I started out with a cold and cough. Now I have a cough that won't go away. It feels like my throat is congested. What is this?

Long term coughing with no other symptoms could be a sign of pneumonia. Though pneumonia often has other symptoms, its not uncommon to have only a cough. I would recommend going to a doctor or urgent care to get antibacterial medicine if that is the case. Pneumonia is not something to treat likely. So 3 weeks ago I ended up with strep. Someone at work had it and didn't say a thing. Now that is gone but since then I have this horrible cough that won't go away. It is driving me nuts. It makes my head hurt,makes my stomach cramp and I am sick of peeing my self every time the coughing fit hits me. Anyone know what can help me and that is safe to take while pregnant. Thank you for your response , may i ask though when i had that upper resp infection with bronch. is it possible that i still have bronch does it go away or still stay with you ? The doc said when he took my x-ray that my lungs looked ok but not good enough for my age at the time . Also do you know anything about cartilage build up ? what causes it ,and if it is that what to do about it ?

I've had heartburn all day that won't go away with tums or anything. Is that something I should be worried about?
