to lose that last little bit before a figure, fitness, or bodybuilding competition. BUT if you have a long way to go, they are definitely not something that will be a miracle.
