However I have finished my medication and still coughing a lot and had a fever at 37.5 (Which is warm for me, I tend to be 36.7) and today for the first time in a long time I noticed I could not breath, felt like my throat was blocked off. I am constantly coughing and it is driving me insane, I cannot sleep as it wakes me up and my throat is so sore.
Does anybody know what my GP should do next? Or what you would personally do?
It is common to lose your voice with bronchitis. Usually it is all the coughing. I am praying you get well soon.

Hi please I need help I have been coughing for like 2 weeks no fever just like tickle in my troath, I start feeling like a weird sound in my right lung every time I take deep breath, I went to the doctor and he said It was bronchitis I started an azithromycin cycle 6 tablets , I finished taking it 2 days ago ... I still coughing and still felling that weird sensation in my back every time I take a deep breath , what can this be, how long this can last?
how long will bronchitis last? I was sick for over a month coughing,shortness of breathe, flem, wheezing... all of those have gone away except the wheezing.. sometimes its worse then other times.. I previously smoked for almost 2 years but at max 5 or 6 ciggs a day and hookah..
I've had this really bad cough for like 2 weeks n it just gets worse n worse to the point where I start losing air cuz I can't stop coughing. My mom thinks I might have bronchitis.. sadly I had to Google it because I didn't know what that was. N now I'm freaking out..

Both my daughter and I have been sick with flu type illness and bronchitis for almost two weeks. Even though our flu tests came back neg the urgent care dr feels we did have the flu. We went back to see urgent care dr yesterday for the 3rd time since being sick. My daughter still have episodes of coughing and dyspnea. The dr at urgent care did do xray on me but not on my daughter. Sent me on my way with increased dose of prednisone and told me i was wheezing.
I had bronchitis in my first trimester. I could hardly sleep because of endless coughing. I kept coughing up brown phlegm and my chest hurt. The doctor gave me some antibiotics for it. I refused the xray.
you really should go to the Dr. and get something for your bronchitis before it turns to pneumonia and or pleurisy. I had the latter and it is no picnic : (
I smoked nearly 40 years and I was sick for about 4 months. I expected it, given the length of time smoking, so just hang in there and it will get better but only if you get yourself some antibiotics for the bronchitis.
I have a friend who was diagnosed with Chronic Bronchitis. She would always have coughing fits and quite often be diagnosed with bronchitis.. again. This is just an idea.. I hope it was some help.
with Bronchitis you get dried-up and dehydrated which, for me, can cause water retention (a.k.a., bloating). I certainly am no healthcare professional, but any time you have these symptoms, just know it's probably Bronchitis, which will resolve itself eventually. Ask your doctor if this comes back again.

I have had a chronic cough for 4 weeks now and still coughing. Just yesterday after I coughed, my right side rib was hurting alot. It hurts to move, breathe, and cough. The pain also goes to my back on the right side and up to my armpit. Is it possible that I have cracked a rib from coughing too hard?

Coughing is normal; night coughing can be because of an airway infection viral or bacterial. It can also occur because of an allergy. Even sleep apnea can cause coughing at night. You can try dusting your room and home often. Keep your bed clean and dust-free. Use a humidifier if needed. You need to take care of triggers that may cause allergy, which is leading to coughing. If the cough becomes severe, consult your health professional.
It started out as a dry cough, I was treated 3 different times for allergies with 3 different allergy medicines. My doctor also gave me antibiotics to treat me for bronchitis and a nasal steroid for nasal drip cough or something like that. NONE of these things worked. If anything it had worsened. I cough until I almost black out sometimes. In the past month it has gotten really thick, lotta phlegm! So I went back to the doctor and she treated me for asthma.
I have had diagnosed bronchitis 3 times in the past year, year and a half. Syptoms usually begin with runny nose, watery eyes, congestion, sinus pressure, and excess flem. Some people develop a type of asthma after being sick called bronchia asthma. It is definitely true that people who have bronchitis can take a good while to stop coughing mainly because of that irritation that takes a while to go away. Losing weight can happen when you are sick-- you probably are exhausted, not eating well, not sleeping, etc. I'd give it another couple of weeks and if you are still as you are now, go back to the doctor for that second opinion.
I have had Bronchitis for about 3 weeks now. I just went to the doctor, most likely viral bronchitis and he gave me an expectorant, and an inhaler (Salbutamol). The problem is that I am suposed to fly to South Africa on Monday and compete in a 3 day mountain bike race starting wednesday. The days will be very demanding and I am worried how my lungs will perform, moreover are there any possible short and long term effects.

My wife (57 year old) has had a chronic cough accompanied by occassional sneezing and gagging for over 3 years. She has been to every specialist we can think of - lung, gastro, GP, heart, throat, allergist, etc. She just had tests done for Gerd which included the Bravo monitor and the test was negative. She has had numeorus x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds and any other tests that can look inside her lungs, ears, nose, esaphogus, stomach & throat.
My doctor told me I had chronic bronchitis and I now take medication (Advair) for it but I want to know if chronic bronchitis is contagious. I know that acute bronchitis is contagious but I didn't think chronic bronchitis was. I'm asking because my boyfriend says that everyday after he sees me his throat feels sore and he starts coughing a lot with a lot of mucus. I smoke and he doesn't.
It showed pneumonia in the bottom of both lungs.. I took cipiro for 2 weeks...Felt better now Im coughing bad and coughing up yellow phelghm. New xrays showed nothing.Whats going on? And what kind of pneumiona lives in the bottom of the lungs?

My brother has an intense cough. He has had it for about 3 weeks and it is not getting any better. The doctor prescribed an inhaler and certain cough medicines but nothing is working. It has gotten to the point where by the end of one of my brother's coughing "attacks" he is in tears and feels as though he is going to be sick. It's the worst in the morning and at night.
