my sister is a smoker for like 3 - 4 years maybe like 2 a day lately shes been coughing everyday 2-3 time a day and just this past 3 days shes been spiting blood in the morning what can this be we are very worried is smoking the cause of this

It's been going on four about... I don't know, 2 to 4 days now. The phlegm I spit out is clear by the way, but again with streaks of blood. Should I concerned, or did I just injure my throat or something from coughing too roughly?

Within 10-15 minutes after I wake up in the morning, I get a coughing fit that lasts 3-5 minutes, to the point that I am gagging. Once in a while during the day I may also get one of these fits. Any ideas as to the cause?

You said you coughed up a little bit of blood in the morning about two days ago. You also said this has happened before. Perhaps its time to make a doctor's appointment to discuss this. Myself, I would want to know where the blood is coming from and why. Good luck to you.

it was darker. Well, a week later, today i still am coughing up blood in the morning. It actually has had some bright, fresh, blood in it but it isn't in that big of quantities. It's the sixteenth and i've been wheezy since the eighth. I no longer have a family doctor and lost my job over three months ago now.. Should i go to emergency?? Doctor dropped me cause i took longer than a year to get a check up and NO ONE is taking new uninsured patients.

Good lord, get to the doctor right away. They need to take a listen to your lungs. Sounds like you may have pneumonia and coughing up red blood is a cardinal sign of strep penumonia, this is the strain that can kill you and is the one you get vaccinated against every 5 years. Given your age, if the dr. makes a diagnosis of pneumonia you will be hospitalized for treatment (its standard protocol for anyone over 60), your also going to need to get a chest xray.

I have no other significant symptom at all. It was for 4 days only. It happens is only in the morning.

I'm the same way its only in the morning but I blame it on how cold its got and weather changes because I'm only like this in the morning

Suffer from Gerd but started taking omeprazole when this all started after going to the ER a couple of months ago. I also had an endoscopy done as well as a nasolaringoscopy where only irritation was found.

Why do I keep coughing up mucus only in the morning? I don't have a stuffy nose either, just this problem in the morning. What is wrong with me?

I had my TT on Thursday and occassionally I get this cough but more like a tickle in my throat. Anyone experience this? Is this normal? I would think so, but just asking. Also, its been about 4-5 days post surgery and I am starting to feel very tired, weak but still jittery. I take it this is normal too??

The sore throat subsided significantly and is immediately relieved (usually in the morning) after coughing up green / yellow phlegm congestion. On Day 3 now, sore throat is almost non-existent except mild upon waking in the morning and then gone for the rest of the day after coughing up congestion / phlegm first thing in the morning. I quit smoking 10 days ago and eversince i have been coughing up pale yellow phlegm with little brown specs in the morning. (only in the morning about a quorter size). it does not look like blood.its tiny little brown specs. i went to a pulmonologist, he have me a breathing test and i did great. I am not coughing and i do not have any shortness of breath. the doctor did not seam to have an answer for the phlegm... he told me to use a nasal spray...and mucinex...

m sick or anything but just a cough. Well coughing either A makes me wanna throw up , B makes me throw up C put a really strang pain pressure on my pelvic area or D all of the above. Now I'm not to concerned with the puke as much as I am with the uncomfortable pressure I get! It hurts even sometimes. Is it bad to feel that pressure? Has anyone experienced this?

Caffiene free tea, teaspoon of honey and a lemon slice in it! For the coughing try sucking on some candy's or a fruit pop. Hope you feel better!

I'm 25 weeks almost 26 weeks and I woke up this morning with a dry cough makes me very nervous :( Can I take cough drops. Or what is recommended? I'll call my doctor later but what can I take as of now?

Thursday morning I woke up to a sore/ scratchy throat. I figured it was from sleeping with my hair a little wet and having the fan on the night before and would go away later in the day. It never went away and continued. Friday was the same thing my throat felt to itchy and irritated I would keep coughing. Friday night it felt gross to swallow my saliva. Saturday it was the same thing so I looked in my mouth and noticed my tonsils were swollen.

About two months ago I suddenly developed a cough. Started in cold weather (travelling outside of Florida in cold climate). No other symptoms. Seemed to be only chest tightness, and an almost constant dry cough- rarely productive. I was already taking antihistamine daily for allergies. Went to the doctor after about 30 days. He gave Asmanex, a Medrol 6 day dose pack, Nexium, and upped to an ant-histamine with decongestant (Claritin-D generic equivalent.

Might just last for a fews days..I know it occurs a lot in the first trimester but your in your second si lets just see how u feel tommrow if not better than call your doctor but until then..get some rest drink water and ginger ale and take a warm bath and eat light food..

there is so much mucus that she coughs up everyday atleast 20x a day, this causes a problem in school, i really am at a loss...is there anything that will reduce the mucus build up? this is a constent problem, no helth insurnce sure dosent help, but I m doing what i can do for now trying to help her..any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
