Avatar m tn You could research vocal cord dysfunction (VCD). There are several video clips of breathing techniques on the web. This could be the cause of your difficulty. VCD is a spasm of the vocal cords that can be triggered by many things including crying, singing and laughing. I hope that helps you and that you find answers soon. Feel better and have a blessed New Year.
Avatar m tn Now I think about it, depending on how hard she laughs changes the amount of time before she starts coughing. Really hard laughing as a shorter time frame until coughing starts. But with lighter laughing she can laugh longer before the coughing starts. Normally with lighter laughing it's not a problem as she has to laugh longer than normal for the coughing to start (I.
Avatar f tn So, for 3 months now, I've been coughing. Sometimes a lot, and sometimes, like right now, I just get random tickles in my troat with results in coughing. I've had chest pain before within these 3 months, but it went away. Now it's back, and it's a bid odd. Sometimes it's a burning sensation with over the counter meds for acid reflux can take care of, and sometimes it's random tightness/sharp stings both medial and lateral on my chest. Especially when bending over.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I cannot physically see it, but I can feel it and so could a few other people when I asked them to compare sides. I have been coughing a lot lately due to being sick, so I know that is not helping. I do plan on going to a primary and getting it checked out. My job does require very heavy lifting l, but I use proper lifting techniques. Or at least I think I am... Has anyone else experienced this? I am really upset and in pain. People have said it could just be a pulled muscle.
Avatar n tn Tonight is my seventh shot so I've been at it for 6 weeks. About 3 weeks ago I started coughing. Now I can't even breathe without the tickle sensation causing me to cough or almost cough. I try REALLY hard to suppress it. Two days ago I coughed so hard it tore a muscle in my rib cage (or whatever, I haven't had it looked at. See the Doc tomorrow). It feels about as bad as when I broke some ribs some years ago. Now coughing is a killer.
Avatar f tn Mines was natural and it was horrible, but I felt better way more quickly, then I did when I had an epidural with my other 2 children
Avatar f tn Do breathing techniques for labor actually help and work? I feel soo stupid practicing them lol. I just dont wanna keep practicing them if they dont really work all to well.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm just wondering what the best breathing/relaxation techniques are for calming oneself down when anxiety reaches high level. I'm fed up up have anxiety attacks and taking it out on my poor fiance by yelling at him. I want to control my feelings and not allow them to get me so worked up so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn Does anybody have any relaxation techniques. I suffer from benign pvc's and anxiety to accompany it. Just some days i would like to learn how to relax and get through my pvc episodes.
Avatar m tn What are some coping techniques I can employ? I sometimes want to die because of this stuff and already have a serious mental illness I'm having to deal with alongside the PTSD and I'm supposed to be receiving therapy for this but I don't know when I will and need to know some things I can do to cope better until then.
Avatar f tn I wanted a natural birth too and I read up and educated myself a lot about different techniques but one that stuck with me and made the most sense was the Bradley Method. It worked for me and I have VERY low pain tolerance! My being stubborn helped me along too I think! Good luck!!
Avatar f tn These past two day I have experienced heavy chest pains, shortness of breathe, fatigue, and lots of coughing/ coughing up yellow mucus. I have had bronchiactesis since I was 6. I also have had 99.2 F fever, today. should I see a doctor to know what it is or will it just go away in time?
Avatar f tn In which case I would recommend you find some good relaxation techniques to use in stressful situations and before you audition. Many of these techniques can be done without anyone even knowing your doing them. I doubt you have "anxiety" as we know it on this forum. Your symptoms would be much worse than just shaking and you would, literally, be unable to audition at all. In your case, I can see the words "nerves" and "anxiety" being interchanged.
Avatar n tn like i said if you dont feel better in 2 weeks go back to the doctor.. or if you are coughing up orange bright green or rust coloured mucous or have sharp pains around the bottem of your ribs.. or if you lay down and can not breath then go to the doc asap..

Avatar f tn I only started this about 1-1/2 weeks ago. I am not coughing up that much and believe that with the bronch being in the upper lobes, that I have dry bronchiectasis so I wonder about the value of the vest. The doctor ordered three sputum cultures in case one or two don't show anything, but whatever he ordered can take up to 8 weeks to grow so I don't know what they will find. I just started coughing up blood.
Avatar m tn That was about 6 months ago. Since then the coughing as not gotten much better, or worse, but I still am coughing an abnormal amount. I have also gained about 20 pounds since getting married, and been experiencing a lot of heartburn. I initially started getting the heartburn while on the steroids, but it has not gone away after getting off them. I have had allergies in the past, but never this bad. Thinking that this may just be allergies, I started taking Zyrtec.
746512 tn?1388807580 I don't know if I have asthma yet, my follow-up after the pulmonary function tests isn't until next week. However, my chronic cough has got worse and worse over the last couple of days. I can't sleep more than 3 hours without waking up in a coughing fit that lasts about 20 minutes. The muscles around my diaphragm are also very tired and sore. Regular cough suppressant with 30mg of dexmorph ... a something don't work at all on the cough.
Avatar f tn If I can catch early at flutter or just after the SVT starts I can usually stop pretty quickly by bearing down or coughing. Have noticed over the past couple of years that occasionally I will wake up in the middle of the night in a full blown tachycardia. When that happens it can take about an to stop - I try laying down with legs up and arms above my head, laying on left side with arm under my head, crazy breathing techniques, bearing down, etc...
Avatar f tn In the meantime I ended up having laryngitis (I think from coughing so much). The NJH doc gave me levaquin for 21 days. I took the first dose and it made me have some strange side effects so he told me to stop. Now I have post nasal drip and my laryngitis is still there although getting better. I have done everything for the laryngitis, steam, cool mist humidifier, room temperature water (about twelve 8oz glasses a day), resting my voice. It is getting better very slowly.
Avatar f tn Was wondering what different natural labour techniques everyone is trying .. im looking into water births... relaxation music. .. can anyone give me other suggestions?
